I remember watching this when it first aired on years ago and coming back on GH 60th Anniversary I'm going to say it again this is the most heartwarming storyline ever written.. I'm still bawled up 😢 in tears 💔 watching Stone & Robin Sonny & Brenda my Beautiful Dimples all together.. GH should bring Michael Sutton on as a different character he's a great actor.. 2023 bring it back on
25th anniversary of Stone's death was just a couple months ago... I spent hours watching old episodes and crying as much as I did when I was 21 . Amazing writing. GH has never been as good as it was during those years!! Classic GH💕
This scene is everything, it broke my heart. There is nothing sadder than a dying Stone, nothing sexier than a loyal Sonny, nothing more beautiful than a devoted Robin and nothing more perfect than the three of them together
Amen. It's times like these when you look passed the cops and mobsters, the "business" stuff, and you see things that grab you by the heart and hold on. I sincerely wish I had made the time to know GH in this time and watched it. It may be too late now but this, to me, was the golden age for my generation of soap fans.
she explains that she will never give up stones place in her heart but when she fell for jason her heart grew and there was room for him too.. same with patrick, she loves all three of them
I remember watching Stone’s death with a friend when I was in College and we both bawled our eyes out. It was such a sad moment. And we still had to go to class. So we had to clean ourselves up as best we could and go. It was like we had lost family we had cried so much.
The tears are running like a faucet now. It's just so sad. I remember crying like this when I saw this in high school. I feel like I grew up with Robin.
I was a freshmen in college when this storyline was playing out, we would record the episodes and race home after class to watch. Imagine a room full of macho college age guys trying not to burst into tears. Such a powerful narrative that still resonates today.
Wow I am crying . When stone said " I'm not going to be sick just to stay sick " I lost it. U dont know what u are going to do if you are in this situation urself but I totally get him not wanting to go through chemo & radiation to have best case 9 months left. He wants to live out what time he has left not throwing up or sitting in a hospital bed but living life til it's the end. So sad.
I said it once and ill say it again - this story line was everything. It showed three sides of the same experience. It shattered stereotypes and forced you to see the people underneath. The pain, the courage, the open discussion and honestly. I haven't seen a lot of shows even talk about HIV/AIDs. GH still touches on it now and again but honestly, this story line with Stone, Robin, and Sonny was everything.
@@TownieGirl1974 Jason became a close FRIEND while Stone was the brother he always wanted. Sonny opened up the possablities for Stone never wanted him in the mob. Sonny was at his very best with Stone as was Robin
Oh God if only GH were this good again. When the whole cast interacted, when differences were put aside when something really mattered. Now it just sucks and the only time anyone comes together is when they need something from someone else. Robin and Luke don't interact, Robin and Sonny are pretty much strangers...GH back then is what all soaps should be. I just wish that the writers cared enough to put a whole story together instead of changing it halfway through. :/
BJ and Stone both dying this year in 94 was way too much and I cried for days with both s/l and I never cried so much and miss the writing so badly. It is a shame.
Over a decade later and this story is still so painful to watch. This is why I will never forgive Sonny for turning his back on Robin. It is unforgivable. After how much she loved him and the promise he made to Stone to take care of her.
@@maureenmeagher6415 She did betray Jason , Sonny was not happy with her but she moved so he could hardly be blamed for that Love dose not mean you agree with every choice a person makes. Sonny told Robin he believed she was wrong but he did love her
@coleypinkful Ur right I hate when ppl say that Robin and Sonny hurt each other but never turned their back cuz they always cared, he was hurt wat she did like her in 2000 for when she saw him with Carly
The scene where Robin checks on Sonny i think is the starting point of their long and wonderful friendship. I think it's the part when Robin saw a different side to Sonny, the vulnerable emotional part that is connected to Stone. That was the turning point for them.
@kashiera1234 I know. I hate when they dog on them too. Robin knew what Carly was after she knew the kind of person she was and was afraid that Sonny and jason would get hurt by her devious ways. Carly was always jealous of Robin she still is. She knows that she could never measure up to what Sonny feels for her or to what Jason still feels for her. She may be important to both men but she never will get the type of feelings from them that Robin can. Patrick won't be able to either unfortunatley
And they actually did butcher a storyline that involved Robin's HIV, even if she didn't develop AIDS. The moment they had Robin chase after the crazy Lisa lady with a syringe filled with her blood, I felt ashamed for GH. That was pretty freaking low.
KMc hated that too. She couldn't believe the writers would take an important story and use it the way they did by having Lisa try to inject Patrick and having Robin chase Lisa with it. That was very low of Guza to write something like that.
always plots killings i wish Sonny would change you think after Stone s Death he would but he will never change but i still love his character for some strange reason.
@clase406marcela1 He is too jealous not understanding, I get that Patrick is jealous of the way she talks of Jason and the way she holds on 2 Stone but THEY SHAPED HER INTO THE WOMAN SHE IS.I dont like Scrubs but I will always like Robin. The same with Sonny, he needs 2 accept that he is not leaving her life ever
why couldn't they give Maurice this kind of material when Micheal was shot? He was able to give so much more here than he did in the scenes with Micheal.
I remember being in high school then and I was in a co-op program and I would watch this storyline before wk and eyes would be red and swollen from bawling my eyes out. Sonny broke me down!!
This is why I am so afraid of them doing an AIDS story for Robin right now. I don't think current writers are capable of this kind of writing such dignity so real so true If they blow it it could kill GH. Thanks for posting this
This storyline broke my heart . I even bought the book (journal) they made from this . But I must say the writing was so much better then. now..... It kinda sucks. @clase406marcela1 NO he won't. He just can't accept her past life with Stone. He is jealous of it and he shouldn't be. He should be more jealous of her relationship with Jason, he is alive and still a big part of RObin's life, they go running to each other for comfort and support all the time. He has a hard time understanding that too i guess. And her relationship with Sonny. Many have tried to destroy that and all have failed. Robin and sonny are family...

This is probably the greatest story every told by GH. And that is hard to admit because I personally think Sonny and Brenda's entire arc trumps everything. Michael Corinthos's shooting in 2008 is a close 2nd/3rd.
I have to say as well I love this sonny. Not the sonny that had hate sex with carly. The trio of robin stone & sonny got replaced with jason carly & sonny & mob crap.
I don't think he really turned his back on Robin, i think he was just hurt of how she hurt Jason. True they aren't as close as they once were but times change and so do people. She still trusts him, that's evident by letting him watch emma in a episode i saw recently. I'm positive that sonny would throw down his life for her if he had to. She's one of a few that he would give up everything for, jason too i think.
GH was written by Claire Labine and Wendy Riche during this period. Now we have men writing that do not honor history, they rewite it, continuity is non- existent and arcs are so long you lose interest. Lately GH has been about Peter, Peter oh and did I say Peter?
