I been addicted to TH-cam and been honestly indulging my flesh more than my Spirit, but I been doing better starting yesterday. It is SO difficult, but I want to seek God and trust God that He will help me... even if He has to displine me, it is all worth it and for HIS glory. I want Him to help me overcome this addiction. I fully repented of booze and it's been wonderful off that stuff, but my desire for God has been dull because of this waiting season. :( Please pray for me. I need help from the Heavenly Father.

The world has absolutely no idea how hard it is to be a true born-again Christian, with all of the same temptations and avenues to commit sin. The world has no idea it is harder to be an obedient Christian to God than anything else a human would ever experience. Yet only God in His grace and mercy are we ever able to make it through. I must say that I truly deserved it and praise the LORD I was better off in the end, I found a great job and we even owned a house. The LORD has cared really well for us ever since. Hallelujah!

I lost my wife in 2018 to Alzheimer’s after caring for her at home for 9 years. That was pretty crushing. I cursed at God and told him to go away. I fell back into agnosticism different from atheism. Not my best moment in this life, it took me a few years to turn around. This would indicate no faith at all or false faith to have done such a thing. I have confronted sin as best I am able am now back and struggle on, hopefully this is all behind me.
Living it now. Stage 4 metastatic cancer finally woke me up. Fear God and obey Him. He loves and knows what is best for us. Take sin and the Bible seriously always. It is not a book of suggestions but of instructions because He loves us
I have a particular sin I continue to wrestle with and I’m always afraid the Lord will say, “That’s it!” And very justifiably withdraw from me. As a child of God, what I treasure is knowing that He loves me enough to use his rod and staff to discipline and correct. This causes me to fear Him, and it comforts me as well. By the way, it’s also true that the Lord delivered me almost 2 years ago from a destructive habit I acquired when I was growing up. I used it as a method for numbing the pain I had incurred during childhood, and was powerless over it. One night, the Lord allowed things to come to a crescendo, I willingly repented, told him He was all I had from now own, and gave it all to Him (weak as my commitment was) and He healed the damage my soul had been in for so many years. I’d been self-medicating, and the impulse to do that is completely gone now. Literally, it was an overnight healing. I’m still fighting to give Him other stuff though, so I’m not sinless. I just find that nowadays I’m sinning *less* in one particular area.

Oh yes I have been through this and I’ve learned that obedience to the promptings of the Holy Spirit is key to receiving eternal life. In this way, God qualified him as a perfect High Priest, and he became the source of eternal salvation for all those who obey him. Heb 5:9
This is a tough one. When something is taken I would never turn away from God but at the same time, in the same turn, I also am not sure He is responsible for it. As an example my cat was hit by a car and died, and it was horrifically traumatic. Was this me being punished? I dont know, it could be. Did God take him from me? On one hand I am totally open to that and on the other careful not to blame Him. Blame not meaning it was His fault (anything I do to cause punishment to happen is my own fault). Imagine we knew the exact punishment for the sin, like if I knew that He would take my cat from me I would have done anything to avoid that pain.
It's not easy to decipher what is a punishment or what is just consequences for my past, or present actions. Usually I think God is disciplining me just because I don't attend church, and put other people above Him (my family, and then my self). So much has gone wrong in my life I'm just trying to get by.. Strange to say, but when I backslid SO badly in 2013 and part of 2014 which was three years after I was "born again" I can look back and clearly see that God was with me then, and He was so merciful to me. Maybe my disciplining is still from that time, idk. Like you said, He can really crush your life. A lot of your videos lately are saying things that are very coincidental too, like for example, we have little moths flying in our house and it's dead winter outdoors now. It's gotten to be as cold as eight degrees fahrenheit here. These moths are following me here lol. I feel bad for them but it's ok it's just life. I think they live in the hole in our roof, or our attic maybe. Weird. Thank you for sharing this word. God bless you.

