Shin didn't care about the competition whether he was gonna win or not but he had a big heart in helping a fellow magician and for that he has earned my respect
It's a perfect example of two people doing the same thing and being at the top of their trade, but instead of having an unhealthy animosity toward each other, they collaborate to make something even more amazing. It's a perfect example about how the society should be.
Shin Lim is super humble and so laid back. I appreciate his personality and how he doesn't use his accidents as sob stories to get sympathy from anyone. It is pure skill and showmanship.
Marc Pearlman is a great magician also. I really he would win some shows he's on because he is also a talented magician of different style.

Shin Lim entered so humbly, revealed himself so gracefully, and went away leaving Marc Spelmann on the stage. He didn't take any extra footage or build up or camera time of his presence there. He just walked away without grabbing any extra attention. Such an amazing man!!!!!!!!!!!

Think about it though: Simon is executive producer of this show, which means he has final say on guest appearances since those appearance fees have to be negotiated and accounted for. The fact that he was genuinely surprised means Shin did not ask for a fee for appearing on the show despite his showing obviously making the episode ratings gold. I think at least part of Simon's surprise is from Shin doing this without asking to be compensated.
He very well could have for free but Im pretty sure production team could authorise fees or even pay later.
Why would he ask Simon for fee when the deal was with him and Marc lol 😂 if there's any fee which I don't think there was, Marc is the one paying

This is what I love about magic, pure entertainment. The moment Shin Lim is revealed, just sent joy through the audience and to the viewer. This is what TV entertainment is all about and AGT does it so well. Never mind how it's done, the magic was wonderful. I could see the switch when Shin Lim took over before his reveal, but it didn't matter. Just golden entertainment.

None of us realized the switch until we rewatched it so YES it still was a great act! A great surprise!
Funny thing is, they didn't really need the switch. Shin Lim could have stood there from the beginning doing everything. They're roughly the same height and built, he didn't speak, he wore a mask, nobody would have known that's not spellman....
Creatip the point is they saw him put on his mask then start the performance and say anyone could be x then at the end he pulls off the mask and bam shin lim that the act since we knew it was him to start although it seems pretty obvious they switched when he turned the board around by going behind it

Freaking unbelievable!!! These 2 guy's need their very own act. Imagine how amazing they could be if they worked together all the time. I absolutely LOVE insane twists and we usually only see big twists like this in movie's. To see this twist during a competition as huge as this one is... Was absolutely amazing!!! Huge props for them both!!

It's pretty clear how they did it. If 'X' decides to spin the seethrough panel you see the first 'X' putting his hand on the right side and moving towards the back of the panel to spin the panel. At that exact moment, 'X' number two is already behind the panel. You see the hand of the first 'X' moving of the panel and see a new hand grab the panel slightly above the place where the first 'X' had put his hand. At this moment, the two 'X's' had switched. You can see it clearly at 3:59 . Prove me wrong

Marc Spelmann is my favorite act of all time in the whole "Got Talent" franchise, to this day it still pains me how he didn't win in all the shows he's been on.
He is great and epic, but he just can't win. Unless by some chance he's not pitted up again some super emotional act, or old talented person... Audiences vote will definitely gravitate towards the openly emotional one.

I love it how Marc Spellman and Shin Lim worked together on this performance. In my experience, this sort of cooperation almost always leads to better tricks and here it obviously did, because the judges and the audience were blown away by it.

They did the switch when he walked behind the board, and due to it is a black screen you were unable to see the other one switch with Shin. Shin is one of the greatest slight of hand magician’s in the world
You can see Marc placing just his fingertips on the board's edge, barely spinning the board. Now higher on the board's edge, Shin has his fingers wrapped around the edge and continues the board's needed spin. This was their switch.
Yeah there was no reason for him to walk all the way in back of the board when it spins.

Max Gooding that doesn’t mean much. Look at that Australian guy with the beer, his magic was entry level at best and he went far. This guy is definitely not entry level magic but it’s not great. Anyone who enjoys watching magic would see through his tricks in a second.
@@phillyrepo8927 There are some mentalist/magicians that are enjoyable to watch. Remember Mike Super from an earlier season? I was always eager to see what his next act was but he got criticized pretty bad by one of the judges. Nicholas Wallace was great also, but the act that got him cut last season was a little boring.

OMG!! That is just insane!! I've been a fan of Marc from the 1st time I saw him on BGT and I've discovered Shin Lim later and he impressed me too but the 2 of them working together was just mind blowing! That was the winning act to me! I have so much respect for Shin Lim the way he acted. He made sure that Marc got all the attention and walked away. The 2 of them are genuises but the 2 of them together, a major Powerhouse! It was amazing seeing them working together on one act, Imagine a whole entire show, I mean that would be more than insane and perfect... I just can't find the right words but I would be in the 1st row every night!!! I've never been a fan of magic but these 2 made me change my mind about it! I keep watching this act over over again, I just can't stop!

I'm pretty sure he forces the "Shin Lim" card. There's no other way to do the trick unless he has every single contestant dressed up as X backstage.
For the people that’s talking about how you noticed he switch, that’s because you saw the thumbnail and knew it was happening so you were looking for the secret. However, magic is all about presentation and diversion so if you’re watching for the first time without knowing what would happen, it would be absolutely magical.
I saw the switch first time I saw it. You can clearly see his hand leaving the board and his boots disappear and reappear briefly behind the right wheels of the board. I could tell something was off from that and when his figure magically changed then I knew where this was going.
It's not that perplexing of a trick, it's just really showy.
But perhaps that's because I like watching magicians to figure out how they do it rather than for the magic of things.

I saw something noticeably odd during the turn but wasn't quite sure why it was odd. Then when they made the reveal, I was like "oh that was obviously when they switched". That was a weak trick. A good magic trick shouldn't have you noticing something that doesn't seem right, even if you aren't exactly sure why. Good magic tricks should be seamless, this one wasn't.

You feel like the most genius person on the planet, which you might be. But I'm telling you, pretty much everyone with brain would keep up with the understanding behind every magic tricks. Because most of them are indeed quite simple when we know it. I'm just saying.. it's not healthy.
