You titled the video “X-men’s biggest failure” but I think you kinda left out the reasons it might have failed naturally over time? Like how Krakoa would have burned out eventually anyway, the morally questionable things they did like with alienating Reed Richards and messing with his son Franklin, Beast becoming evil and replaced with a clone, mutants taking over the world in one timeline. You didn’t really mention a single foible or reason that caused its downfall. It was just kind of a summary of how it ended.

Not even talking about the reid thing but the sheer hubrys of magneto calling himself a god and I think Emma saying yeah were going to take over democratie.
      What about it.
The thing is it would have been easy to call them out.
Just like namor did when he told them your not a nation your an insignificant island in but f nowhere
Or doom could have told them that they were just playing make believe as they alianated everyone around them.
I mean it was easy you could say their school suck because they only transfer informations they don't teacher kid to question or actually calculate.
They were already segregeting amongst themselves by class of power.
It's dumb for human because race are dumb but power are actually real.

If you are a long time comic book reader and especially a Marvel one, then you (should) know that Marvel demands that you return its characters to the same state that you found them. Yeah. It was fun, but felt very forced and convoluted af. I really dislike how Moira was not only made a mutant, she’s more powerful than anyone in the universe. She just has to pull
a Kenny and everything is reset. Sinister weaponizing such and then making clone suicide bombs of Moira as a safeguard. That’s just lame to me. Way too much hinging on Moiras existence. Just too convenient plot device and not for me.
I think the power structure and hierarchy that the Mutants obtained, is the best aspect of the story. The drugs, trading, businesses etc that kept the mutants high on the hog.

This era got me through the pandemic and coming years. I hate that it was rushed just so the X-Men could come to the MCU. I hope we can find something that matches the excitement of seeing what your favorite mutants were going to wear to the hellfire gala.

I want more of these! I don't have time for the 3 hour FULL summaries, so I would prefer these general overviews that give me enough to chew on. I only started X-Men with Fall of X, so this gives me a lot of context. Even if I were to go back and read the entirety of Krakoa, it is good to see the full picture in a normal length video.

I might get some flak for this, but I've always hated the nation of Krakoa from its inception. Xavier's dream was essentially MLK's was, for everyone to be judged by their character, not anything outside of their control. Krakoa was, in my eyes, giving up. Does it make sense? Yeah, sure, but it always rubbed me the wrong way since it presented characters like Apocalypse and Sinister in a (very minimally) positive light. Not only that, but these characters (most heroes in Marvel for that matter) are supposed to be lessons in morality, having the X-Men essentially give up on _the_ dream and segregate themselves from everyone else presents a _bad_ message.

    • @morlath4767
      @morlath4767 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

The foundational point of Krakoa X-Men was that Moira's insanity twisted Xavier's dream. Moira's handful of lives made her think they were the Ultimate Truth of human/mutant relations, and she convinced Xavier and Magneto of this.

There are people online who have made chronological reading lists for all of the Krakoa era.
      A simplified list?
      HoX/PoX
      X-Men (Jonathan Hickman)
      X of Swords
      Hellfire Gala (2021)
      Inferno
      X Lives/Deaths of Wolverine
      X-Men (Gerry Duggan)
      Immortal X-Men
      X-Men Red
      Judgment Day event
      Sins of Sinister crossover
      Hellfire Gala (2023)
      Fall/Rise of House of X
      X-Men Forever
That's the general "core" of the storyline. Other titles like Hellions was a lot of fun and Excalibur dealt with Apocalypse a lot but it might not be considered "essential" since the most important stuff is in X of Swords.
Again, though, if you want the "full" experience, then you can Google chronological reading orders. And, while your mileage may vary. I recommend skipping Fallen Angels, Children of the Atom, and X-Corp. None of them really add anything and are actually borderline terrible.

This was Kitty's attempt at giving the Genoshan mutants another go, since resurrection was working too slowly. She created a box from mysterium, placed genetic material from the millions lost in it, and sent it back before life was thought to exist. From that box, life grew and eventually, Threshold. But war being what it is, they destroyed themselves with their own weapons, the only surviving members being Sublime, his sister Arkea, and Krakoa itself. Cassandra was left behind in the ruins of Threshold for good measure because she's not easy to kill and what harm could she do a billion years in the past?
