But this has helped me for when I want to play against more aggressive competitors. I need to change my play style. Thank you for his video. And well done!
Watching your video made me realise... speedruns or just being quick are about preventing waiting, in this case - by generating the construction materials quickly; another thing that for me makes a huge difference is using modular (rectangular) designs and knowing that Copy+Paste is your best friend... Copy+Pasting with roads blew my mind - either for industrial or residential blocks
I always restart my game after getting artisan ( and bankrupt), and I never knew how to achieve this. I am using this video as a loose guide. I didnt know how to plan for town layout. The potato farm lining up really good. liked and subbed.
Your income mostly comes from the amount of residents/people, you can hover on their needs to see how much someone is paying per item. Happiness goods like schnapps, beers etc also gives you a nice income so keep an eye to fulfill them, if you're going bankrupt on getting to Artisans that means you either upgrade too fast, or build too much industrial buildings especially iron stuff, they're expensive to keep up so try to build them according to your needs and to your income.
@@jasperwillem You were so methodical, it was like watching an AI player fast expanding, must take hours and hours of experience to play that quickly :)
Thx. Within the freedom of design, there is a certain logic for optimal easy usage of these free design decisions, which over time will lead to a big change of equal outcome.
I've bought the full game with dlcs a year ago and built 2 huge cities on Story Mode. No, its completely a gift, it goes upto 200 workforce for each tier, on the highest expansion tier. The Workforce can also be shared with other islands with the Commuter Pier.

I guess you must consider that people is also a resource and houses aren't full until it has all needs satisfied, so at first you need extra houses to have enough people to work your buildings to provide them the goods they need to be there. To grow safely into Engineers, I recommend building up a maximum of 40 houses of Engineers, without supplying them, or building any infrastructure related to Engineers, safe up to 2.000.000 Gold. Reach this by supplying all Luxury needs to Workers and Artisans. Then start boosting your liquidity with income from; Beer / Schnapps (sell to Anne), Soap (Sell to Eli) Gardens, Zoo's, Museum visitors. Sell Weapons to Isabel (even between Jean and Isabel, with profit). Balance your production streets by optimising them with items from Eli. Remove your vulgarity to a secondary island, same with heavy industries, then welcome visitors in your capitol (income). Do not build a lot of steam ships, only do that when your investor islands go up, not before.
