I remember how difficult this game was as a kid. Some sections I still struggled with. This game brings so many memories. It was such an eye candy, sound effects were incredible. Truly a game ahead of its time. Thank you for sharing this 😊
This is my best Mega man game followed by 11 in the series....I play this game at least once a year since it always gives me the pep I need if i feel burnt out from work and adulting.
Generally I don't watch play throughs of games but there is something oddly soothing about watching a FLAWLESS play through of Mega Man. Add to that that Mega Man 8 is pretty entertaining with the anime cut scenes and really great music. It's easily my favorite of the entire franchise.
Despite the mediocre critical reviews upon release, you can still tell that a lot of love she's effort was put in to create the 8th iteration, with drastic visual and audio improvements compared to its predecessor. Capcom didn't trying to use "nostalgia" as an excuse for being lazy.
Love this game, the 2D art still looks nice and the music is top! The japanese voice acting is also much better than that weak american localization. This is the ideal way to play this game.
I remember renting this when I was younger when I first got my PS, it got me into the Mega Man series. The soundtrack is so damn good, that's what kept me playing.
Rockman 8, Mega Man 8, PSX, PSOne, good old days! The BGM on this gem is top notch! Kinda sad that lot of Japanese openings and endings are changed when it was localized.
That game is one of the best Megaman ever created. The artwork and colors in this game is insanely beautiful. Megan x4 and Megaman 8 are my personal preferences in the whole Megaman series

You really didn't knew Homing Sniper is Astro Man's weakness? If you use it in the battle, Astro Man has literally no chance, to move, nor evade, nor attack!
He should be know but decided to not stunlock the boss for challenging part (he also don't have the weakness weapon yet). This is also not speedrun video, which he doesn't use exploits to make battles/stage faster by intentionally taking damage or death...
This ost is second right after MMX1. The funky bass rhythms and melodies that match the environment. The jungle ost sounds like you're in a tropical zone, the artic ost sounds cold and isolated yet disco. The water biome sounds like. Paradise but with a funk twist, the volcano zone sounds Egyptian yet like you're in Montezuma's temple. Everything is so damn good.
I grew up with Megaman and love the series up to MM7 and I remember being so disappointed when I got it for my 9th birthday. The graphics, sound, and gameplay just weren’t up to snuff. Even the story was weird. To this day its my least favorite MM game. The cutscenes were cool though

I somehow remember this game slightly different... I remembered that the word 'READY' was supposed to be animated bouncing up and down every time in each stage... maybe I got it wrong... BTW,. amazing gameplay there.
This game brought me the first feeling of being proud when I found 1 more bolt than the local game magazine said they could all find. It felt like I was the most important person in the world at that point 😂
Always enjoyed the Brand new Way end credits theme song. That also includes the Electrical Communication song too even though it’s Japanese. Have you ever played the 8 bit version of MM8? You should try to do that in the mere future.

Nice gameplay. Megaman 8 had the potential to connect lose ends between the original Megaman and the X series. We got evil energy which is similar to a virus. Also there is the fact the original Megaman is M.I.A in the X series. The accepted theory is thatt Zero destroyed them all.
I've only seen it referenced once before, and only for the Sega Saturn version, but apparently you can fight Woodman from mm2 in this game in Searchman's stage. But I've never seen it in any other iterations...

It's the PS1 version with Lua scripts to display the bars, the bolt counter was added later and the cinematics were scaled witha progam called gigapixel

Damn. The amount of skill to play this no damage. The intro stage is the only stage I could do no damage and I could never get all the bolts even if I tried to.
How exactly did you get the Japanese voices with the English text? Is this the Legacy Collection version, or some sort of ROM/ISO hack? EDIT: I'm guessing "ROM/ISO hack", because the minibosses (especially the one from Tengu Man's stage) not only have Life Gauges they're normally not supposed to have, but the icon used is the same as for minibosses in Mega Man X4.
