DO’S versus DON’TS for heatless curls! 💇🏻♀️ I see a lot of comments on the socks unraveling so this is how I do it to fix that problem 🥰 #heatlesscurls #overnightcurls #noheatcurls
This reminds me of when my aunt gave herself REALLY TIGHT heatless curls with bendy straws, it took her almost 3 hours to do her whole head since she was using such little sections. And took her almost 2 hours to take out
thanks for the tips, super helpful!! i did. sock curls tonight and i will see the results tomorrow edit: it was cute! the curls weren’t too tight they loosen up as the day goes on. i would recommend dampening your hair before you do it and maybe adding some product to your hair. have a great day!
There are sooo many videos on doing these curls, but this is the best one I've seen! Most practical explanation and helps to troubleshoot what you could be doing wrong! Subbed! ❤
My hair was down to my knees up until just a month ago when I'd trimmed quite a bit off... it's now up to the bottom of my butt and Ive been using a lightweight scarf and a cloth headband that I'd connected the scarf to... It works like dreammm and I like it so much better than even leggings. I just wanted to give you ladies even more options/idea's.😁🤙
For really long hair... I use a Terry cloth bathrobe belt tie or a twisted tea towel (aka flour sack towel--it's thin cotton w/ a smooth nap also great for scrunching bc it doesn't yield frizz). Fold into a triangle then twist into a roll/log or use the robe tie as is. Place the center atop your head and do the hair twisting like normal. A light spritz of water on dry hair will aid the curl to set. I twirl each side into a space bun and secure w/ a scrunchie. Holds overnight. Key point, as she said: don't twist the sock as it'll just untwist upon letting go. Just twist the hair--twisting the hair AND coiling tightly w/ coils close together for a stronger curl.
Thank you!!! No one ever explains it like this and I had given up on it altogether. This clears up some confusion. Here we go, I'm gonna try it again 😅
Thank you being so precise with us🙌❣️ some shorts are sooooo speedy that I have to replay a few times which defeats the point of a short being clear, concise and short! But who has time for that. I got this!
I JUST stumbled on your TH-cam short and then watched a few other videos. I just want to say that I'm so glad that I did because your personality is hilarious and playful. I wish you made more videos! Keep doing you and thanks for the tips and tricks!
I think with the hair being damp it curls better, first time with sock curls but with French or Dutch braids wetting the hair a little makes a big difference or even using a mousse to define the curls/waves better
THANK YOU! I think my straight hair is more easy to manage but it’s way to basic! I love heatless curls that don’t require sleeping uncomfortably in French braids.
Hi guys!! I just tried this last night, and it worked out so well! Butibori have short hair so, it bunches out if u take unequal hair strands, so I would suggest taking equal hairstrands. Make sure the back of ur hair is nicely been wrapped cause it came out in my case. Now I have straight hair at the back and curly hair on the sides! 😂
I don’t need these videos bcz I have naturally wave hairs But first people think I have curls but I have waves ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ I am so happy 😁take care of yourself love yourself and stay safe take care of your hairs ❤
This totally worked. Like omg. I thought it wouldn't. But my long hair curled into sock curls that now bounce just past my shoulders. Thank you. Xxx ❤ I wish this trick was around when I was sin high school I would have saved so much time
Ooh I’ll definitely try the technique of pulling hair from the back I think that’s what i was missing since the front was super curly and the back was more straight when I tried it. Thank you so much!!
Tried it last night It’s not terrible, the curls are more just waves but they still look nice just not as thick as hers (I’m not sure if that’s just because of my hair type though) The socks are pretty hard to put in, this was my first time doing sock curls and it took about 30 minutes to get the socks in tight enough. It was also hard finding socks long enough to fit all my hair (my hair is really long). But it dose work just not as well, I’ll try it again tonight and see if it can be better.
Omg!!! You helped me big time!!! I have long heavy hair and curling them is a pain!!! But I came across your video and used stockings instead of socks and I never had better curls!!!! I wish I could post a picture
My mom was born in 1919 and this method was used when she was a girl d/t they couldn’t afford curlers. They would tear material and use pieces of that to wrap their hair. The called it rag setting. She always said their hair had beautiful curls afterwards.
I tried this and they both kinda loosened even though I did the “do” side, they’re literally exactly the same. They feel awful and are probably gonna come out awful too. Someone please reply to this so I can update you in the morning.
This is cute but it’s also super annoying that curly hair is coming back into style like I grew up hating my hair cuz it wasn’t straight and all the girls would straighten their hair and now it’s trendy?
Ok I'm trying this tonight curious how it will look like on my hair... And I finally have an excuse not to throw away my favorite socks because they have holes lol
Ive tried her method and I find that dry hair is more suitable. I don't use any products, but I've heard some girls use volumizing spray and stuff like that. I do apply oil when I take the socks off to soften my hair.
Yeah finally figured all this out on my own but would've helped earlier when I watched a bunch of tutorials and they oversimplified the whole process.. always makes me feel like I must just be unlucky or dumb or something
Try and see if your hair will be more manageable to wrap if it's more damp than dry.. experiment with the dampness, but adding water to your Locs should help them wrap around whatever you're using for these sock curls and then I would put a thick wide headband on afterwards to keep everything in place, maybe even a sleeping cap to top it off and add even more security😁👍
I have layers too. The key is to split your hair into 2 sections. I do the top half like this and the bottom half separately. So, I use 4 thick pieces of fabric. Hope I'm making sense.
@@Rose_xo980In a good way, whenever I curl my hair with a curling iron it can take me over an hour to curl it, and then they fall out in literally 10 minutes, no matter if my hair is clean or dirty or if I use half a can of hairspray. (My hair is 3 foot long and is to my butt lol) But doing it this way, my curls stayed for several hours and it only took 10 minutes to do
Omg finally!!! A person that actually explains how to really do this!!! Just subbed
Literally said “finally!!” Out loud because NOBODY ever explains it!!

My momma did my hair like this only with strips of fabric. We called them rag curls.
Yep. Just going back to how women did hair for hundreds of years with strips of fabric
My mom did that to my hair before but with papers
This reminds me of when my aunt gave herself REALLY TIGHT heatless curls with bendy straws, it took her almost 3 hours to do her whole head since she was using such little sections. And took her almost 2 hours to take out
My mom used stockings and we called it 'lokke' (in Afrikaans).😌
My mam would do this to my hair with strips of plastic carrier bags, it was impossible to sleep with them in haha

HOWD IT TURN OUT
Update?
How did it turn out?
@DJ Pauly D I tried it too worked AMAZING but I straitened the end so it looked more like I got a blow wave
Do you have to wet them before you do this?

You can never go wrong with soft wavy hair 🍦
I use a long satin scarf and do a very similar technique cause of all my layers!
The satin scarf is better because it doesn’t draw out moisturize
I think I'll try it that way! Like the other person said the silk scarf is better bc it doesn't dry out your hair

Use a long silk scarf or a pair of leggings
The problem is I have layers so this and the leggings are really hard because my hair doesn’t want to stay, super cute though!