I read that verse as saying the thing that God will consume like a moth is the thing that we love most, to the point that it has become our god instead of Him. God will consume it so He is again our true love. It doesn't necessarily mean that the death of a loved one is God taking them away because we don't love Him as we should. YHWH gives and YHWH takes away, blessed be YHWH's name. Of course, God does what is best for His glory and He can act as you explain. Bless you brother. You are a blessing to me. Good video. It's so true. It's my own fault I guess; I gave God permission to do whatever in my life, just to be saved. My cherished sins are: lust, youtube (shorts), and food. God disciplened me, and I was so dumb, that God had to do it twice. It's horrible, and I agree with Matt that if you can avoid it, that would be better. "Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby." - Hebrews 12:11 (KJV) It isn't over yet either. There is God's judicial proclamation,declared righteousness, ( justification) which is through faith in Christ, then there is also actual righteousness in this life which varies in degrees or levels from person to person. Those who have believed in Jesus for the gift of everlasting life will never be judged in regards to eternal condemnation.( John 5:24). However, they will be judged at the judgement seat of Christ for their actual righteousness to determine their position, status, roles, responsibilities, rewards ECT... In the Kingdom of Heaven.
Whoa, I think we need to be a little careful with your message. I want to gently suggest I think some points in this video were given pretty hastily. The video started good by reminding us of God’s forgiveness and how our justification in Jesus before God is complete and an everyday reality that defines the life of the believer. So in that regard the video was good. But I think your message runs the risk of coming across like when someone is going through a hard time it is likely a result of God punishing them for sin. I don’t think this is the message the presenter intends to give, but he unfortunately kind of does. First, he makes it seem that if you are sinning, God will punish you in a completely unrelated way. God is God and can do what he wills, but the picture the Bible gives is more like God gives unrepentant sinners over into the consequences of their sins like in Romans 1: 24. The presenter doesn’t really explain that sometimes when people encounter suffering and things are taken away from them, it is actually because they are being faithful Christians! Look at Job. What did he do to deserve his health, sons and daughters, wealth, and everything he has to be taken from him? Nothing. Actually to the opposite, the reason he suffered those things is because he was following God and the devil went to hurt him. Or think about Hezekiah. He turns out to be a good king and destroys idols and returns Israel to true worship. Then immediately, bam! The King of Assyria attacks. Then he comes down in illness. And then there is our Lord Jesus who did nothing wrong and suffered crucifiction at our hands. And He promises we too will go through the same trials and persecutions. The presenter also said that in the mist of trial, that not only is this a result of your sin, but to wrestle with God is a sign that you must not be a true Christian. This is some dangerous thinking. You might cause people to despair in their suffering and to suggest God can’t handle complaints in the middle of hard times is ludicrous. Luckily the Bible offers a different picture. Job makes complaints to the Lord. In Psalm 64, David talks about how the Lord hears his complaints. The advice the presenter gives is some of the same advice Job’s disingenuous “friends” give: if you are suffering in your life, it’s likely your fault and if you complain that might be a sign that maybe you’re not really a Christian. Even Jesus showed us how we could complain to God in suffering and trial when He prayed the Lord to take the cup of wrath from him in the Garden of Gethsemene or when he prayed Psalm 22 on the cross and asked “My God, my God, Why have you forsaken me?!” These aren’t just things Jesus did, but examples for how Christians are to faithfully wrestle with God in the midst of suffering. The biggest mistake is that the presenter doesn’t point the listeners to Christ. Whether our suffering is because we continue to sin and God is lovingly disciplining us or if it is because we follow Christ and the world persecutes us, we can take refuge in the fact that on the Cross and through the empty Tomb, our Lord and Savior Jesus has overcome the world and His death is our death, His resurrection is our resurrection, His victory is our victory. Don’t mean to come out so harsh but I really feel there were some not so great messages in this video that the presenter likely didn’t intend. Take it or leave it with what I wrote. God Bless
