He's even mocked Murphy who got called by Chris Nolan for preparing as Oppenheimer 6 months before production on Vanity Fair Interview while he said he learnt to conduct for 7 years for Maestro. Sadly, what he did was for a desperation to win an Oscar not for a talent, hardwork or quality. His co-star, Carey Mulligan is the true star in Maestro not him.
Also, last year, there was Tar, another conductor movie starring Cate Blanchett. So, Maestro is like male version of Tar.

I loved how he acknowledged everyone with a handshake. Matthew McConaughey pulled him in for a "bro hug" (Matthew's a hugger). I'm also guessing that Cillian was thanking Ben Kingsley for his kind words.
I love Cillian's nervous laugh before he speaks and his body language, where he rubs his face and glances at the audience, almost looking like he had no idea why he was there. He humanized the act of receiving this most prestigious award. He made it seem very nonchalant. What made it even more fabulous is he then gave a speech that came in under two minutes. He didn't attempt to prophesize the award or the film. He thanked who needed thanking and exited stage right. So refreshing in todays times of bloatedness.
On a side note, I am happy to see more of Brandon Fraser in public in recent years. Good for him. Also, congrats to Cillian Murphy.
