One more tip: when you are drying with the brush, you'll get more shine if you angle the concentrator attachment towards the ends of your hair. I learned about that in a book called How to Look Expensive (hate the name and the product recommendations are out of date, but otherwise really helpful). The author says that works because it encourages the cuticle to lay flat. After I read that, I started paying attention, and my stylist always does this.
@@jmdqql3 When you point the blow dryer at your hair, turn your wrist so the air is blowing parallel to your hair strands, and towards the ends. (Not at a right angle to your strands or towards your roots.) This only applies when you're using the brush.
Hey girl, thank you for emphasizing that there is nothing wrong with the “done at home” side. You are absolutely right and people need to hear that more often. To each their own, and positivity either way is the best! ❤
I am a hairdresser and a little tip is that once the hair is dry you do not need to apply more heat protectant before styling because the first application is still on your hair! Sometimes adding layers and layers of products can weigh the hair down and make it greasier quicker. But if your hair is drier or coarser and the product helps tame it by all means do that! :) By the way your hair looks gorgeous 💕

a tip i like to do mostly: when showering i always rub the shampoo in both of my hands other than adding it straight away in my hair. after that i then rinse it off with warm water. when adding conditioner, i comb my hair down with my hands (dont add it on top of your head) then rinse it off with cold water. after taking a shower i dont immediately blow dry it. I leave it for 1 hour so that it smoothen my hair. after that i blow dry it a bit in a cold temperature. adding hot temp makes it frizzy and dry. this is probably basic tips but these are for people who have wavy/frizzy hair like me :)
Basically anything that is salon worthy just takes more time and attention. Ive found that I always want the salon result but I’m so lazy and always take the quickest route
If you learn to use a round brush, you can do the salon side even faster by using a smaller barrel round brush to create the curl/wave you want. While it’s still on the barrel blast with a bit of cool air at the end and then clip the curl with a long clip and to let it finish setting while you work on the next section. Blow down the hair shaft as well rather then diricting the heart right at the hair when using a concentrator nozel. Doing so will give you a smoother finish.

You have fine hair with alot of volume. But for me who has fine hair with low volume I am better off using little to zero heat. Spray some leave in conditioner, air dry for an hour, get the remaining wet part (usually the scalp) blow dried. Feeling the heat in the hair you can do rolls wraps or buns to give you that curly natural look. Spritz some hairspray or oil to maintain it. You can skip the blow drying too if it dried faster and just set it with oil.
0:04 I have the same hair style as u, but a bit more wavy and it gets so annoying when I brush it because I turn into winter jacket (the fur part of the hood)
Your hair is beautiful, mine used to be like that, natural wavy curls. Sadly I have lost a lot due to mental health and hormonal imbalance. I’m trying to regain it back. 😔
The problem with the salon way is not that people don't really know that they select hair but it's that it takes lot of time when you do it yourself if your hair is long. Especially if you curl it after. So it's just easier to dry it regular way if you need to go somewhere
Best solution would be a hair buddy to do each others hairs😮 the hardest part about doing the salon way is the arm workout you get doing it alone, doing it for someone else is easier

hi in my experience this is a look that stays overnight bc the heat ‘straightens’ the hair from the hairdryer. you might want to not style daily/style daily just using a flat brush and maybe an oil or frizz cream if your hair is dry. and then tie up if you go for a shower or something. a good way to kind of seal a style is to use the coldest setting on your hair dryer at the end. the hair cuticles open up when you use heat so when you use the coldest setting when ur hair is around 95 percent dry it closes them again and seals the look. of course keep in mind ur own hair texture but if you’re heat styling it every day there is going to be a little heat damage even if you use protectant
but always use protectant! it’s a safe hairstyle to do twice a week depending on how many days you need to wash your hair. eventually ur hair will get ‘trained’ to have the look easier over time. if u sleep with ur hair in a low bun at the nape of your neck it’s easier to keep it bc ur body is naturally warm bc of internal temperature so it keeps it straight during the night
