I love this movie so much. Guardians 3 would've been a mockery without James Gunn directing it. It's clear so much his soul has went into these movies.
4 years later and we received a happy ending. Not even we got Vol. 3 directed by Gunn, we got the movie which I believe happened to be the best Marvel movie after Infinity War and Endgame.
I'm confused as to how they managed to key out Yondu on a blue screen. I know it's an interior shot, but I still feel like green screen would've been better.
I was thinking the same thing. They did it with the first one too (putting the green chick on a green screen). Best answer I can come up with is that they're using higher end cameras with a 4:4:4 sampling ratio, so it's much easier to distinctly discern between different shades of blue.

i just have to say i really, really liked how peter wasn't "rewarded" with gamora at the end. i thought for sure they were gonna cram in a quick shot at the end in which they kiss or something, but no - instead peter was rewarded with a mature sense of self and responsibility and, in a freudian sense, after loosing both of his father figures finally be able to grow up. had this been any other film the male lead would most certainly win the lady-trophy after hours of nagging. i'm so glad this wasn't one of those films. (although i'm sure they'll eventually hook up at some point)
They spent two movies slowly building the romance until Gamora finally admits to her feelings for Quill, then BOOM, Infinity War! I kinda felt cheated of those sweet moments of them becoming an actual couple. Woulda been better if they made a GOTG 3 before.

both are bold = easy to mask, forest is full of green leaves, blue screen is easier to key with certain footage type. light conditions etc. And for all people who think it is possible with high quality footage to separate blue from blue - you are simple wrong, it all masked, if you know how properly mask - it is not so hard.

"Put a lot of work into it." I love Groot and all but I can't take Vin Diesel seriously. Dude, you literally say the same things just in a different way through the whole movie. It's either: "I am Groot." "Groot" or "We are Groot" the rest and pretty much the most important part was done by the designers/animators. Don't really get why they had to cast a "famous" actor to do this other than a professional voice actor.

Although that being said, I saw a behind the scenes of gotg vol 1 where he was recording groot saying “yo soy groot” and he had to say it soooo many times in loads of different ways. So he definitely does have to put time and effort in. But as you said, the bulk of it was done by the crew so he gets off pretty easy really.
@@kaileigh7385 agreed. Sure, doing a voice for a character is still work, but compared to other small roles in different movies he doesn't even remotely have enough lines to say. The lines he says are ones you record on one day, two days tops, and you're done. Starting to think they only casted him because he's somewhat "famous" (sry, as you might have noticed I'm not a big fan of him) I'm not saying that they should cast someone else as Groot (tho his voice went through so many changes that you can't really hear his original voice anyway) but I wish they would've cast maybe someone not so famous, just to bring in new faces and stuff. Compared to him I really like the voice for Rocket. They put a lot of work into it, the voice has a character and there's a lot more room to play with. You can't create a voice/character like that on a computer, it wouldn't work. Today's technology is so far, they could get rid of Diesel and continue by creating Groots voice on the PC, pretty sure most people wouldn't notice anything.
SepticStache i genuinely couldn’t agree more. Bradley did sooo much for the character of rocket, whilst in comparison, the film wouldn’t be missing anything if vin diesel wasn’t in it. Deffo could’ve cast a less famous voice actor instead!

If you're doing live broadcast (like a weather report), that is absolutely true. But for a big feature, they can also separate the character from the background in other ways - for the blue characters, they may even trace around them frame by frame, since they have the time and money for very labor-intensive VFX. I've seen entire scenes in high budget feature films that I thought were chroma keyed, but turns out they shot in real forest or city and replaced the background the hard way.
I'm so impressed by the attention to detail and love put into the making of this film and franchise by all the cast and crew. Disney better regret firing James Gunn.
