i wanna run away from my anxiety and problems and just lay in a flower field, staring at the clear sky. no people, no internet, just me, the flowers and my naive head.
[Verse 1] Among the fields of straw and stover Clocked in 'til the work day's over Time’s a gentle stream, longer than it seems Patient is the night [Verse 2] How I long to see her face now Her starry, moonlit gaze now I know she’s never late, still anxiously I wait Patient is the night [Outro] I know she's never late, still anxiously I wait Patient is the night
There’s something I really like about how the “patient is the night” isn’t really attached by any kind of grammar. It’s like you’re doing all this stuff and in the background is death waiting and they’re not necessarily related but it’s always just there
Once more I gotta say, an open world, pixel art rpg where you died and simply exist in the unknown, living however you like, doing whatever you need to to keep yourself going, would be a dream. Traveling long distances would be difficult, and avoiding becoming the beast's next tree would be a struggle, but getting to new exciting locations, meeting other souls, all if it would be great. And if you 'die' in the unknown, still unclaimed by the beast, you can be invited into pottsfield. Idk I'd just love it.
That would be cool… up until data miners and completionists document every detail about the game and take away the feeling of mystery that makes the unknown interesting in the first place. To be clear, I have nothing against data miners or completionists, video games just aren’t the right format for an OTGW experience.
@@caltheuntitled8021 ...The feeling of mystery would be created by the game's atmosphere and story, not the files themselves??? I'm sorry, but knowing how and why pressing this lever opens this door and what sprites they used in beta testing doesn't remove the mystery of the story. That's like saying if you were to see the storyboards for the show it would take away the mystery. Like, a few easter eggs would be easier to get to, but that takes away nothing from the story and atmosphere. I think you misunderstand how games work, or you have simply never played one that was any good at building a mysterious atmosphere.

hey, this is a great remix but that picture isn't actually free to use - can you include a link back to the artist? indie content creators gotta stick together :)

[Verse 1]
Among the fields of straw and stover
Clocked in 'til the work day's over
Time’s a gentle stream, longer than it seems
Patient is the night
[Verse 2]
How I long to see her face now
Her starry, moonlit gaze now
I know she’s never late, still anxiously I wait
Patient is the night
[Outro]
I know she's never late, still anxiously I wait
Patient is the night
This fits perfectly, I love it

@@ReddCrystal but making everything about a game common knowledge ruins the mystique
