As a babe in Christ I clung to this verse. Coming out a hopeless and desolate past, this verse showed me that God did have a future and a plan for my life. This verse My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. Maybe. And I see your interpreting of the vibe, however I also see them listening intently. That's what he does. He draws you in. They are taking in the food.
I would suggest being thoughtful when speaking out during the preaching of the Word… examine your heart, be sure the motive is not to draw attention to self. Spoken from chaotic charismatic experiences early in my walk…thank God for leading me to sound teachers

I needed this message right now, and God, in His infinite mercy and grace gave it to me! I was despairing of all the evil in the world, angry at the people gaslighting us and calling evil what is good and good what is evil. I was despairing of how to live in this world. I have two jobs while I'm here doing the work God has for me. Love God with all my heart and mind and spirit and love my neighbor as I love myself. I can do that with hope in the Lord, because He is sovereign no matter what!
Jeremiah 33:3 He will bring us through stronger not always avoiding hard times and expect ease in this world of warfare we are told put on the armor of God . If we weren’t going to face battles God wouldn’t have given instruction to put on the armor of God.
I just finished studying Deuteronomy 27, 28, and 29 and faithfulness in God being multigenerational is absolutely the message Moses is conveying and prophesying here. Thank you Voddie, may the Lord bless you and keep you all, and by the grace given through Christ’s sacrifice may we never go astray. Amen

This man is a servant of God's Word. A Good God is full of hope for the future and His People despite hardship and opposition in the present. Let him who has ears listen to the voice of the Lord.
Praise be to God and Lord Jesus Christ for His faithful servants like Voddie Baucham who continue to preach the Word as it is written. Babylon is the opposite of New Jerusalem and it is not easy living in "Babylon" as one who is of "New Jerusalem". Just as "New Jerusalem" is not a city but the Bride, the Church, the people of God, "Babylon" is not a specific city or country but represents total culture of the world apart from God. Babylon is the symbol of all worldly opposition to Jesus Christ and His people.
Wow, your statement taught me a lot❤. The World Mission Society Church of God teaches, New Jerusalem is a true woman and she is called Mother God and lives in Korea and that is who they pray to. 😢 My little cousin is in this cult, please pray for him yo be delivered from this cult. I am studying to try yo bring truth to error. God's bless 🙌 🙏 ✨️ 💖

