It's so funny that Kanami comports herself and sits like a prim and proper demure Japanese lady during the interview. When she straps on that PRS, however, she becomes a rock demon!
Kanami is an interesting person. As you can hear, she has that high, soft-spoken voice and she is known to be a bit strange. Saiki and Miku talk about her being like a fairy tale princess. But she is also disciplined and driven and pushes her band mates. She and Miku were interviewed by Herman Li of Dragonforce and she asked him what the fastest BPM Dragonforce has played, and told him she wanted to write a faster song. Billboard Japan also just did an interview with The Warning and Band-Maid. Kanami wrote their joint song "Show Them" and worked the lead vocalists hard. Quote from Kanami: "KANAMI: I really like vocals that make an effort in a higher key, so I might have given them both a hard time. [Laughs] But the result was really satisfying so I’m happy about that." Band-Maid has played in Mexico twice, the 1st stop on their 1st overseas tour in 2016 and the last stop in their 2023 tour. They really enjoyed those concerts. A joint concert in Mexico would be epic. The Warning would like to do another collab where they are the main composers but: "Daniela: I’ll lower the key a little bit then. [Laughs]"
@@Olkam-w5u Not that she's not used to it, but uses a formal way of speaking conversational Japanese. There are multiple levels of formality in speaking.
The atmosphere that surrounds Dany is impressive, she is such a simple and joyful person that it is impossible not to admire her. A rock star in every sense, on and off stage she always has a positive and respectful attitude. Kamani, also no slouch as everyone in Japanese culture, both excellent representatives of the genre in the world of rock!
Where are you from? And what the heck is "no slouch as everyone in Japanese culture"!? You seem to know nothing about Japanese people and Japanese culture, or you're a typical Japan hater and just plain racist. That kind of language has no place for a rock fan.
Thanks Glenn and Adrian for covering this interview with the Ladies of Rock. Hope Dany gets her Private Stock soon as well...I am sure PRS is listening..😁😁
For a very long time I wasn't interested at all in PRS (Gibson lover, mostly vintage ones) untill I finally tried one because if it's good enough for Kanami ... Now I have three (a Custom 24, a Santana and a Silver Sky). Just like she said: they are SO easy to play, the neck is incredible! Then they are so comfortable, light and extremelly reliable and stable. Still love my vintage Gibsons and their quirks (part of the charm!) but as a professional instrument, the PRS makes complete sense.
That private stock guitar that Kanami ordered is done. PRS Guitars Japan posted a video of it just a few hours ago. (COLLECTION # 088 Private Stock Custom Made for KANAMI (BAND-MAID) Custom 24-08). Probably just watch on your own, a video of the guitar with a PRS band song as backing music. That would be awesome if and when they pull off a Mexico date together, it could lead to a US tour for Band Maid too. Edit: Chaoszine dropped an interview today, with The Warning from Wacken.
Great! Thanks! Gracias por compartir esta entrevista. Qué lindas ellas! Esperamos una próxima colaboración. Sabían que el idioma que más rápido se habla en el mundo es el japonés? Seguido por el español, por cierto.
Hi Glenn and Adrian, Carlos Santana was born in 1947 in Autlan de Navarro, a little town in Jalisco, Mexico. The middle son of seven siblings, young Carlos grew up with music and was entranced as his father played the violin in a mariachi band. So, Santana is a Mexican guitar player.
Kanami has just received her private stock PRS. She used it in the video of "Show Them". If you want one, I understand it will run around 10-14K apiece.
I wonder what Band Maid are doing around February 6 -11, when The Warning have those 2 big shows in Mexico City. It might be a long shot, but they did both say ...
I think TW already announced Holy Wars as the opener, but that doesn’t mean they couldn’t add BM at a later date. I hope so, since I’m going to the 2nd CDMX show. 😎
Hey Glenn, if you are ever looking for new interviews of The Warning, I recently saw the Wings of Pegasus one from 4 yrs ago (about 39:42 long) and found it to be quite informative especially with regard to the use of click/backing tracks as well as the writing of Narcisista.
I own three very different SE models. I don't play professionally so I don't feel like investing in a core model. I do have an interest in a few of the models, but not the dollars for it. Maybe if I see it used. But my SE models are excellent tools and I really really love them. I have two Gibson's and I have ESP and Schecter guitars so I'm not just a PRS fanboy, but I do say that I love each of my guitars or I usually sell them off.
Although it's commercial, but i think that Kanami was honest, since she mentioned it a lot that she is fan of Santana. But will it be the only sound of BAND MAID?)) Miku Kobato is a die hard fan of Zemaitis and as guitarist she improves day by day, so who knows ))) Also i would like to mention, that there is nothing wrong in doing commercial stuff, everyone needs to eat and heavy genre musicians don't earn that much, unless they r world wide successful... Then when u grow and develop further u need to buy better equipment as well and it costs fcking a lot, it's like bottomless pit. Even though i'm not a musician myself, i own my little private business and it is really a bottomless pit when u develop it further, so it can be seen on surface like u earn a lot, but u need to invest those earnings further, thus in reality u don't have that much money in your pocket to spend it freely.
The label doesn’t make them do it. I think it’s actually Miku’s idea to wear them at any official or promotional event. They have said that the outfits have become their “battle armor “ and they wouldn’t think of going on stage without them.

Another example of Band-Maid's live performances of taking one of their average songs and turning it into something epic.

I think it's odd that the Band Maid singer is wearing her maid outfit. Does their label force them to wear their costume 90% percent of the time?

Umm, you've already realised that Kanami is the guitarist and not the singer. Only those who have no idea confuse them.
Are you familiar with the Japanese music movement called "Visual Key"?
