You left out Castle Howard!!! My favorite for sheer beauty and scale is Highclere. Although large, it still manages to look warm and liveable. And its countryside is gorgeous.
No list can be complete without the inclusion of Wentworth Woodhouse, the largest private stately home in England and with the longest facade of any home in Europe
I can both agree and disagree. My suspicion is that as it is pretty much empty and still rather derelict it wasn't included. The same goes for Mentmore Towers. To me, the glaring omission is yet another Rothschild country house Waddesdon Manor.
Sadly last time I went to Plas Newyth it was full of modern art rubbish consisting of hundreds of paper shirts hanging in every room so you couldn’t see anything and nothing was labelled. It was a complete disgrace and sad reflection on the National Trust.
It seems many of these, and others, could use an extensive pressure washing. Since they are no longer heated by coal they can have all of that removed.
There is no chandelier (magnificent or not) over the dining table in Osborne House. Please look at your photos, and any others, of the dining room. Nor is there a chandelier in the Durbar Room (also used for dining). How could anyone put this list together without including Waddesdon Manor?? This gets my vote for most magnificent. Now you need to do a video on the great London city houses.
Highclere Castle is one of my favourites but love them All..To The Manor Born...Not...Unfortunately.....I realize the social problems with Victorian Britian but this time is magical for me....such style and grace.....
COMMENT: Which British country house on our list do you believe is the most magnificent?
3- little girls,,,learning a fun dance routine,,,what happens next?
Blenheim Palace, thanks to Consuelo Vanderbilt.
I agree totally.

Castle Howard is sublime
p
I'm surprised to see no Castle Howard, it's incredibly opulent, both house and grounds :)

Destaca mucho mas que cualquiera de las casas señoriales del video. Un gran fallo no incluirla.
Ruined through Manny Shinwell’s vengeful attitude in the faceof opposition for Wentworth miners.
An incredible building but sadly no longer full of treasures, but at least now open to the public and well worth a visit.

I am reading about Cliveden House and its 6 female mistresses...fascinationg history! Thank-you for these videos. Love it.
Glad you enjoy it!
Probably the best video presented on this channel yet. Thank you.
Glad you think so!
I love old buildings so your channel is right up my street.
Blenheim palace is beautiful. I like the huge lake also on the grounds. Wow
Blenheim Castle is my favorite. Love the architecture and gardens making it a grand and relaxing place.
Absolutely wonderful.
Great video. How many times is the word grandeur used lol
Thank you for sharing the top ten British country houses - been to and filmed at a couple of them - find it really interesting 🙂
Interesting!

Left out Mapperton House, in Dorset. Home of the family of the Earl of Sandwich. Montague family.

#1 is my very favorite.
Highclere is included but not Castle Howard?
Highclere is extremely worthy, but…

In other words some of the biggest wastes of money
Cliveden
Oh dear. Why such a florid commentary?
It's a digitally generated narration...dreadful !!!
Imagine staying 1 night alone in one of these palatial estates. You'd have to sleep with one eye open while clasping a Bible and garlic necklace👻
😂
None.
