- Hello! I think I wanted to start this "journey series" so that I just had something to look back on and see my process and growth if I do end up doing well with this business. And also if I ever need to, I can go back to these videos and see / feel why I wanted to start this teeny business in the first place. As a graphic designer, I'd say to make sure your output is set to CYMK (for print) instead of RGB (for web screens). The colors that you see on your screen will be slightly different from the color you get on the physical sticker. Hope this helps.

I have an Epson Photo printer with 6 color cartridge so can't comment on the general color quality of Canon, but if you are printing straight from your iPad and procreate, you need to design your stickers in CYMK and not RGB mode, as RGB colors will print a bit more washed out in general and it's not the printer's fault.
The other alternative is to have the final file saved in Photoshop with a printing profile set up and then turn off manual color settings on you printer setting screen so it picks up the printing profile embedded in the file. You will still get a slight difference in color but not as much.
I do a lot or art and design for my Society6 shop and they require a RGB file for prints, so those are the same file I use when I print stickers at home.
In rare cases, I have a color or two that look a bit dull printing my own stickers, and when that happens I change the print color setting to brighter, more vivid settings.

This is a well-made video. Your video editing is really good! My only question after watching this video is what are the names of the printers that you showed us? What was the first printer that didn’t give you very good results? What was the second printer that gave you better results? Can you mention these printers in the description box? If you do, please specify which was the 1st printer that printed poorly, and which was the 2nd printer that printed nicer stickers.
For anyone you also wanted to know: I think it was a hp laser printer that didn’t print well and the better stickers were the one she bought, the canon inkjet

Hani I. hi! i had this problem so to start out i designed my stickers and sent them to be printed through a website (i used makestickers) until i could get the supplies i needed :) it also might help to start by selling on etsy or depop (or both!)

Buen video y motivador Felicidades. Yo tambien me acabo de comprar una impresora . Creo que es el equipo importante para realizar este tipo de emprendimiento. Para los colores tienes q configuar el perfil de color y tambien saber que las ilustraciones echas en la tablet te lo guarda automatica en rgb. Deberias cabiarlo a cmyk para que visualices los colores reales no soy muy experta pero esto lo realizo en photoshop o ilustrator ya que me siento familiarizada con estos programas.

I'm just curious as I'm interested in sticker designs too. Did you use a scissor ✂️ to cut out the specific shape of your stickers? I see a lot of sticker sellers using a CRICUT or some cutting tool.

thank you I'm about to start a small sticker business and is looking for a printer. do you have other recommendation other than this printer? my budget is only around $120
I'm not the creator of this blog but I'm a print shop owner and believe me. Don't use canon printer or any printer that has a cartridge. Cartridge is so expensive and wasteful. I can recommend Epson printer. Tank base and eco friendly and budget friendly. It's a little been expensive than canon but in term of long term use and ink you can trust them. And the print quality is great....

For anyone need waterproof sticker, you need to use printable vinyl. Better use pigment ink and add more protection layer by laminating. So, your sticker will be waterproof and last longer.

@@karens233 You need printable vinyl for inkjet (dye or pigment ink). As for printer, any epson would do with pigment, just buy a new printer and fill with pigment ink. Most canon small size printers do not use pigment.
