The Everlys were 2 really life brothers from Kentucky. Don who was the oldest by 2 years sang the melody & Phil supplied the signature harmony. They are mega important in music history. They are in every Hall of Fame coming & going, stars on all the walks of fame, have parks & buildings all over the place named after them. They are globally recginized as one of the most influential, innovative & creative duos in all of music. Pioneers in the formation of a whole genre of music; rockabilly. First artists in Rock to be awarded a million dollar recording contract. In later years they received the prestigious lifetime achievement Grammy & raised money to help out their hometown, Central City, Ky. Masters of harmony & synchronicity. And by all accounts they were 2 really great human beings. Bob Dylan said that all musicians today "Owe everything" to them.
The Everly Brothers were big beginning in the late 50s and continued through the 60s. Besides their melodic voices they were also recognized as great songwriters. Wake Up Little Susie was another huge hit for them. Thanks for reacting to the Everly Brothers. 👏👏🇨🇦❤️
This song or any Everly Brothers song was ever in _"Back To The Future."_ Marty McFly goes back to 1955. "All I Have To Dream" was released in 1958. "Kathy's Clown" was released in 1960.
Love The Everly Brothers harmonies. They started out when they were really young in the 50's-60's. They influenced a lot of the groups that came after them. They had so many hits such as "Bye Bye Love", "Wake Up Little Susie", "Cathy's Clown", "Problems", "When Will I Be Loved", "Bird Dog", "So Sad (To Watch Good Love Go Bad)", "Walk Right Back", "Crying In The Rain" etc. Sadly neither of them is alive now. But they left a great legacy of music.
My 11 yrs older sis used to play this 45 disc on her little portable over and over; I was 6 at the time, but memorized the lyrics anyway! Thanx for the very good time with this reaction Tasha!
I'll bet half a generation was conceived during this song lol! If you're interested in checking out more of these two there's an absolutely stunning performance of 'Let It Be Me' from their reunion concert back in the early 80s.
Everly brothers direct and huge influence on Beatles and everybody really. Cathy’s clown was progressive for it’s day and Phil Everly is a master class in rhythm guitar.
These guys have so many songs. It will be a deep rabbit hole. Even Simon & Garfunkel will tell you that they are the greatest vocal duo ever. Check out Love hurts by them. I saw them on their comeback tour in the mid-80s and they were a slice of heaven.
The song has been used in films as well as TV commercials. Back in the 50's and 60's, music groups were well-groomed, including impeccably styled hair.
I love how they sound like they are perfectly compressed because their levels are so consistent. But that is 1960 Y'all and if you notice they keep moving closer and further from the microphone, well that is two die hard pros there. Because that beautiful sound is all them knowing where to be at what part of the song.
I saw them in Vegas in the mid 80s. They were reuniting for the first time after a famous on-stage breakup that kept them apart for more than a decade. They were wonderful!
After starting off their career as children with their parents in the 40´s aged 5 and 7, they appeared on the pop scene in 1957 and were very sucessfull throughout the 60´s. They disappeard from the radar in the 70´s and were back in the charts all of a sudden in the 80´s when they reunited and did 3 awesome studio albums in that decade, the first one even entering the top 10 in some european countries and their single "Wings of a Nightingail" from 1984 gaining platinum status. It got quiet around them in the 90´s when they were starting to age they eventually retired in 2005. Phil Everly died in 2014, his older brother Don in 2021. They had the best harmonies in music histories and taught greats like Simon&Garfunkel, the Beach Boys, The Mamas & Papas and the Beatles how to harmonize.
