"Gladiolus," if stranded on a desert isle with only one Jop number to hear, Max? I like that one very well--- and if you can pick a single favorite from his works, it's more than I can do--- but we redheads burn a bit too readily for desert sunshine with the sunscreen running low. I suspect that if I could hear Max playing only upon a tin pan and washboard, and maybe a comb covered with paper for a reed, if any of these survived a shipwreck, his talent would speak and I would get something out of it. We might all have to learn to sing. Who knows, maybe there would be birds--- live instruction, straight from the time of the dinosaurs. I have wondered for a long time about the deep roots that musical ability must have. After all, the genes must have been conserved a long time before there were pianos (or combs and washboards). My curiosity is not likely to be gratified. But now Max is playing his "Halcyon Rag," and I am glad I can learn something, now (although my "now" is 9 months back in time from the date of the livestream) without going back in prehistory. Anyway, thanks a lot for making these electronically-mediated sessions available, Max. It's making something come alive inside me. And we just got a new dog, which my partner insisted on naming Max, never having heard of you. Wouldn't have Sparky; wouldn't have Scooter, wouldn't have Rex. I did not make the connection until I opened your livestream. Great little guy, part terrier, part some other breed on the smaller side; looks like a full glass of milk. As for requests: can't do better than Lamb, Joplin, your own compositions, or anything else you feel like sharing. Thanks!
Loved the broadcast. I had to bail out half way through as it was late here in the UK, so I listened to the rest at work. I'd love to hear something by Gil Leiby, Ron O'Dell, or Trebor Tichenor next time!

Great set. Couldn’t catch it live. The Booker is a surprise and you did it justice.
