They are such beautiful horses and incredible workers as I'm sure you know. Wow your husband or whoever the man was had to be agile and a high-stepper! He does a fantastic job of leading the horses AND staying out of the logs way. Thanks so much for sharing this with us. I sure hope you were very snugly dressed, it looked so cold out there!❤❄️👏
I enjoyed this video so much, gorgeous horse’s , it reminds me of when I was a teenager and my Dad and Grandpa was alive, those big horses eat a lot and around here they had to work to earn their keep, gentle giants, they were more gentle than some of our riding horses. So beautiful and so powerful and you don’t see very many men where I live that even know how to handle/work a team of horses anymore, nice to see, well trained horses, they listened so good. A good team is worth a small fortune now a days. Beautiful, just beautiful I’ve always been a lover of horses. At 16 my first love was a16 hands gilded Palomino, a birthday gift, he was expensive at the time and worth every penny. 😊❤
My husband learned to work with horses since we bought the homestead 3 years ago, he always had riding horses before but now, he wanted to work the land and get the wood out with horses, do sleigh rides and charriot rides in the summer. These horses have a really good character yes, they are huge and impressive but so soft and gentle! we are not afraid when we have guest and little ones, the horses never kick, bite or even move fast when we are around. We are prudent but not scared and nervous around them.
Absolutely wonderful to see and hear. I am not sure if I heard the command correctly but when I use to sled with my huskies we use gee, haw, whoa and several others. I loved watching this!!!
yes, it is the same commands for the horses (whoa, gee & haw) but maybe with a French accent here 😂 My husband also say “doucement” which means “slowly” often, but this is just him with the horses :)
Anne your journal videos so great , your accent different where u from ? I found this channel randomly so enjoyable ! Those horses and view so magical🙂↔️Thanks for sharing !

it is always a bit less cold in the woods, there is no wind but yes, I am always well covered and I don’t suffer from the cold :)