@@luboshcamber1992 I totally agree. New Jerusalem is a "city" of God's people. Another metaphor for the "Bride" of Christ or the "Church" of Christ (Rev. 21:9-10) and the exact opposite of the whore of Babylon (Rev. 17:5) or a "city" of worldly people of Satan... Voddie Baucham has other sermons on this subject (The New Jerusalem (Rev.21:9-31) and The Great Prostitute part 2 (Rev.17:7-14)
I join you in that prayer of thanksgiving sister. I have been listening to him for about 5 years and I am still challenged by his preaching. May God bless you as you listen more of his sermons.
I already commented that this sermon was excellent. I then discovered that it was more than excellent...is that possible??? I'm listening again and share this sermon with people in order to bless them!!!!!!
On a few occasions I have been able to point out that there was more to Jeremiah 29 then verse 11. That we must consider verses 10-14. All scripture has been fulfilled in Jesus Christ. The final word from Jesus on the cross was, “It is finished.” John 19:30. Jesus has set up the eternal kingdom. We are just traveling through and on our journey we bless and live our lives together in harmony.
I’ve not listened to the whole video yet, but in my 5 year walk with the Lord in my spirit man I knew this verse did not mean how my soul and flesh had taken it to mean. As I’ve walked with the Lord I’ve learned that His definition of prosperity and fulness of life in Him are complete opposite to the world’s even the church. God is good and He promises to withhold no good thing from us. Even Joseph said to his brothers after then persecuting him and leaving him for dead, selling him into slavery ‘what you meant for evil God meant for good!’ We only gave to look at nearly r dry biblical character and we are no different as children of God especially the remnant who have surrendered ‘everything’ to Him and laid down ALOT for the Gospel know that ONlY God knows what is good and will prosper His Chosen one’s.. persecution, suffering, trials are all to purify us and refine us in His fire NOW in this life as the Holy Spirit in us takes us from faith to faith and glory to glory and finishes what He started within us when we first became born again from ABOVE! God promises He is for us not against us and no weapon formed against us will EVER prosper even though the fiery darts of the enemy will come at us but if we TRUST in Him, in His Will, His Ways, His Goodness and Mercy that we will go through storms but the waves will not overwhelm us, we will be tried in the fire but we will come out not smelling of smoke nor one hair on our head singed.., we’ve just gotta TRUST in Him and let Him take us by the hand and lead us through it all to the over side just as He did Jesus and the patriarchs. And I pray as we walk in the Spirit and are led by Him, He won’t let us forget this Truth.., yet let us remember He will wipe away every tear, and give us mourning for dancing and beauty for ashes. Now these may not be spoken either in context but there is the Priciple of God’s divine redemption plan for all true believers in Christ ❤❤❤
Shalom, Praise to The Most High Elohiym🙌 Enjoyed your message on Jeremiah 29:11. And I tell you I've a few relatives that made it their life verse. While it sounds AMAZING! without reading the verses before (more context) it and w/o understanding basically people hear only the prosperity part and run with that. This message of yours, was confirmation to someone else's I'd previously heard. Yahuah continue to Bless you Mr. Baucham to speak His Word in truth.❤
Praise the Lord for Pastor Voddie and other teachers who share their gift for teaching and interpreting Scripture with millions around the world. For those that still want to hold onto this as a ‘life verse’ do not despair - within it’s context Jeremiah 29:11 still tells us something about God’s nature which is unchanging [“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.” James 1:17 KJV] God still works so that ALL things - that may appear good or bad on the surface (subjective view) - are for our ultimate benefit. “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28 KJV God bless you! ❤
That's good that it brought you hope, but the scripture isn't addressed to you. Context is important here. This scripture was addressed to the Israelites. Charismatic doctrine is blasphemous. Please dive deeper.
It applies to us and can be a comfort to us in that it tells us about the character of God. It is not speaking directly to us or about us, but it is telling about who God is-- that He is sovereign and good. We can certainly take comfort in that.
This is such a good study. It's always important to find out who the author is, who the verse was written to, when it was written and from where it was written. I appreciate your teaching Voddie Baucham. As you were teaching, and the theme of this study "Living Faithfully in Babylon" caused my mind to recall Luke 19:13. "Occupy till I come." So, now I will apply what I have learned from you and read this tonight. God bless you.
I hardly know anything about Voddie Baucham except when he mentions LA, his mom, and his trip to Africa. But the way he works with Biblical/systematic theology sounds intriguing. It catches my attention
PRAISE THE LORD.. THE LORD IS GRACIOUS.. the CHURCH is few in numbers but we re. kingdom of priests.. and PRAISE the LORD for the faithful devotin and life given to this teacher who is a lover o CHRIST. HALLELUJAH. All praise to the FATHER!
I love my brother in Christ, Voddie Baucham. HOWEVER. God never changes & while taking scripture out of context is not good, the OT still shows us who He is & all of it is for us. That passage goes on to address the servants of God… when we choose sin, we go into exile just like Israel. And we cannot return until He comes to get us. I just cannot and will not believe the God of the universe would give us this book but only make it understandable for those who spend years in cemetery, i mean seminary. All the OT relates to us. Still.
I don’t think that’s what he was saying. My understanding of his message is that we first need to understand context in order to not juxtaposition the message and thus confuse its intent. The word is for all but it also need to be understood in context, as do all things in life, to fully understand the heart of God. We tend to read scripture as islands as Christians and I think that that’s what he’s talking in regards to. As a result we usually frame it to our needs, wants and will as opposed to the author of the word - God. This is just what I am getting from his message. You’re not wrong, I just think that you’re not seeing his perspective.
@@Mahmie i understand that, and I do agree. Context is very important. And you’re right that people often take passages of scripture out of context & apply it to themselves incorrectly. However, this verse as an example, still pertains to us because it reflects God’s character, & supersedes our selfish desires, if we’re in error with that. I just see it as very discouraging for some when the living, active, supernatural aspect of the Word is removed for exposition. Although I can see that some are discouraged by misapplying scripture as well.
So with that logic all the dietary laws apply to us. I have to throw out my wool sweater and empty the bacon out of my fridge. Have you heard of replacement theology, Many times when God speaks to the Jews He is speaking to the Jews not the new covenant church. It was for them while the principles may apply to us not always.

