    Love all these ideas. In Australia our $1 and $2 are gold coins. People save all there gold coins during the year and they buy a piece of new furniture with it. Gold coin challenge. 😃😃😃😃

    No doubts , a good way of growing and saving your money is through investing . You don't need to have much before you can invest. "That little money you have now can make you millions if you invest it wisely". I wasnt financial free until my 40’s and I’m still in my 40’s, bought my second house already, earn on a monthly through passive income and got 4 out of 5 goals, just hope it encourages someone that it doesn’t matter if you don’t have any of them right now, you can start TODAY regardless your age INVEST and change your future! Investing is a grand choice I made..

      Investing typically demands a good understanding, and that's where having a financial consultant is invaluable. I've had the privilege of working with Regina Louise Collaro, an investment advisor affiliated with a licensed wealth management firm.

    • @stephaniefythm
      @stephaniefythm ปีที่แล้ว

      Her guidance has significantly enhanced my financial situation. She's widely recognized for her expertise, so you might have come across her name. With her support, I've attained financial security and now receive a steady monthly income through her successful passive income approach. I strongly advise considering an experienced investment advisor to boost your financial prospects.

      I value your recommendation Stephanie. It's challenging to locate a trustworthy person. I could really use your investment advisor after seeing how much money you've made through investing. If you don't mind revealing her information, that is.

    Just do the zero based budget. Assign every dollar to a job before you get a paycheck. I always create a new budget every year and it’s so easy to save.

    Sometimes canned foods are cheaper at other stores than dollar stores so be careful for that also ex. Is tomato paste you can get it for 48 cents at Walmart or 42 cents at Aldi and it would be 1.00 at dollar tree... Sometimes it's cheaper sometimes its not

    Saving $1's or $5's becomes a habit after a while. I haven't spent a single $5 bill since May of last year when I decided to save $5's for my vacation fund!

    I like to make some kind of game out of No 7. I would write the numbers from 1 to 52 on 52 pieces of paper and put them into a jar. Then each week i randomly pick one of those numbers and save the amout that is written on it. That way I don‘t have to save more than 200€ in December.

    “ it’s not about how much you save, it’s the fact that you are saving” I like that you said that. As a recovering spender, the fact that I am going from $5 in my savings account to $50 in my savings accounts right now maybe be sad to other people but it’s a win for me.

    It's often cheaper to buy staple food items at a discount grocery store or Walmart, instead of the dollar store. Pasta, salt, peanut butter, etc are available for less money per gram/ounce/lb and are often higher quality than the dollar store. It's best to know your prices per unit before you head to the dollar store.

    For the 52 week challenge, I did it in reverse - started with $52 the first week and went down a dollar every week. It was easier this way bc in Jan. you may have money you got for the holidays and there is less to do when it's cold. As well, it hurts less in December when you may want to buy gifts for people. I am saving my 52 week money for a future trip abroad. I also saved enough from every paycheck this year to max out my IRA contribution. (For me that is $271 each check.) It seemed like I had no spending money at first, but I adjusted very quickly and now have a lot to show for it. :)

    Thanks so much for this! I'm loving your videos so much. I have a question I'm currently struggling with: I might need to relocate for my job once it's safe to do so, but have been given no timeline - I don't know if it'll be a few months or a year or maybe even never. In the new location, I anticipate at least $1000/month more in expenses. With that in mind, should I be building an emergency fund of 3-6 months (my current goal) using my current expenses or my future projected expenses? My goal after the savings fund is paying off my car and student loan debt, which I'm eager to start. Thanks so much for reading :)

    Love these challenges! I'm going to try the pantry challenge this week.
    One of my "challenges" is taking a week or longer to contemplate any larger purchases (could mean different things for different people) and to see if I can find it used on Marketplace or Craigslist. For example, I wanted to get a handheld vacuum and while I probably could have found a solid cheaper option, I like to see if I can find a higher quality one at the same or cheaper price. Implementing this time period also makes me *really* consider if I actually need the item in question or if I can get away with not having it! To make it more related to savings goals, one could put away the different between the new item's price and the price you ended up paying.

  • @aititelocin

    Thanks for this! A trick to make the 52-week challenge less daunting as the year goes on is to start with 52 and save less as the year goes along. So week 1-$52, week 2-$51, week 3-$50, and so on. By week 26/27, you only have to put away $25, and then it’s less and less as you go through the second half of the year!

