Water or fluval is always my go to. 🤩

I’m not sure those are spider plants either, they do look a bit suspicious. My suggestions would be to place them in water, as you did, but I would choose a shorter jar so those leaves can breathe. Something like the short, fat salsa jars. I’ve been growing spider plants since I was 13 (I’m 63) and I’ve only ever grown them in basic potting mix. I’ve never ever seen one go that crispy.

I think you did the right thing! By the way, mine is in those tiny LECA pebbles and is generally doing great, if I stay on top of watering 😅 My experience is that it’s super thirsty and starts flopping over and leaves bend and snap as soon as it gets dry. Then I get the brown tips because of that too. Those are my struggles with my spider plant 😄

The more established spider plant is already giving me babies but that one I'm rehabbing is a work in progress. LOL!

@@mixonplantsncrafts I was wondering, are you sure the rehab one is a spider plant? Because there were so many individual ones in there, it looked to me like variegated ribbon grass 😅

Does it look like variegated ribbon grass? It was sold to me ( 2 different plants) as spider plants. :(

@@mixonplantsncrafts I’m not sure it’s that but the growth pattern reminds me of it. With spider plants you could have two, three, five bunches of individual plants in the pot but this one had so many 🤔 Im also looking at something called a “flax lily” right now that looks similar… Look it up, that might be what you have!