2 Timothy 3 The Dangers of the Last Days 1You should know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times. 2For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred. 3They will be unloving and unforgiving; they will slander others and have no self-control. They will be cruel and hate what is good. 4They will betray their friends, be reckless, be puffed up with pride, and love pleasure rather than God. 5They will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. Stay away from people like that!
Truth is so much worldliness including the church that even many Christians are no longer optimistic about marriage, parenting, and family. Some singles adopt orphaned children. Nurture and discipline them alone, no spouse
I always take verses like that to mean He has a future for me in eternity. (But this was directed at Israel in a specific circumstance.) He never said we would be healthy or free of strife, yet still people will act as if sin or lack of faith is why people are unwell or not thriving. In fact, we were told quite the opposite. John 16:33 says we will have tribulation in the world but reassures us that He has overcome the world. 🙌

But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.
James 1:2
Church is so quiet... I'd be praising and thanking Our Lord. For me The Lord's Word is so exciting and profound simultaneously.

@@valeriegoldstein3483 I understand your point of view and experience. That said, my praises would be motivated by the Holy Paraclet and Advocate...the sheer joy of knowing that He Loves Me is pure joy.
In my lifetime love was scarcely experienced, including my absent parents... Thus, I would spontaneously praise my Messiah, but never for attention. Perhaps, being Tri-racial and Caribbean, plus raised in NYC...😊
Well, you get the picture. Lord bless you richly my Eternal Sister Valerie! I look forward to meeting you in Paradise someday, where praising His Glory is continuous and communal.
Amen
Sadly I've never heard this Pastor preach, I could tell I was in for something good! 🥰
I love to hear Pastor Voddie speak. He is so well verse in the Bible and it causes me to want to learn and study the word more. Praise God for a few great scholars of the word/Bible. He's one of them. No emotions, no opinions, no rituals, no prophelying, no money line, no misrepresentation...only the pure word of God with BIBLE explanation! THANK YOU Pastor V.
"Don't allow the game that is being played cause you to not live optimistically." 💖
I needed this message right now, and God, in His infinite mercy and grace gave it to me! I was despairing of all the evil in the world, angry at the people gaslighting us and calling evil what is good and good what is evil. I was despairing of how to live in this world. Thank you so much to Pastor Voddie Baucham for this message at this time! Jesus is my Lord and my Savior and there is nothing this world can do to change that.
That was perfectly said!!❤
This is a sermon that should be preached in the black community.
Amen. Every community in western countries needs to hear this. Desperately.
The Lord gives and the Lord takes away, blessed be the name of Lord. Job 1:21.
I think that is my life verse
I just finished studying Deuteronomy 27, 28, and 29 and faithfulness in God being multigenerational is absolutely the message Moses is conveying and prophesying here. Thank you Voddie, may the Lord bless you and keep you all, and by the grace given through Christ’s sacrifice may we never go astray. Amen
I like Ezekiel 33:11 it shows God's Love for us yet also reminds me of His justice towards sin. Like a Father warning His child of the consequences of continuing in sin
So thankful for this faithful man of God....and his servant heart and bravery. Hoping Americans wake up to the latter half of this video.
I agree, it's so unfortunate that so called Christian think scripture is about them IT'S NOT. It for Instructions Reproof and training up in righteousness. My own family compromise to justify their needs.
Pastor Voddie Baucham so beautiful man of GOD ❤
@konstantinmorgunov196
I like your enthusiasm but New Jerusalem IS a city.
@@GodsDisciple I'm sorry to hear of your cousin being deceived by that cult and will pray for him. Unfortunately false doctrines, false teachers and false religions are spreading like wildfire as Bible said they would. But God also promises the crown of life to all who remain faithful unto death (Rev.2:10) (John 11:25) God bless you and keep you through and through.
@@luboshcamber1992
I totally agree.
