How can you recommend Without A Sound as the first Dino album to start with but simultaneously diss their post-reunion output for sounding too 90s? Everyone, start with You're Living All Over Me.
J Mascis is not only a rock star he is a professional slasher! He slashes that guitar 🎸 in every song and it is pretty much the chorus of every song! Love it!
@@peachmelba1000 Try writing a hit song or a interesting chorus it isn't easy. His solos sound like Dinosaurs Jr. Classic! J has inspired tons of guitar to shred! I agree some solo stuff sound the same but they all rock
@@Leo-nq1oy facts their worst album is easily hand it over this dude is stupid lol. the album following it immediately after is a fuckin banger bro so good they put the opening track in skate 3
This is a very strange take a band that sticks to their roots and does what they're BEST at being as genuine as possible loses you? They've always had a very rock pop sound to their songs..
@@RajHK8 I really like the whole 85-97 discography, the new stuff is not really my thing except for maybe a few songs to me it sounds like a watered down Dinosaur Jr
Green mind or you're living all over me the newer albums are great too . Get a glimps of what you're not is awesome. Without a sound is my least favorite.
Where You Been or You're Living All Over Me are their best starting albums, IMO Farm is their best album but im HEAVILY Biased by personal things with that album. Crumble, Without a Sound and Green Mind also deserve a big mention. Some of their best singles come off of there, and Get a Glimpse at What Yer Not is also amazing
Uh anyway, all of their albums are phenomenal but start with your living all over me and listen chronologically and once your a fan listen to their debut and live albums then you can move on to j Mascis solo work (all amazing) also Sebadoh (Lou’s band) has some incredible 90s output also check out witch’s self titled and J Mascis + the fog. Don’t listen to this video dinosaur jr is one of the most prolific and overlooked bands of all time
The first three are a fine place to start because it's a great way to follow their evolution from an already unique starting point. The next three albums are great, but lacking that originality found in the first three. After that, I don't listen to too much, even though the first three reunion records are pretty good.

Everyone, start with You're Living All Over Me.
or start with bug
@Shadowedge729 that's fair, they're both monoliths of rock.
@@ioncewasmikey they absolutely are
@@ioncewasmikeyI started with you’re living all over me and it’s the best imo but tbh I feel like you could start with Where you Been as well.
@@666sk8erguy Where You Been is great! YLAOM is their best for sure, I agree!

Yeah, every solo sounds exactly the same. Great first album. One or two decent releases after that. They should have stayed broken up.
@@peachmelba1000 Try writing a hit song or a interesting chorus it isn't easy. His solos sound like Dinosaurs Jr. Classic! J has inspired tons of guitar to shred! I agree some solo stuff sound the same but they all rock
Do the exact opposite of what Robbie says here.
Bruh. U crazy. Dinosaur jr still putting out really good records. And they sound nothing like any of the “popular bands” not possible.
I disagree with him completely, I think they fell off in the mid 90s and the new albums since they reunited are fantastic!
@@Leo-nq1oy facts their worst album is easily hand it over this dude is stupid lol. the album following it immediately after is a fuckin banger bro so good they put the opening track in skate 3
It’s all a matter of taste but I prefer their newer stuff like I bet on sky beyond and farm those were outstanding albums
@@baunchus3479 listen to hand it over again. In their top 3 for me
@@Leo-nq1oy Agreed. The 90s stuff wasn’t bad, it just isn’t as good as the other stuff
Terrible take
You should not be reviewing bands. Especially dinosaur…. If you don’t understand their history.
I disagree Farm is a fantastic album and Said the People of one of their best songs
Amen ALL MY FARM LOVERS RISE UP

This is a very strange take a band that sticks to their roots and does what they're BEST at being as genuine as possible loses you? They've always had a very rock pop sound to their songs..
You’re living all over me was so ahead of it’s time, they sounded “too 90s” in the fckin 1980s 😂
Please for the love of god don't start with Without a Sound what a goofy ass take
I've been TrIgGeReD
ME TOO!
Dinosaur Jr is a fantastic band!
They were before every other grunge/ alternative band to be in the charts. They set the mood….
They started as loud psychedelic country
They don't sound like pop 90s bands the 90s bands sound like them
You need to put in more time learning
Honestly i think farm is damn near a masterpiece
Their new stuff is great. Farm is literally one of their best albums
Dinosaur Jr have the best post hiatus discography in all of music.
Wrong at everything
Actually the top 5 albums are:
1. You're living all over me
2. Dinosaur
3. Bug
4. Where You Been
5. Green Mind
Dinosaur before Where You Been 🤡

They definitely aren't for everyone... That's for sure lol either you like them or you don't. 🤷♂️
This guy doesn’t know shit about Dinosaur Jr.

Start with 80’s Dinosaur Jr and work your way up. Start with You’re Living All Over Me. Where You Been is the best.

Farm, Bet on Sky and Swept into space are great albums.
This is one of those rare bands that stay consistently great through the years ❤️
Kinda bad take NGL I would honestly say your living all over me is their best album but I would personally start with where you been
You're Living All Over Me is their best record.
How you gonna crap on them for sounding to pop like and recommend their most popular like album
Dinosaur Jr. are still awesome and some of those 90's albums are mid, shit take.
you're living all over me is actually number 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. move on to sebadoh
Another horrible take - this man keeps baffling me. He manages to get everything wrong all the time
Impressive that every video that I see of you it just shows that you dont know what you are talking about

Without a sound is my fav by them glad to see it up top
What? You crazy bro. Dinosaur are the shit.
false -Farm is stellar
green mind is the obvious starter album wtf
Violent Femmes - self titled album
Y isnt green mind on there?
Cómo excluye a Beyond de la conversación? ese disco es un monstruo
Do alkaline trio
Start with green mind
I love their new music to me it’s incredible prefer it to their older stuff actually
My favorite era is the 80s era of them but I definitely agree that the newer stuff is better than the 90s output
I actually like their 90’s albums the best especially Where You Been.
Idiotic… 😂
Chicano Batman
Listen to terbutalina
Wack take
DOO GWAR
Love dinosaur jr j maskis genius
They hit grunge - J Mascis was asked to be Nirvana's drummer before Dave Grohl.
Interesting List 🤔
Learn the Dinosaur jr history and the disruption in the band and then listen to sebadoh.

Listen to Tripping Daisy... lots of good albums
Just dont start. They suck.
Sir, you haven't a clue as to what you're talking about. Just stay away from Dino and leave it to the responsible adults.
listen to Ekatarina Velika... they are a legendary rock band from Yugoslavia and I think they are the greatest band that ever existed
You dont start, they suck. There, i saved you minutes of torture
So edgy.
