With your reasonably tight grouping I think each shot progressively weakened the armor that allowed easier penetration later.
If each round was shot at a fresh backpack I'm sure the results would be much different.
I think if we go back to school I should wear that.
You practically needed stuff like that at the high school and neighborhood I grew up in.

Actually it's more likely to get shot going to and from school in certain cities in America.
If its a steel plate and the shooter hears the ping from the steel wouldn’t they know? And aim for the head

If someone is watching a firearms video and they fall asleep or get bored looking at the different rifles and calibers, they need some help! Lol I'm a gun nut, I am fascinated by different calibers, ballistics and capabilities of each round. I have 12 firearms myself and I can't wait to buy more. I think I have an addiction 😂

I wonder if the armor was fresh would it have stopped the 308 and 270? After all, it did stop a 338 Lapua Magnum....
TheOldFatDad Goober yes. Neither is more powerful than 338 lapua
Speed is what kills those plates. That’s why 22-250 will go through stuff that the bigger calibers won’t.
I think it had to do with shot placement. There's no way it stopped all the magnum calibers and the .270 and .308 went through.

Good video, you should ve put something right against the backpack because for the higher calipers you can see it bounces absorbing a good amount of energy, also you could ve seen the actual kinetic energy from the bullet transfered to the body which is still deadly. On top of that, It would ve been a good idea to put some books or binders for a more realistic situation.
That was awesome! That armor took a beating! Lol. I was thinking the 243, 270, 22-250, and 50 bmg were gonna be the ones to penetrate. I'm surprised the 243 didn't and the 22-250 is inconclusive according to the video and the holes in the armor. Thanks for the show WTW and HM!

That is a great backpack plate design. Now I bet if there were books in that it might have stopped more bullets the other question in my mind is what kind of power would the rounds that made it through that backpack have had with the exception of the 50 bmg that round is seriously armor piercing.

cool video. the bag took a lot of abuse before the bigger center fire round punched through. 👍🏼👍🏼 anything after that first blow through was just for fun. if you get another bag I'd look to see you start with the first one that went through to see if you get the same results.

Well now that was a interesting video and I was surprised that only three caliber went through I know there was never no doubt that the 50 BMG would go through but I thought there would be others go through that didn't.

Or like those guys that say don't put gun stickers on your vehicle because its advertising there might be one inside. If you put on a hipoint sticker, they might just feel sorry for you and skip your vehicle

The backpack performed admirably. Sad day when I would consider purchasing several to help keep my grandkids safe at school. When I was growing up, I got my share of spankings, but was never concerned about getting shot at school.

Man. I’ve been wanting to put together a bullet collection like that. I wanted to mount different cartridges from small to large on something. I basically just want the stepped cartridges from .17 up to .50bmg. I can’t afford to buy a box of each, especially if I don’t have any rifles that fire them. Wonder if you’d be interested in sending me one of each, I’d send you some $$ for your trouble.
I’m wondering why the 270 and 308 went through but not the 30-06. unless it was the fact the backpack was at an angle allowing the bullet to go at an angle and that’s what redirected it or stopped the 30-06. or the 270 and 308 went through other holes started by something else. Ether way I love the backpack
