Think about it: -Hogmeiser thought of her as his "money tree", implying she pulled the wool over his eyes about her world domination plan -Lanza had a "message of hope" to fool even Sicily. That implies a good understanding of the demon psyche -The odds that Laharl would just happen to come along were infinitesmal- he doesn't even like these shows! He didn't even look himself!
Laharl is too naive for his own good here. Sicily turned out to be innocent, but what if she was a spy pretending to be his sister as a backup plan? Letting her scout Lanzarote for her conspiracy could have bit Laharl in the ass.
I headcanon'd a long time ago that laharl's embarrassing photo in Disgaea 1 was him in drag so I'm totally unsurprised she managed to handle being a girl really well.
It would have been more interesting if Laharl, Etna & Flonne had stayed that way longer throughout the story. It would have made them more motivated to get to the bottom of all this.
