From 2:18 - 3:35 - For Sonny & Brenda fans, that was one of the most emotional & profound moments in their entire history. Given how angry Sonny was at Brenda at this point in the story & how badly things had become between the two, to see that there was this unsaid understanding & love between the two of them in that moment was incredible. It was almost like the two of them were subconsciously saying to each other - "Look, someday we will be able to put all of this anger & betrayal we are going through right now with each other behind us. There will come a time when the two of us will be together again & sail off into the sunset. We know that will one day happen. Who knows, maybe it will be years from now. But when it does, and we think back to this heartbreaking moment, we will be so glad that we were there for each other & that we didn't push each other away at one of the saddest moments of our lives." At 2:38, when Brenda is standing by Stone & she starts to lose it & Sonny hops up out of his chair & instinctively goes right to Brenda's side to comfort her, I remember when I first saw this back in 1995, I about lost it at that point. And then right afterwards we see Brenda sitting on the chair & leaning into Sonny, she & Sonny holding hands & just comforting each other. Again, that was that unsaid understanding & love between the two acting out there. Stone was Sonny's best friend & Robin is Brenda's best friend. No matter who comes & goes in their lives, no one will ever know or understand what that time in their lives was like. No one will truly understand how deep of a loss Stone was to them, no one that is except for Brenda & Sonny. They went through this together. Even after they broke up during the middle of Stone's illness. And even though their relationship ended before Stone died, the love between them never has & I honestly think never will. Don't let anyone tell you differently, Brenda is the love of Sonny's life. Sonny is the love of Brenda's life. You need look no further than this scene to see that.
Kimberly got an emmy that year for these scenes.. She was also nominated the next year for her scenes with Steve, who won the emmy the following year for his work with her.. A full circle lol
@belle786375 - Stone was Dyslexic and Kevin was helping through it. Through this process, Kevin realized Stone had been sick for a long time and suggested Stone get a blood work-up, consequently discovering the HIV. Kevin was the one who told Stone he was HIV.
