Jake appreciate the apologies, for me there is no need. Life happens. Yes that is a Dragon on the wall. I believe they mentioned Stannis was currently on Dragonstone in S1 EP 5 that is the Episode when Ned sent that messager to Stannis about Joffrey and his brother Tommen being Cersei and Jamie's sons...
Dragonstone Castle is where the Targaryrens lived after fleeing Valyria from "The Doom".. years later its also was home to Aegon the Conqueror and his 2 Sister Wives Rhaneys and Visenya.

Also you are 100% right about Littlefinger being the absolute most selfish person- even moreso than Cercei or even Joffrey I'd say. I love the juxtaposition of his and Varys' characters so much because they are so similar in their methods, but complete opposites in their motives. The scenes they have together are so fun to watch.

Yes there’s a difference between White Walkers and wights. Wights are just the dead come back like zombies. You will find out more ❤

Good spot! Yes that is a dragon carving behind Stannis.
He is on the island of Dragonstone which was the ancestral seat of House Targaryen. 🔥 🩸
Keep up the epic work 🤩

I've got my root beer, and I'm loving how on point your observations are. GRRM is basically using the entire A Song of Ice and Fire series as an enormous commentary on leadership and honor. The entire ruling class of Westeros, the concept of a feudal nobility with the "right" to rule, is just farcical. Your name, your father, your inheritance, your title, gives zero indication of your fitness to rule. And it's a ridiculous system of governance. And those born into it often have the least perspective on what's actually important to the people your position exists to protect. It's honor that makes a good ruler. Doing what's right. Except... life doesn't care about honor, and those willing to be ruthless will often prevail over those who hold themselves to the rules. So, how do you lead effectively when doing so can lead to losing sight of what matters? Gods, I love this series!

If it makes you feel better, the baby at the end didn’t really die. It went to sleep and then was immediately woken up.

Yes, magic is meant to be slowly growing since the dragons were born through magic where only death pays for life and Dany paid a very high price. Sadly the show runners didn't do this progression except when useful. And so S2 was both exciting and what the heck are you doing leaving out so many crucial "magic dreams" It's not just Bran with his wolf and raven dreams, rather all the Stark children bar Sansa as "Lady" was killed. And that was felt by all the others forcing Bran to wake up. Danaerys was also having "dragon dreams" in the hot, dry wastes leaving her just as confused as Bran, Jon, Rickon and even Arya who made Nymeria flee all have "wolf dreams". I can understand why only Bran's "magic" grows in S2 through his dreams in Westeros but not why Danaerys, on the brink of death is portrayed as an entitled, petulant teenager in Essos with 3 baby dragons? Where in the book, she was very humble, mentally exhausted by "dragon dreams" and the strain of keeping her rag tag retinue alive.

The name of Theon's sister is Asha in the books. They changed it in the show to Yara so that people don't confuse her with Osha. At least, if you don't watch the German version in which she is called Asha. Got me really confused when I watched the OV of GOT.

Excellent reaction and discussion. The interplay between Tyrion and Varys was interesting. they certainly appear to be the most intelligent and intriguing people playing the game who want what is best for the realm. Littlefinger and Cersei are devious and cunning but appear to be only interested in what is best for them. Bronn is certainly another intriguing player, I wonder if her is a true mercenary who will do anything for money or if there is a streak of honor under his exterior. Most of the other players allow honor, lust, loyalty, or other emotional issues influence them too much.

This has definitely been mentioned already but there's white walkers and there's wights. The white walkers are the guys you saw in the first episode that look like zombies made out of ice basically. The wights are just regular zombies. Sort of. But more on that later

Hey Jake, I don’t think Gendrey has any rights to the throne being a bustard in the line of succession. Enjoy watching your journey thru GOT and Harry Potter too. Take care, Diane 💚
