Cooking, cleaning and caring for children during the day, Chen Hualiang takes on household tasks that many Chinese fathers tend to leave to their wives. Chen’s experiences not only buck a deep-rooted patriarchal tradition - they have also inspired a hit television show. The former project manager gave up the workplace rat race to join the growing ranks of what are known as "full-time dads" in China. The trend has coincided with a broader recognition of women's rights and access to higher education in the country. But despite embracing the unconventional gender role, many full-time dads still face pushback from their families and the wider community.

women rightly no longer believe in sacrificing their whole adult life for childcare. I believe it's only right for us men to share the responsibility, and it will be better for the mother's psychology

Yeah, sure. Except women aren't the ones doing the most dangerous jobs. They aren't the ones dying on wars. I'll take, taking care of my seed over working on a hot roof in July any day of the week.

@koibitothescrublord4977 most men don't go to war nor do they want to fight in one. Blame men for forcing men into it if u want. And this majorly applies to men who work a normal 9-5 just like other women.

@@koibitothescrublord4977 You make it sound like women never been to war. Childbearing and fertility pain (monthly menstrual pain, menopause, etc).
Basically everyone have their own personal pain. As for stay home dad or stay home mom, it doesn’t matter who. It is a household chores, as long as one of the parents take up that task. That should be fine.

He seems to be a genuine and loving father. Although, as what other mentioned he seems depressed. His wife is more ambitious and doesn't appear to respect him that much.

My condolences to the millions of Chinese who have been affected by the 3vil China one-child policy 🇨🇳 resulting in a rise in abortions of female fetuses and an increase in the number of female children who were placed in orphanages or were abandoned

He has a wife, and kids. Take note of that. More and more women are looking for this kind of man, someone who's willing to partake in child-raising duties&household chores, as they too working for the family(not just for her own pocket money). If China wants to see more marriage, and more kids being born, then encouraging their men to be like the man in the video is the answer.
Unless a man is wealthy enough to guarantee his wife&kids life if something happens to him, these days most households in the world consist of two breadwinners, not just one. Wives don't work just for her own supplementary money anymore, they need to work to contribute to the actual family finance. Only wealthy man can employ staffs for his wife to manage, the rest are depending on the husband&wife as the workers themselves. If a man is willing to forgo the idea of being the sole breadwinner, he should also forgo the idea of the wife being the sole homemaker.

Excellent video except i dont think this role should be played just to put women in equally spaces, the point is that women and men should work less because parenting is working and lots of other things as well are but are not viewed as it is

Men need women to not get lonely....whereas women need other women to raise kids and run society......by earth nature ....this is followed by most mammals.
Support maternal society to tackle falling birth rate as just man -woman partnership falling to give security, safety to new offsprings when men could easily run away from responsibility anytime....
Better to raise offsprings in safe and secure maternal homes at early 20s with the help of maternal granny ,sisters, cousins....

He looks depressed somewhat. It may sound off topic but I chanced on this cool translator that does everything and more of what a translator should have, name is Immersive Translate and one thing that can really help is it’s new feature, which lets you create a custom AI expert for translating anything. Thank me later, it's gold.

Ridiculous, look at their home, they can afford a nanny. No man would give up a well paid job, no matter the stress! And also, in china, traditionally grand parents have some part in looking after grandkids.

      T. Someone who hasn’t raised a child
There’s a reason the one breadwinner one caretaker family is ideal, it doesn’t really matter who stays home.
Pretty sure it’s actually the cultural norm in a few south american countries for the woman to be the breadwinner and the dude to housekeep
Not everyone has their parents around to raise their spawn for them
