Here's a shocker - The Wily Capsule has a big flaw: The T. Bolt INTERRUPT'S WILY'S ATTACKS. That's right, use the T. Bolt on the Wily Capsule before he can initiate his homing bolts, and he'll get electrocuted and not use them. He'll be guaranteed to use his secondary shots though, and he takes no actual damage, but those are easy to dodge, and you just need to use the W. Coil and then switch to T. Bolt quickly and fire. But, you get no help for when he's out of your jump range. Oh well. (+Up)
@theanjo Not all that long, surprisingly. The Wily Capsule fight becomes instinctive after a bit, so Slash Man ends up being more of a problem due to him being far more random. Due to how all the others get so crippled, those were really the only two bosses to worry about.
you know, this stage has (personally) one of the best BGMs in the game and it kinda doesnt get the love it needs since it restarts every time u jump in a capsule...
One intersting fact about this Wily Capsule is that the game developers were thinking "Let's make the very last fight INSANELY hard!", so it was purposefully made to be tricky.
Inafune said he wanted to make the Capsule boss insanely difficult. What he didn't know is that there is a difference between "Difficult, but Fair" and "Difficult and Unbalanced" This is the latter. You literally have to use a really terrible weapon to do more than one damage to the capsule, and it's almost a roll of dice to dodge any of the attacks unless you have the skills of a Punch-Out player
@UsaSatsui Problem is, playing around means putting myself at risk of taking a hit... which is a serious no-no when I have so many bosses to get through in one stage... XD
I think the final battle of the game is why: 1. This was the only official 16-bit Megaman game. 2. Megaman wanted to kill Wily in the end. 3. Megaman has a girl's voice in the next game (courtesy of #2).
This is about the darkest and priciest Mega Man classic game. (1, 5, and Saturn 8 are up there in price) How would you feel if you foiled a well-known criminal's destructive plans 6 times, sent him to prison, then foil him a 7th time? You'd be pretty pissed that he didn't change his ways, nor would you trust him. I would've laid him out, but Killing Wily may have gotten this game a M rating. Also, Keiji Inafune would have no more use for the thousands of boss submissions that Capcom gets every year for Mega Man. There's enough to have made Mega Man 28 by now!
You're amazing. It took me over 15 tries to beat wily. His walker form is easy but the capsule form is harder. You have such precision with that wild coil
@SwerveStarEx Sort of... They both cause a damage over time sort of thing. The red ones burn Mega Man causing some extra damage, and THEN you get smacked by Wily's secondary attack, whereas the blue ones freeze you, making you helpless and getting pegged by Wily's secondary attack. They may not do more damage than the yellow's but they get you combo'd which does a LOT more damage. XD
thanks. i was having trouble on the capsule until you showed me helpful tips, and how to dodge those annoying little fire, thunder, and ice pellets easily! i made it on my second try. THX!!
10 years late, but Freeze Cracker only sends Burst Man towards you when you hit him with the ricocheting parts off of the wall behind him. If you hit him from the front after he is done shooting his bomb bubbles at you, it knocks him back like a charged shot from the buster.
I found out something interesting, Pink. If you hit him with Thunder Bolt, it won't do damage, but he won't shoot the orbs, so if you hit him with the Wild Coil then quickly switch to the Thunder Bolt and zap him, it's alot safer. If he's too high, you hide under him, slide to the side just as they move the first time then jump over them.
Yep, it is true that Shade Man's AI can be crippled with non-charged springs. And is it just me, or does the capsule fight look like it was sped up a bit?
It should be I'm GOING to do what I should've done years ago. *mocking* "Oh no time to translate every single sentence in this game, time is money" Pfft yeah whatever
