Hey, Good question👍 - 1. Title: It is from the series of Berklee books - "A Modern Method for Guitar" One/Two/Three /Scales etc.
2. What is modern about it? That is a good question for Berklee Press. But, in my opinion, It covers scales from the classical/traditional harmonic material(over all key centre: traditional chord progressions) as well as contemporary(modern) harmonic material( modes / modal harmony). The author Larry Baione, well-recognized jazz guitar educator, designed this book and based it on his very rich teaching experience as a head of guitar department at Berklee.
