Muslim questions a Sikh - Dawah Man VS Basics of Sikhi

  • Basics of Sikhi organised the Urban Turban Sikhi Awareness event in Hounslow. Imran Ibn Mansur Khan (AKA Dawah Man) from Islam Hounslow approached us for a short Q&A. It lasted one hour and was filmed. Note, we were not looking to debate them and neither are we interested in criticising Islam or trying to point out flaws or even trying to prove Sikhi to them. Therefore, most of the conversation is revolved around the questions by Brother Imran (Dawah Man).
    We thank him and the Islam Hounslow team for being very civil on the day. As Guruji teaches us, we are all human and should try and get along in spite of our differences, as the greater good lies in recognising our similarities. May Vaheguru/Allah help us all to have compassion in our hearts and to submit our ego to his will and call upon his Name. Vaheguru!
    Here is a link to Guru Nanak Dev ji's writings on Islam (for a Sikh, this is Gods own view on Islam) www.sikhitothemax.com/Page.asp...
    Lets hope that the Islam Hounslow team may be true Muslims of this type. Vaheguru.

SIKHISM DOES BELIEVE IN THESE CORE VALUES . but people will be people and they can be mean and nasty whether Moslems Hindus Christians or even Sikhs.the need is to propogate Sikh faith and its teachings to ALL people . guru singh I just find alot of western modern sikhs telling me that sikhs saved hindus from muslims (we would have been wiped out) , when the sikhs fighting the mughals where the sons and grandsons of hindus fighting for there hindu families and Indian country, secondly the sikhs put up a great fight for about 90 years but we where fighting them for 700 years, without out the aid of the UK's also attacking the muslims the gurus senior officers would have been older hindus trained in shastra vidya,there alot of other stuff also that bothers me

      truth cannot be owned by a single person or a group or a sect or to say religion . universal truth is just truth and has no form shape color etc. how can a create be bigger than creator , how can a person of flesh and blood can be truth. YES THEY CAN HAVE GLIMPSES OF TRUTH AND BECOME ONE WITH THE CREATOR BUT STILL CANNOT EXPLAIN THE GREATNESS AND BENOVELENCE OF THE SUPREME CREATOR. person of flesh and blood has to go one day but the truth prevails before during and after. WE CAN TELL A LOT ABOUT RELIGION BY LOOKING AT THE FOLLOWERS AND THIER WAY OF LIVING , IS IT PIOUS , FORGIVING OR JUST TRYING TO INCREASE NUMBERS BY HOOK OR CROOK. . SIKHISM IS NOT INTERESTED IN NUMBERS AND ONLY INTENDS TO PURIFY ONE'S SOUL , INNER BEING AND TAKE CARE OF HUMANITY , CAMPASSION FOR FELLOW BEINGS . I THINK THIS IS TRUTH AND TRUTHFUL LIVING EMBODIED IN SIKH TEACHINGS. waheguru

      wtf; why does he have to do anything for Sikhism; his mom was saved by a man who migh have been a sikh so does that mean he has to be indebted what kind of a sick mentality is this; how are hindus ungrateful; they are not indebted to us we never did anything for them; our Guru's and Sikh's of old time did Sacrifice a lot; they sacrificed for their fellow brother's they fellow countrymen they didnt sacrifice their lives so u can come here and bash them; the Guru's gave their lives for hindus but never did they believe or think that the hindus owed them something; hindus dont owe us anything; they have praised us for years like because of these Hindus we are called Sardars; because of these hindus our Sikh community is respected all over india while we only represent 2% OF THE POPULATION; hINDUS DONT OWE US ANYTHING INFACT ITS VICE versa we the Sikhs owe hindus for all the respect they have given us and our Guru's; they gave our Guru's the same place in their heart and culture as they give to lord shiva krishna or ram; we Owe the Hindu's because of these Hindus are we known as brave and courageous race

    Sikhism lost a most powerful individual. When you see Jagraj debating, your heart has to be softened towards the religion. He is so articulate in how he explains the religion.
    I think he would have gone on to do huge things within the religion, so shocking to know that his time was so limited. Hopefully, he sits with his guru in eternal bliss now.

      @@r3ggi3000 Yes, he passed away and his death is a great loss. However, both Twelver Shi'ite Muslims and Sikhs agree on many things including re-incarnation. So, yes, all true Muslims are Sikhs and the gurdwara is a true masjid as Sikhs continue to meditate on the name of God daily. I live in Malaysia and I love the free food in the Gurdwara Sahib Melaka, Jalan Temenggung. I know the month of May, there is a very big festival called Santa Baba Sohan Singh anniversary as he is great Sikh missionary who freed many people from darkness. Islam (meaning submitting to the will of God) has existed since the dawn of mankind. Sikhs cannot even claim that about their religion. Sikhism was made by a fraud around 500 years ago basically. And nonsensical beliefs like reincarnation is enough to know its not a true religion. No offense.

      Ever wondered a truly loving and caring father telling his kids that you'll burn in hell if you don't listen to me. I'm a father of a Son and I know I have an unconditional love for him. It's my duty to instill good values in him but even if he won't listen I won't wish anything bad for him and I'm sure no other parents think like that.
      So for me, even common sense refute that whole line. God is loving, forgiving, caring and just want good for us.

Many relatives of the Prophet converted after this incident but sadly they were all maliciously killed with the Head Imam of Mecca by the Amir as recorded in Arabic records which were researched by the Prince of Mirpur (now in Pakistan) who was also a Saeed & relative of the Prophet & after reading the records in Saudi Arabian libraries when he went there to study to become a Molvi with his father King & stayed to study, later on, his return to India he converted to Sikhi too & became a great Sikh leader he even laid the foundation for the biggest Gurudwara in Europe which is in South Hall, London!

