- We visited Ellen’s Stardust Diner in NYC yesterday (8/25/23), and prior to visiting let one of my former voice students know that my kids are OBSESSED with the live action Little Mermaid movie.
She arranged for her friend to perform ‘Part of Your World,’ and because we were sitting close by the mic was presented to my son, Peter(7).
I’m not crying. You’re crying!

We just saw the Today Show segment. Wow! It is so crazy that one minute of our little trip to NYC has become so popular! I’m glad I pulled out my phone. Thanks to everyone for the positive vibes. I’ll check back in after my work day. ❤
i'm a a grown man in his 40s with no kids no girlfriend etc. but plenty of nephews. Im disabled and broke and none of this was what was planned for my life. When i heard your son it brought tears to my eyes. The innocence of children. I pray the best for you all.
Awww. I admit he brought tears to this 62 y/o mans eye's 🥲 I have no children or grandchildren.
What a great job! I also loved how the guy in the background with the black hat watched as he sang. When he was slow on the next line and he looked a bit embarrassed as she finished the next line, you can see the guy look as if to say, "oh no! He missed his part!" And then when she let's him finish the song, the guys smile gets bigger and you can then see him looking around because he wants to see if everyone is as happy for the little boy as he is seeing him get his chance to sing, and doing it very well.
A very "Proud Papa" kind of energy.
P.S. I watched this several times and I get choked up at how shy and nervous Peter was, but the smile on his face at the end shows that even though sometimes things can be scary, or make you nervous, but if you really want to do it, you can and will, and everything will turn out right.
