You seem to be moving more into journaling and art than planning. Your weeks sounds like a catch all on the go planner. Like a common place book for your daily life. That is great! I'm curious to see how you will get into this new line-up.. and quite frankly this is quite a big change of planning/journaling life 😊 I have been around here since your happy planner days (you weren't even into FPs then); so it is inspiring to watch you going through life and adapting according to your needs
It's definitely a change to when I first started. I will still be planning - it will just be more simplified than when I used to use 3 or 4 planners for planning. The theme this year is more about simplifying, but also encouraging myself to be more creative. Thanks for sticking around so long!
Using a simple Hobonichi grid notebook in one of my beautiful new planner covers, is enough. I don’t need a dated planner for most things. I can write the date on the day I’m writing. No blank pages. I can use the notebook for several years. I can change the covers as many times during the year, like the four seasons of the year. I can buy the pretty covers and use them like I change my clothes each season of the year. Variety. Less waste. Of course repurpose the 2024 planners. I’m learning. My ideas evolve. The difference between a planner and a journal. Reusing what I have already purchased. You are much more experienced than me. I can learn from you. Thank you.
Love watching your videos on a Sunday night - it’s like we’re doing a chill catchup 🫶🏽 looooove your lineup choices and I’m excited to see how they evolve! I enjoy year-over-year journaling (and I laughed at the weather tracking because I love to see what the weather patterns are in my 5 year 😆)
Using one calendar to note all aspects of my life gets too messy. Not enough space in the monthly part. I want one planner for general things of where I’m going when I’m leaving the house. Separate journals for: My written prayers. My health. My dog’s health and records. My mental health. I’m still thinking. I’ve purchased 8 dated journals. This was my first year to order from Hobonichi! I bought so much stuff. I also will repurpose 2024 journals. Like my pet’s health can be in a reposed journal. It’s so fun. Even if I don’t do what I hope to do, it will give me insight into the things that I care about and are important to me. The goal is to live my best Life now.
I am with in that using one calendar is messy! And I’m still trying to figure out what system works best for me. But I find if I start using a calendar for work and a calendar for religious events and a calendar for social events then I end up over scheduling because I don’t realize I had another commitment so I still find myself using a wall calendar and a whole two weeks, monthly calendars for everything!! And it does look cluttered and I can’t say that I love it but at least I am more aware of all the things I have going on and I’m not over scheduling or forgetting or missing out on some thing because I have other planners and calendars to keep track of. I hope that the system that you’re working on works for you I can’t imagine having that many planners and journals and calendars to keep track of. 😂 best of luck on your journey!!!
Thank you for sharing! The Hobonichi A5 cover looks beautiful-I’ve seen it in multiple videos from various channels, and I never get tired of it. Whenever I see that cover, I can’t help but click! :)
It makes sense to use journals with two haves. Smaller to carry around. For me if my journal is too small, it’s hard to write in it on the go without a table.
Do you have a list of all these in one place? What were you using - the first planner you showed on what planners you are considering ? I’ve been obsessed with all things planners for a year but I still find some planner vids confusing. And then going through a transcript is a nightmare.
I’m still trying to figure out 2025. I’m currently using a Hobonichi Original as my planner and journal and I like it, but I don’t know if I want to try something new. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and plans for 2025!
I'm of the mindset using what works for you. Don't try new things just because it's what's trendy on social media. At the end of the day, it's your planner and your life. 😊
I didn’t realize that the HON version does have all the RED things on each page. I’m new to planning. I also just discovered PLATTER? Journals small Bible size with 5 or 6 tiny rings.
Could you please tell me the name of your planner that is your everyday carry? It was is the pink one that you said lives with your wallet. Thank you. I appreciated the size and the calendar & weekly layouts…
I've never used a planner before. Usually, I just journal, but I've always wanted to have a planner I'll actually consistently use. I've never made it particularly fun to do, so maybe that's why I've never been able to actually keep one, but I want to get a Hobonichi Weeks because I think it's smaller so I can carry it around and it'll be more expensive than I'm used to spending on planners, so I think there'll be more incentive to actually use it. Plus, I'm gonna get stickers and stamps and stuff to make it more fun for me. I think it'll be nice to have alongside a more serious and detailed journal as a set. I really like the thought you put into how all of your planning and journaling is set up, really neat! My ADHD brain could never be so organized, but perhaps a planner could fix me a little, lol. Hope you have fun in this upcoming year with your new set up!!
I used to be that way with planners as well - I never made it fun, so it felt like work. Over the years, I've tried different planners to see what works. I've never been diagnosed with ADHD, but I do have symptoms. I've always loved journaling and planners but only in the last seven years have I found something that I can consistently stick with!
Did you check your hobonichis for the paper issue? I got a Weeks, then read about the issue with the TR in a lot of the 2025 nichis. I was testing with a slightly panicked edge because I wanted to have a lot of fun with my Inks this year.
I am using A5 SI as my self care and improving , journaling The sam Hobo weeks as my EDC and functional planning SI weekly booklet as my home manager I liked your lineup as journaling is a private thing and that is why i decided to use Hobo weeks and my functional planner Maybe in 2026 i will do the same as you did for 2025 ❤
8:37 I have also just bought a 2024 A6 size one as it was on sale on Amazon and I’ve been using it as a daily doodle/zentangle journal. I only use one side of the page for zentangle as some ink/pen combinations or maybe the zentangle itself causes the my inks to bleed through. Great lineup and inspiration for for next year, I’m still undecided. 😂
That sounds great, Karina. Hope this lineup will work for you. Just a little sad , I’ll miss your weekly plan with me in your hobonichi cousin weeks pages ❤.
Thank you! I did enjoy my Plan With Me's in an A5/Cousin but I found I wasn't using them the way I wanted to. Who knows? It could always be something I go back to in the future - that's the beauty of planning/journaling.
I love that your are using what you've got for some of your journals. And I love that you are sharing your thoughts as you've pivoted. I totally still have no idea what I will be doing moving into 2025. I bought all the pretty things and have a lot of options. But I couldn't possibly commit to my lineup this early lol. Ask me again the week after xmas leading up to new years and I may know by then 🤣
I totally get it! Everyone is different and this is very early to have this set up. Some people like their lineups to be ready in advance and some don't want to be tied down yet! And yes, I could not justify buying more notebooks (whether Hobonichi, Sterling Ink or Galen Leather) when I already had a stash I was not using!

So glad you’ve found a system that works for you! Excited to watch you learn your new system 🙂
Me too! I'm looking forward to sharing how it goes!

Exactly this!
What cover do you have for your A6 5yr journal? I love your lineup.
It's a custom from www.etsy.com/ca/shop/LeatherMarketOneBC
agree! so hard to decide when the year isn't close to being done yet!
Very true!

Ooh! You could use the monhtly spread in the A6 hon for 30 inks 30 days! It's begging for it lol
I like the way you think! I'm going to have to try that out.

That is the Sterling Ink Passport Planner!
@ thank you!
I like the variety of note books. I would like to keep a sketch notebook for birding to work on my retrospect memory.
I love that! I've heard so many different ideas for sketchbooks - a great way to keep the mind inspired and motivated.

Who did you watch for the mini a6 weekly
@amycampbell2264 I don’t watch anyone for the A6 Weekly calendar. I got the idea from @fromcarola

I want to get away from the red things on some of the Hobonichi journals which I love. I think the HON doesn’t use the red notations.
I have not compared the two.
What nail polish is that?
I don't know the brand unfortunately - it's from my nail salon.
Finding planner peace is hard. I keep buying and can’t decide.🤔