Killing, raping, parading women naked and setting them on fire, kidnapping women and girls, desecrating bodies, smashing babies heads against walls. What makes it worse is that they did it as a nation, it was not some bad individuals doing it. And sikhs were just 4 million in 1947. They pride themselves at being good at warfare and they used that to commit these atrocities. Ambushed trains packed with people heading for Pakistan and killed everyone except driver, so he can take all the dead bodies to pakistan. But before that they desecrated the dead bodies by removing eyes, cutting off womens breasts and making into piles. Around 68 children under the age of 8 were killed on one train.

    The Sikh chap is very impressive, whereas for me the muslim guy is very well intentioned. Sikhism appears to be a much more tolerant and accepts that all religions allow man to connect with God. I like this. Christianity for me is great but claims that you can only to get to God through Christ,and are doomed to hell if you back the wrong horse.. I am not convinced by this, and this video has given me food for thought.

      islam is exclusive, sikhism hinduism, bhuddism (The True Religions - in terms of being at peace with nature, respecting elements we would die without etc) are ALL inclusive. You can pray whichever way you prefer to whomever you prefer to pray to i.e. could be Jesus, Allah or Krishna - all sincere prayers will reach The Divine Soul - or God as he is also known as.

      @harshtiwari7503 7 ปีที่แล้ว +21

      dude that's how they fool you to convert people by making them fear. I am not disrespecting Christianity but that's what people do. see in hinduism it's told that. you can follow any religion or faith but to see the god you must find a true soul or guru. as the Sikhs and Hindus call them the guru doesn't see your religion. he just sees your eagerness to meet the god. the guru is like a bridge to connect to god. Jesus himself was a guru. or as you may say a true saint. Jesus led people to the truth. a true saint has the power to show you the almighty himself. that's the eternal truth

    • @edsharpe2800
      @edsharpe2800 7 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      Good reply. I am a follower of Christ but struggle with the dogma of Christianity. This idea that you can only meet God through Christ is nonsense to me. I also struggle with the bible. The Romans persecuted the Christians until Constantine converted in 312. He then got to decide what went into the bible and the Pope became the direct link to God-----i mean give me a break. As for protestants, that came about because the Pope wouldn't let Henry 8 divorce - where does God fit into this madness? Christianity and Islam are all about fear, but the teachings of Jesus himself are just awesome.

      +Alan kimachi Wong Today, our miracle is The Holy Guru Granth Sahib Ji (word of God). The ONLY scripture to be checked/written through its' founders. The Gurus were well educated, multi-lingual, well spoken, could read and write. The Holy Guru Granth Sahib Ji is written in 'raag' - musical note format (not chapters). It has a unique numbering system, making it unable to be altered; one cannot change a note in the melody. The miraculous thing is, as it is poetically scribed in raags, The Guru Granth Sahib Ji makes a human sing the hymns via use of instruments, The Gurus were musicians. It is stated by science today; to play musical instruments and singing, it enlarges the human brain, all areas of the brain connect to the universe. The universe is a vibration, energy, this is how we connect to WaheGuru (God), through love, from mind and heart on the shabads (verses), meditating on WaheGuru. Sikhi does not wish to prove The Quran or any religion to be false or wrong. Sikhi mentions and respects all religions and dharms from Hinduism/Buddhism/Jainism to Islam/Christianity/Judaism. Our goal/aim/mission is to become one with The Creator, which is the ultimate goal for a human. The Sikh Gurus performed miracles during their time, however not for any such personal glory.

    Sikhism won this debate, the Muslim guy was just debating and making his own religion important and putting the Sikh guy down, The sikh guy understood all religions and did not impose Sikhism on anyone. I believe this is the reason why people have so much hatred towards muslims because they do not listen to others, they just want to point there across and believe there religion is only correct.

      Ma'am if u were watching it as a debate
      Or to see who wins i guess that u didn't take anything significant from it.
      And don't refer to Muslim as a whole i'm a sikh and i believe the ones who r like that are the ones who misinterpreted their faith and are going away from the right path.
      Hope so u didn't mind me😅

      Sam blanc, start reading the text of guru granth sahib ji. You will easily find the english version (meaning) on the internet.
      Along with that, read books on sikh gurus, sikh martyrs etc. A good source is sikhbook club where you can find books on almost everything related to sikhism

    I'm of muslim descent, and I think that the Sikh man is a really nice guy. The dawah man was so blatantly feels his religion is so superior and was too eager to impose. I think the Sikh guy was genuinely intent on preserving his message of letting people believe whatever they wanted, and it was a connection to God that was important. That's just the way it comes across to me, and I have a new found respect for Sikhi. And I think he won.

    • @Neklank
      @Neklank 10 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      From what I can see this was never about winning or losing. Singh Ji made valid points and Dawah man through his intolerance for other faiths dug his own grave. Praise of humans is fruitless as we cannot even lift a finger without the grace of the Lord Va-he-Guru Sahib. Even the Sikh greeting always mentions victory belongs to Vaheguru and in all instances.

    • @MrSussify
      @MrSussify 10 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Fair point. I'm not sure that it was about winning or losing either. I just didn't appreciate the way it was made into a conversation about superiority. It was unnecessary, I would have preferred a conversation that took some of the beauty within both faiths, its almost as though the dawah man's praise was insincere. Oh well, I took a look at some Sikh prayers, respect to the Sikh Religion, its community, and its message. God Bless.

      Agree, we should always look for the good in each other and parallels where faith is concerned. The destination is the same, how we get there and what route we take is different.
