As a beginner with large hands, the P2 and Sky God IV have been staples in my bag....until the Rainmaker came out. It's like a P1.5, or the perfect blend between the P1 & P2. Can't exactly explain why but this fits PERFECTLY in my hand, and it gives me so much confidence when I'm putting. Now I bag 2 Rainmakers for putting, and throw with a Sky God or Sensei. Hopefully Discmania continues the Rainmaker series in NEO or C-Line with a lower price. $20 for a base plastic putter, even in glow ...is a bit steep.
Yeah its crazy how super small differences in putters can make such a big difference! And yeah... I don't know if there will ever be cheaper Rainmakers since this is a creator series for Eagle... So they all include a royalty for Eagle
Durability I can’t speak to… after playing a round with it, the disc was definitely still stable and held up. But it was only 1 round! In terms of feel. The plastic is more stiff imo, mainly because the flight plate feels more dense, if that makes sense. And it is much more grippy and a little tackier than most KC Pro plastic
Definitely now one of DG content faves after seeing you in creators cup. What's your camera and mic workflow? Keep up great work - love your direct insights w/o the excessive B-roll

You made me buy some, even though I like the new P2. But throw old beat in P2s as flipup straight or understable throwing putters, this might be a replacer after some easy wear.
I putted with P2s for years, then switched to the firefly…would be interested to see how the rainmaker and firefly compare. What did Nate do vs what Eagle did when modifying the P2. 🤷🏻♂️
@@ApolloDiscGolf it is, Sexton tweaked it a little bit just like Eagle did as I understand it, and the nexus plastic is great. They offer it in DX and KC Pro as well now, but I definitely prefer nexus (as a putting putter by the way, I throw a 2019 tour series Luna like yours off the tee). From my observation it’s a little flatter top than the original P2, maybe a little more shallow feel. Very similar to the rainmaker. 🤷🏻♂️👀
same journey with a slight detour into the skinny putter like logic and sensei. just switched to rainmakers. if you like fireflys I think you might even like this mold better, but nexus plastic still has the edge in durability.

Flight is very nice, but yeah, from practice putting I'm a little surprised how beat up they look already. I have a white/white firefly that's been in the bag for a year...granted I baby it and practice putt with purple ones...but it's still in great shape after maybe 100 rounds. I'm certainly going to have fun trying out the rainmakers too though, and there is one particularly sweet pair of P2s that still gets a run sometimes as well. ☺
I absolutely hated the rainmakers from the mystery box, however i gave them a second chance and fell in lover with them switching away from my p2's. I have been hoping these would drop so i didnt need to drop a stack on ebay to have back ups of the protos. Fingers crossed they are as good as the protos.

The story feels a bit off or I remember it incorrectly myself. Eagle liked to use an old P-line run of P2:s. Not JUST the old P2:s as in Innova made P2:s but that certain run over other Innova made runs.
I think he just putted with his Imperial Eagles which were his signature series, glow P2’s! They might have been an older run, I’m not sure. Either way, they were still the old Innova P2 mold!
Rainmakers are for circle 2, P2 for C1. Also they react poorly hitting metal, a lot of movement that creates more comebackers. Very nice for dead straight putts, not good for hyzer putts.
I think the biggest difference for me is that the Luna is rounded off on the bottom part of the rim, where the Rainmaker and P2 are both angled and the straight on the bottom of the rim. If that makes sense
Yeah, I can totally understand that! I felt the same way until Paul released his Lunas... now I pay $25 a putter... But I also don't have backup putters either anymore 😂
Great video! Definitely going to have to check out one of these bad boys! I'm searching for a nice overstable putter to compliment my Warden but nothing feels great in my hand.
I think this could be a good option! it does have a different feel in the hand though... the bottom edge is straight when the Wardens are consistently curved on the bottom.
