I tried taking the tarp roof off during bad storms as the frame was anchored down with straps so the frame didn't really move. It lasted up until about 8 months ago when very strong winds caught it when I wasn't home. Well worth the money in my opinion for what it is intended for
I've been wanting the Harbor Freight enclosed garage for less than $200, but after seeing this, I might go instead for a couple of these jobs... $100 barely buys a dinner for two anymore. Hell, you could have a barbecue in a rainstorm under one of these.
I live in the southwest, along the border. The sun bakes everything to shreds, be it plastic, vinyl, cloth, you name it. He said he’s had it up a couple of years, and I’m wondering what type of climate he lives in. If it holds up that we’ll, maybe it’s worth the purchase?
$100 worth it! I dont even remember what shoes I had then but still have this. I live along nc/sc border so no extreme weather but a little of everything. It is still up the only downside was it wasn't tight and started to trap water. After a rain I'd take a broom and push water out. It finally ripped about 3 inches now it drains itself and still holds up
Do you think adding a couple feet to each leg would affect the stability? I want to put one up to cover my RV trailer. Do you think it will handle California sun.. several days around 100 degrees.
Make sure everything is mounted together sturdy, i dont see why not. As far as cali weather, you will get your money worth but don't expect it to be permanent. I want to buy another one 😆
@@poorperformance8850 thank you, I want to raise it about 3-4 feet and put some heavy anchors on it, the wind here gets pretty rough. I like your anchors on the grass side, but I might have to weld some plates on tractor disk for the other side so I can drive over them.
And i drove 1inch solid fiberglass pole 28-30 inches in the ground and slide the legs over the poles. Thing isnt going anywhere and i havent put one strap on it
I'd like to know what happens if you get 60 mph wind and I can see a heavy wet snow doing a number on the "roof" The roof material looks like tarp material so if it were me I would just replace it with tarps when it starts to show serious wear. You have the frame so you're halfway to redoing the whole thing. I would be using the 20% coupons and be laying in the roof replacement tarps ahead of time. Your set up is good for being in a rental. There'll be no complaints about holes in the concrete which if there were, some Rockite would fill in the screw holes. Thanks for showing your work and the reminder of using grommets. G.M.
Amazing , How did you get the light up there....And is it possible to place the legs in the ground, maybe on top of rock , topped with concrete or something.....im buying one ??
At the price point you can almost use your imagination and get great results. I've seen them in concrete, using 4x4 in ground and bolt together, just tethered to ground etc. Think of your weather conditions first then decide the best mounting. Occasionally I will see hurricane or tornado threat so I take the tarp off
I'd love to know how to make those temporary walls because I want to make a small enclosure with windows for a place to have my kids play. I made a little 10x10 but it's too small I want to make a 10x20 and then connect that to the 10x10 we already have but it doesn't look like I can buy something like that with the windows and doors where I want them.
I’m wondering the same thing, as the desert would bake this thing to shreds. He said he’s had it up a couple of years, so I’m guessing it’s humid where he lives.
I say if you need one and it last 3 years, you made a good investment. And it looks like you can throw your own tarp over it after a couple summers. Just don't let it blow away if you live in a windy area.
That will definitely help with the shade! Makes sense
We didnt get much winter so I'm thinking summer going to be really sweaty 🥵
@@poorperformance8850 Do they make...or can you make your owm sidewalls somehow?
@@SimplyJustRandomness They do make a "sidewall kit" with one end wall for another $110.00
@@SimplyJustRandomness I make my walls with tarps and grommet kit so they are easily removed/installed
You got some great ideas we really can use a guy like you at Adams outdoor advertising
Great video. My area is only 12 x 9 feet. Do you think I can change the size by cutting the frame pipes?
Thank you for The Cool Video Man 👍🏼
Thanks for commenting, I bought another frame and built a 20x24 with both. Video coming soon 👀

Cool thanks I'm looking at this to keep The tree sap from at least getting all over my windshield.
I’m buying 1 today from Harbor I’m planning on putting it up with my buddy we’ll be using concrete anchors, it’s for my 1969 Impala
how did it do? did you do a video?
Do you think it would be too much trouble to take down and put up every couple weeks ?

Good job bud, I need one for my boat for the price that cool 👍
Definitely worth it and lasts longer than shoes the same price 😆
Great grandpa's has had his since I could remember... 20 years strong.
i wonder if the steel is thinner now

With painting, you can also air it out if you attach the drop down walls as the author has mentioned being his intention.

The tarp didn't fit on ours too small Harbor freight is sending a new one in 2 weeks ,after arguring with costumer service and then manager
The poles are different lengths make sure they are in the right place. My top lasted 3 years

Can you lower the legs? Are the legs adjustable
Not from factory but you can change it

Those cheap tent don't last long they're not for snow or strong winds

Maybe look into a wedding canopy they have "windows/doors" in some
There are walls w/ windows you can purchase.
Awesome!! Where did you get the light, is it a plug in? Thanks
Thanks, man. Great info.. Appreciate it!
PS - where about are you? Looks gorgeous out back there.

He had it for a couple years sitting around but up for only a few months.
Love that car. Sure she needs work, but she deserves it.
Its definitely coming along i need to post a new video
Didn't say anything about how hard it is to put together and if one person can do it .
surprised the plastic tarp held up hf tarps last 6 months at most they deteriorate to nothing one summer..
What size self tapping screws did you use?
Small 1 inch long maybe, just to go through the pipes where they slide together
thanks for the information
I pd 99$ for mine . Got it soni can keep my wheeler under it and oit of the weather
Are the poles plastic or metal?
They are metal. That’s why he used self tapping screws
Lasted one wind storm ⛈
Great tips
Won’t work in a normal side by side 16 ft wide double garage. Stakeouts be in the way of the other car .
I am indeed planning on adding a second one right beside and changing the way they are held down
Come back in a year
I've had it up for over a year now already, still intact 👍

What's the actual size from pole to pole? I'm just a few inches short of 10 feet and I'm trying to see if I can fit it. Thanks