I watch this from time to time just for your reaction. It's so nice and encouraging to see someone of your generation appreciating the Everly Brothers.
When my brother were 9 & 10 a singing instructor heard us sing. She said we sounded great and could be the next brother duo band. She was going to pay for a singing coach for us but died on the way to set it up. There was no way my family could pay for something like that so that was end of possible singing career.
Phil is considered the greatest harmony singer of all-time. No argument from me. Beach Boys have fabulous harmonies, but much more complex, for four or five voices. This song is used all over the place. The Everly's were terrific songwriters, too.
Wow Tasha , these guys were so awesome bak then. Every one of their songs were hits . Wake up Little Susie is one of my favourites from them . Can you play a song from the DRIFTERS . When you get a chance not many music channels play the Drifters songs and they were such a great group Thanks Tasha loved your reaction as always . John
They had such great harmonies, and being brothers ,their tones and note length were so similar that they were unique .Phil looks like my grandsson(taller brother) :) The Beatles were influenced by the brothers and even incorporated that end bow into their own stage performances in the early 60s.
Where have you heard that song before? Short answer, TV ads, movies, classic radio stations. It’s one of the bigger hits from its era. So I would say you’ve probably heard it more times than you think.
Hi Tasha😘Interesting note the band that's backing them is Buddy Holley band and I think Phils Daughter went with Axel Rose Erin Everly and wrote the song "Sweet Child of Mine" with Guns and Roses
The older I get, as much as I love the music of my era (Im 42) I prefer the older tunes, especially old 60s and 70s reggae.. Id love to see a reaction of 007 by Desmond Dekker. Such a great tune and the video is incredible footage of regular people in Jamaica dancing to the music as they go about their days....its really great.
There’s nothing like harmony from blood relatives! Randy, Jeff, and Ted from Alabama were cousins. Tasha, you should check out The Glaser Brothers some time. Tompall Glaser owned “Hillbilly Central” that Waylon and Willie recorded in and Hazel was Secretary of. He and his two brothers were from Nebraska and harmonized on absolutely amazing compositions! The best was probably their version of a Kris Kristopherson song-“(Lovinger her was easier) than anything I’ll ever do again “
You may haveheard the song ,"All I Have to Do Is Dream," in the Rodney Dangerfield comedy "Ladybugs" (1992) during a romantic dream sequence featuring teen actor Jonathan Brandis. It's a sweet and funny film. I would recommend it for one of your future movie reactions.
Tasha I wonder if you might come up with a series of the top 10 rock and roll songs from like 1955 to 1980 or the top 5 just asking i love your reactions to great music 🎶🎶🎶🎶
The everly brothers, the righteous brothers chad & Jeremy make you feel good about life and love. I sure miss the best years of music 50s 60s 70s and 80s since then I don't like or listen to anything past that time its noise pollution
Bummer they fought for so long with each other (15 years) other over songwriting $$/Credit, But at least they patched it up in the 80's and performed together for the next 20 years..After all, they were family
Tasha its a major sin or better yet Criminal not to have reacted to at least one Don Gibson (50 &60) singer /songwriter. Don would hit with BLUE BLUE DAY, LOMESOSOME NUMBER #1, SEA OF HEARTBREAK, LEGEND IN MY TIME. etc! And writer of SWEAT DREAMS (Patsy Cline) I CANT STOP LOVING YOU (Ray Charles) as well as others!
The Beatles, Bee Gees, Simon & Garfunkel, and the Beach Boys all credited the Everlys for their influence on their music.