      Transfer weekly, biweekly or monthly. Ask if your bank will round up the change to each transaction into a savings account.

    • @kimberlymayo9951
      @kimberlymayo9951 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you are an online spender then round up. The round up amount goes to your savings account. Example if you spend 86.20 at Amazon put 3.80 in savings = $90 out of your checking to the above. Or go bold and put the other $10 in savings as well to make it an even $100 out of checking.

    I want to do the Reverse 52 week challenge so by the last week of the year when money is tight for us I would literally be saving $1 instead of $52! Another thing I do that really adds up is the night before our checks are deposited in our accounts I roll over the change and the one dollar amount. For example if I had $76.35 I would transfer $6.35 into my savings account. It’s a negligible amount that I won’t miss but it accumulates quickly over time.

    • @nikkimeredith2521
      @nikkimeredith2521 ปีที่แล้ว

      I do the 52 in reverse. This is my 2nd year. It is much better only putting $1 around the holidays, than $52!! Go for it, you will like it much better. I also do the Zero Out Challenge, but I do the end of the day Friday balance. Happy saving!!

    Good video. I love your necklace 🥰 . Even if something like cold medications date has expired from the dollar store it just means it might be a small percentage less effective. A lot of expired medications are used in poorer countries, so it’s not dangerous . Thanks for your teaching 😊

    I do the 52 Week Challenge, but in reverse. I start with $52 the first week. That way the closer to Christmas, the fewer $$ I need to put in. This is my 2nd year doing it. I also do the Zero Out challenge. Each Friday, at the end of the day, I check my balance in my checking account. What ever the amount is in then ones place and the change, I transfer it to my savings account. For example if my ending checking balance is $217.32, I transfer $7.32 to my savings and my balance is now $210.00 in my checking. Each time it is a different amount and can be a lot of fun. The least amount would be $0.00 and the most would be $9.99 that would get transferred. I have never had zero so far and this is my 2nd year doing this one as well. Thanks for the other ideas you shared. I will definitely try some of them!!

    At the Dollar Store, be careful with the size of the package. Those chains have humongous deals with food multinationals, and have packages made for them. For example, a pack of cookies at the Dollar Store could be at $2.99 instead of $3.99, but the weight of the package 250g instead of 325g.

    Combine the penny or dollar challenge with the similar declutter challenge and you'll not only have money at the end of the period, you'll also have a neater, less cluttered home!

    Do you have advice for big eaters in the family. My husband eats half a bread on his own. He is a gartner. And we have a daughter who eats a lot and she is slim. We also save our money with plastic bottle where change is on when you return it. 25 cents or 15 cents. I return them after we save a good amount. We get 4 or 5 euros on them. Yes i live in the Netherlands, I dont know what i will do with the money yet, Maby for my daughter new shoes. And we also use too good to go. We have supermarkets but i cant get them on time. Only lidl or the baker. Lidl has fruits and veggies for 3 euros and the baker 5 euros for bread baked good or sandwiches you can take with you. My husband only wants bread fruits and veggies from the app. My phone is on its end. I said to him i need to pay a liitle more for bread this week. You should have heard his awnser. No way. You get that app on a new phone and make it work. I wont pay any penny more for bread or veggies. Well thank god i can order it today I hope i said. And order two boxes well okay and we have enough for 2 weeks. And also lidl.

      Hi, the best advice I can give is always looking for coupons, buying generic, and of course shopping at lower priced grocery stores...at least this way you can get what your family needs, while keeping your total within budget...th-cam.com/video/iKh2vyjFHCs/w-d-xo.html

    Glad I came across your page. I’m a compulsive shopper and my only goal is to stop shopping all of 2023 💀 at this point it’s eating me up and mentally I’m depressed. I know this is my breaking point.

    To the no spend hack...I suggest keeping a running tally of what you might have gone a bought if you are tempted to spend off the necessities. That could help you gauge when you are tempted, and by what...even what the triggers are. That is an eyeopener withoout the price tag.

    I don't use cash really. 99.9% of the time I use my debt card instead of cash.

    Great video! I've done the 52 week challenge but in reverse! So I start off with putting $52 in and that way I trick my brain into thinking that its somewhat of a countdown lol
