@@jansmit4690 agreed and Rodtang is literally a machine (hence his nickname haha). But I think he has a chance and watching those two fight is so satisfying. Namely I like the tussle between Haggerty’s range vs Rodtang’s endurance and aggression.

Haggerty did a terrific job setting up right cross knockdowns. A true tactician
Haggerty really do bring Muay Thai to the next level, feel like he can beat anyone right now. He got all the fundamental tools, exceptional forms, stance switching to southpaw for evasiveness and counter attack, crazy timing and space controls. The way he arrange his body/arms/legs during those movement/offense/defense feel very optimal for blocking, masking away all the patterns, and counter attack.
Imagine taking all those kicks! Props to both fighters. God damn that would sting so bad. Man we've been coming so far in combat sports lately it's awesome to see such talent all over currently.
Imagine coming across one of these dudes irl 140 lbs skinny not holding much muscle overall pretty small guys but they could destroy your face with multiple headkicks and elbows before you knew you had a problem

Respect to Naito. Kid's got grit to stay on til the end. We can see in the stances that Haggerty came from a pure Muay Thai camp. Naito did look more MMA which might have put him at a disadvantage in this discipline. Still, that flesh on flesh action sounds entertainingly painful! Great show.

He's always been smooth. Rodtang just made him look bad especially on the 2nd fight.
@@bobomo5857 Rodtang has over 200 fights more than him though. It’s crazy that Haggerty is competing with the best Thais at his weight at all and he beat a legend in Sam A.
I’d like to see a rematch between Haggerty and superlek so I hope they both make it to the final of the Grand Prix and then the winner would fight for Rodtang’s title. The first fight they had got stopped by a cut.

Haggerty used to be a kick boxer. Then he got brutally owned by a muay thai fighter. Now look at.him.

That was such a rocking shot
Haggerty just has better mixup in many areas (kicks, stance switches, punches, tempo.) He doesn't fall into a pattern. Also when he wants to be super aggressive and high pressure he can turn that on, and when he wants to be defensive he can turn that on like a switch. Naito was great, but being tentative in the beginning and only committing to leg kicks, barely any punches to mix it up, and only focusing on the 1-2-Round that most fighters have seen a thousand times, it just didnt work for him.
They're both young so I think they'll meet again in the future unless naito wants no part of those hands