Perfectly described, I couldn´t say it any better!
The Everly Brothers were big beginning in the late 50s and continued through the 60s. Besides their melodic voices they were also recognized as great songwriters. Wake Up Little Susie was another huge hit for them. Thanks for reacting to the Everly Brothers. 👏👏🇨🇦❤️
The backing band is the Crickets who played with Buddy Holly.

Oh, yeah. The Everly Brothers, you just can't beat the sort of harmonies achieved by singing together for nearly as long as they're able to talk.
Love The Everly Brothers harmonies. They started out when they were really young in the 50's-60's. They influenced a lot of the groups that came after them. This is why Paul McCartney said to let "Phil and Don" in to see him in his song "Let Them In". They have that Texas drawl that is so pleasing.
My 11 yrs older sis used to play this 45 disc on her little portable over and over; I was 6 at the time, but memorized the lyrics anyway!

Stunning harmonies by the Everlys! Then you have Buddy Holly’s Crickets playing along with them. Great performance
Best 2 part harmony ever

One of the most popular "slow dance" songs of the decade.
Classic beautiful song.

What an Epic Duo! That’s genuine Rock-A-Billy! 😎🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
When we were first married I was very restless when trying to fall asleep so my hubby would hold me still and sing “Dream” to me . ❤
It was so good to hear this, again. I sang along, in my truck, full volume. And, in my head, I was harmonising perfectly, with the Everlys.
Those voices and tight harmonies... 🔥❤️
It’s amazing how good the music used to be before all the auto tune and technology got involved in it straight beautiful music
this song has been used in so many movies and commercials everybody has heard it many times!!!!
I miss them, and that simple music that sounds so amazing. Great reaction, thanks!
They had awesome harmonies. Both were great songs and a blast from the past. Walk on By from Dionne Warwick was a great song from the 60's.
If you want to see and hear a great concert check out "Everly Brothers Reunion Concert" live at royal Albert Hall London England.
My favorite Everly Brothers song is "Let It Be Me".
I had one if their greatest hits albums in my vinyl collection before I lost everything in a house fire in '95.
That's family harmonies baby!
That song and video is from 1957
Semper Fi, brothers.
You can’t go wrong with an Everly Brothers song! Those harmonies get me every time and they truly did not make a bad song. ❤
Paul McCartney mentions these guys by name in his song, "Let 'Em In" where he refers to them as "Phil and Don".
I fell in love for the first time while listening to that song!
The hair is outrageous!!!
I watch this from time to time just for your reaction. It's so nice and encouraging to see someone of your generation appreciating the Everly Brothers.
Top ten group of all time
Listen to, "On The Wings Of A Nightingale". Written for the Everly Brothers by Paul McCartney.
They were so great! I might suggest(if you haven't yet) react to "The Twist" and maybe the B side "Toot"… by Chubby Checkers from 1960 as well! 😉😉
Helllllllooooo. From Port Angeles (Olympic Peninsula) WA.

The Everly Brothers' music has its roots in Appalachian music which influenced their style and harmony...
listening from Maryland here.
They had such great harmonies, and being brothers ,their tones and note length were so similar that they were unique .Phil looks like my grandsson(taller brother) :) The Beatles were influenced by the brothers and even incorporated that end bow into their own stage performances in the early 60s.
It's always interesting to see young people react to the 50's..:)

Loving the double 2 for 1 reactions, 2 great songs x

I have their double album that was my mom's. No, it's not for sale, lol.
It was in the movie "Riding in Cars With Boys" with Drew Barrymore.
Cathy's clown is one of my favorites aside from Ebony eyes ❤
You may haveheard the song ,"All I Have to Do Is Dream," in the Rodney Dangerfield comedy "Ladybugs" (1992) during a romantic dream sequence featuring teen actor Jonathan Brandis. It's a sweet and funny film. I would recommend it for one of your future movie reactions.
Watching from the State of Maine
Reba did Kathy's clown and did it well.
Ebony Eyes and That's Old Fashioned
The only movie I’ve heard it in was Riding In Cars With Boys. Great movie 👍
The song was in the movie Ladybugs.
Hello from Alpine Arkansas.
Sibling harmony.
Reba does a rather good rendition of "Cathy's Clown".
I love "Dream" but I wish it weren't so slow. By the way Tasha, I want to say, you have such a sweet personality and you seem genuine.
Tasha I wonder if you might come up with a series of the top 10 rock and roll songs from like 1955 to 1980 or the top 5 just asking i love your reactions to great music 🎶🎶🎶🎶
I’ve actually been working on that, but I need to listen to more music to compile a list like that.
Hello -from down below!
The everly brothers, the righteous brothers chad & Jeremy make you feel good about life and love. I sure miss the best years of music 50s 60s 70s and 80s since then I don't like or listen to anything past that time its noise pollution

The Dirt Band did a great version of Dream. Jim
Turn down those light hold her close and slow dance
Bummer they fought for so long with each other (15 years) other over songwriting $$/Credit, But at least they patched it up in the 80's and performed together for the next 20 years..After all, they were family
❤

Comment for the algorithm
lol me 2
Noch so blutjung und noch nicht so erfolgsverwöhnt.
I know it was from a movie called Ladybugs