Incredible job. Reading the Mega Man Official Complete Works game, the designers of the game confirmed they purposely tried to make this Wily battle incredibly difficult. The approach was to not have anyone be able to beat him without using up at least one energy tank, ha.
@@burstthroughtheconcrete Thanks. Oh and one more update: I beat him buster only with no damage at all during the fight...yeah, I'm shocked that happened.
Huh? Are? How is an attack that can stop his most annoying and powerful attack NOT "worth it"? Like I said, just hit him with the W.Coil first, then quickly switch to the T.Bolt. That was the only way I was even ABLE to beat this boss; my memory and reflexes are not good enough to master it the "normal way"!
Wily capsule in this game fucked you up really hard. Of course with pattern learning you can beat it, as anything else but it doesn't take away the fact that it's the most difficult classic Megaman fight to date.
I bet this will get really nasty when Roahm gets to it in his fortress runs. Doing the robot master rematches _and_ the Wily Capsule Buster only? Eesh!
As far as Shade Man's A.I., you can knock him out of the air if you know when to tag him with the Wild Coil. As far as Burst Man, you seem to do well with the Buster, but I like the Scorch Wheel because it can bust through his three spring-bubble attack without any charge and knock him back pretty far. But as long as he goes down, no big on what you use. The Wilymachine battle? I usually only get one shot at him... your skills put mine to shame.
FYI, if you hit Wily's capsule with T.Bolt, it prevents him from firing his 4 shots. That being said, your strategy is great too if you got good dodging skills.
Yeah, Mega Man's dialogue after defeating Wily, plus the interruption... That is a serious case of "The translator's minder got distracted by the phone". As well as more stupid Asimov worship that is seriously seriously stupid and out-of-place, especially considering how WILY'S ENTIRE SHTICK HIGHLIGHTS ONE OF THE HUGE FLAWS WITH THE NOTION THAT THE THREE LAWS ARE THESE AUTOMATICALLY-INGRAINED INVIOLABLE THINGS - A NOTION ASIMOV'S OWN WORKS DISABUSE!
Well... you're wondering what does the ending says in japanese? Wily: I'm sorry, Rockman, I won't do it again, forgive me! Rockman (Megaman): You won't deceive me again, Dr. Wily! Wily: You'll strike me?! You'll strike me?! ME?! You, a robot, to me, a human?! Megaman (returns his hand to normal): ... [the rest of the scene plays normal until Bass (Forte) appears] Bass (Forte): You won't lay a finger on Dr. Wily, Rockman! We lost this time... BUT! I'll be stronger next time! We'll meet again, Rockman! Bye! ...and the rest is normal, just that Megaman looks less angry and more lost in his thoughts.
Wily Capsule. I couldn't beat it until two years ago... When I discovered there was a shop. And I've had this game since 2004. Jeez, you make this boss seem like a joke.
I tried this, but even when the coils are fully charged, they bounce short of him and miss him when he's up high. When you do it the coil goes straight at him! How?!?
Is there something wrong with the Legacy 2 version of the game? My fully charged springs are never able to go high enough unless he is near the ground.
(I think I got the first complete view...) Do the Red and Blue shots also do different amounts of damage? I remember in Brutal Mario (An SMW hack) that the Blue ones hold you in place.
You made Wily battle look like a breeze even though it really isn't. This is absurdly clean run, fantastic job there.
2:39 What a beautiful background.
I never thought that a Wily Capsule no damage run was remotely possible. Well done!
MetalPersonJ i did it too but on the nitnendo switch

Very True. But Next door to T. Bolt is Freeze C. which does deal damage to Wily. Fire upward at an angle if need be.
Oh I get it! Shocker! Nice.
I'm gonna test it out if it works well for me then thank you so much you

WILY CAPSULE IS THE WORST BATTLE EVER, EACH TIME I'M ABOUT TO WIN I GET BUST UP.
Theresa Ward I'm still stuck on this one. this boss sucks
I FINALLY MAKE IT TODAY!!!
The music is fire though
It's tedious, but I can win with an Inventory full of E tanks.
That ending is one of Megaman's greatest moments.

I just use the Scorch Wheel the same way I use a charged Buster shot against Burst Man.