I was lead to this sermon! My daughter will know His Word if she doesn't know anything else! ❤❤❤
This is truly a man of God.
I love to hear the message’s he speaks because they are directly from God.
If I could just let Voddie know how on time his messages are for me...... I'm humbled.
Wow! My first time hearing this anointed man speak. Thank you Lord for giving us this man and his ability to explain your word so concisely.🙏🙏🙏🙏
I join you in that prayer of thanksgiving sister. I have been listening to him for about 5 years and I am still challenged by his preaching.
May God bless you as you listen more of his sermons.
Amen and amen. I am thankful for him, been listening to him for quite a while. God bless and keep you.
You are one the best preachers out there sir.
Well, it's all true... and hits really close to home. Lord have mercy!
Amen this is so good. God is faithful !
Amen! Hallelujah! God Bless Voddie Baucham and his ministry. He's the best!
We are just traveling through and on our journey we bless and live our lives together in harmony.
un espacio dedicado a compartir las enseñanzas profundas y transformadoras de Voddie Baucham.
Must say amen to God 🙏 and Jesus Christ 🙏💞 ❤️
Praise the Lord for Pastor Voddie and other teachers who share their gift for teaching and interpreting Scripture with millions around the world. For those that still want to hold onto this as a ‘life verse’ do not despair - within it’s context Jeremiah 29:11 still tells us something about God’s nature which is unchanging [“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.”
James 1:17 KJV]
God still works so that ALL things - that may appear good or bad on the surface (subjective view) - are for our ultimate benefit. “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”
Romans 8:28 KJV
God bless you! ❤
Needed this encouragement today! Thank you! God Bless as He continues to lead you, and your family.
Jeremiah 29:11 brought me hope when I was completely lost. How could such a sweet and precious scripture not apply to me, or us?
That's good that it brought you hope, but the scripture isn't addressed to you. Context is important here. This scripture was addressed to the Israelites. Charismatic doctrine is blasphemous. Please dive deeper.
It applies to us and can be a comfort to us in that it tells us about the character of God. It is not speaking directly to us or about us, but it is telling about who God is-- that He is sovereign and good. We can certainly take comfort in that.
@JesusWon-t7zyou a pastor? Let me guess, you know him personally?
@JesusWon-t7z where did he deny the words of Jesus,
Best message I have heard on exposing what this verse really means! ❤
I keep my faith in my ❤ for God and Jesus Christ ❣️🙏💞❤️
I was amening aloud the whole lesson my brother... I love you! Pray for you! Keep on preaching truth brother!
Fantastic sermon as always
Good listen others people that know what God is 🙏
PRAISE THE LORD.. THE LORD IS GRACIOUS.. the CHURCH is few in numbers but we re. kingdom of priests.. and PRAISE the LORD for the faithful devotin and life given to this teacher who is a lover o CHRIST. HALLELUJAH. All praise to the FATHER!
Thank God for what he done 👍
The OT. Can be written to u personally. If we are in sin Jesus says repeat; turn away.
@@PaulSimscji agreed
So with that logic all the dietary laws apply to us. I have to throw out my wool sweater and empty the bacon out of my fridge. Have you heard of replacement theology, Many times when God speaks to the Jews He is speaking to the Jews not the new covenant church. It was for them while the principles may apply to us not always.
Pray 🙏 to father for everything 🙏 and Jesus Christ and save us and pray for family and friends and brothers and sisters
Always loved this verse. I take it that God is always with us through life.
Don't you see how wonderful kind ❤️🙏 tolerant and patient God 🙏❤️ is with you

It's not a lack of optimism, it is selfishness.
2 Timothy 3
The Dangers of the Last Days
1You should know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times.
Or both
It's a lack of faith, knowledge, amd obedience, not optimism. We don't need an attitude change. We need a heart change.
@@TheCalvins When the heart changes the attitude changes❤

May we all give and lift up our Prays 🙏 always. It's not always easy.
Thank You FATHER for Your love for us through JESUS CHRIST our SAVIOR ! Thank you Pastor for your faithfulness to your calling.

Excellent explanation of this verse. I wish the verse in Thessalonians were explained as well, when it speaks of the rapture. The whole chapter is different than the meaning of one verse.
