You dd very well piecing together 701 without prior knowledge, and I'm very glad you did this playthrough! Didn't even know this game existed! Agree with you on mechanics, like... let us throw the anchors down ourselves, you know? Let us use the Hume reader. Even if it's just in the woman's mind. There's a metric ton of SCP's that can make it into this game as chapters and I don't think it will ever be "finished" like that. But that's just great!!! Oh yeah and Site 76 is a "real" site. I can't remember what's contained there but I think the game took some liberties as to those details - which is fine. That _really_ does not matter, and there's little cross-canon - by intention - in the SCP universe either way.

The best part about this game is how expansive its able to become, it's not one of those games that'll end up running out of content because there's *thousands* of stories in the SCP that* is able to be adapted, this game does sound extremely promising and I hope it's live service in that regard

While I have no doubt they'll cover more popular SCP's later, I'm really glad they decided to start off with a less well known one for their Demo. Not only does it get people attracted to minor SCP's, but it also shows how the developers can work with very unusual storylines in creative and entertaining ways

Is The Hanged King less popular? It's woven into a lot of the semi-canon history of the Foundation and several groups of interest in the SCP universe - and appears in even more non-canon stories.

@@merona3581 From what I remember(it's been a while so I'm sorry for any inaccuracies), basically a long time ago humans and dragons used to be very closely intertwined. Dragons considered humans their greatest of friends/allies and vice versa. They would be able to meet and interact with each other's worlds through a big box(?), cavern(?). Over the years, however, humans began to believe less and less in the existence of dragons and so the meeting place box thing began to shrink and shrink. This leads to where the SCP article begins as the Foundation is investigating a small box with anomalous properties. Over the period of observation, the box spits out messages from a dragon who remembers the times of when humans and dragons intermingled with one another. The messages are about stuff like wondering where humanity had gone and how the dragons would always treasure humanity as a friend even if they hadn't been in contact for millennia. This box seemed to be only a one-way connection so I'm pretty sure the foundation wasn't able to send messages back. It's probably related to how much belief each species has towards another (dragons believe in humans so they can send messages, but not vice versa as humans don't believe in dragons), but this is only my speculation. The final messages begin to become more and more somber as the dragon details a war/catastrophe that is happening within the dragon world. Little origami dragons begin to get spit out of the box, I believe representing dead dragons from the war until the final message arrives. In it, the dragon that has been trying to contact us (humanity) gives us a final farewell that he and his fellow dragons were going to go away due to the war/disaster happening, but that they would never forget humanity and would always consider dragons and humans the closest of friends. As the message comes to an end, the dragon maintains hope in the fact that humans and dragons will meet again in the future. In an archive dominated mostly by the paranormal, the horrifying, and the terrifying, this story stands out as one that details an interesting history and an opportunity (however slim) for the future (no disrespect intended for the other entries). One of my favorites when I read it.

I feel like they also kinda forget that D-class members are bottom of the barrel members of society, so bad they've not just been condemned to death, they've been condemned to death by SCPs. To be used as experiments and extras until it kills them. I mean, there's nothing necessarily wrong with playing as one, but I doubt everyone wants to play as a terrible absolutely shit member of society trying to escape. D-class deserve whatever happens to them. The way they make you play most of the time is as if you're not supposed to perceive the character you're playing as as bad, you're supposed to see them as a regular person escaping being around dangerous SCPs.

One episode, you find yourself (the character) in an alleyway, health low, wounded and alone. Then, footsteps. A man approaches. He's wearing a suit. He looks down at you and smiles warmly. THen he pulls a cigarette out from a jacket pocket.
I do love how they send both you (the player) and her (the agent) in without telling either of you the slightest thing about whatever the fuck SCP 701 is. It's hilarious, it's creepy, and while it's pretty dumb from a in-universe point of view - it's also exactly the kind of thing the Foundation would do in some iterations. The thing with SCP is that everything is canon as much as nothing is. The Foundation can be bumbling morons in one story and then be on top of preventing world ending events in the next, and up to a certain extreme (aka bad writing and/or going outside the rules of the site) it's all more or less equally canon. That's part of what I love about the SCP fandom and all of the games and stories.

Ive been waiting for a game like this - alot of the most well known SCP games bounce off of Containment Breach's formula of "mass outbreak, abunch of things try to kill you on site" which is fun but also limits how far the game can grow over time - I always wished that someone would make a game focused on snapshots of different scps like chapters in a story instead, because then you could technically never run out of content because you wouldnt have to worry about fitting all of those SCPs into one location, among other things glad to see that wish has come true
My next project I want to work on is a 2D SCP RPG built like that, but it'll probably be another year or two before I can justify starting it since I'm already 3 years balls deep into my current project. The idea for the mainline story would be following the chain of events that leads to an XK class end of the world scenario, played through the eyes of different characters across the various chapters focusing on anything from D-Class experimentation to off-site containment of a new SCP, with the overarching narrative showing how even seemingly innocuous incidents could lead up to the big one. Honestly though my ultimate goal was to set up modding tools in the process, so people could also make their own. Map editors, simplified character/SCP editors, visual event scripting, maybe even LUA implementation. Basically want to make it in such a way that somebody could jump in with minimal effort and bring their favorite niche SCP scenario to life in a few hours, or plant their feet and make a sprawling epic exploring the narrative possibilities of being an O5 Overseer lol

Early on in the episode you had wondered why an exit sign was near the floor. This is because in a smoke filled environment it will help people reach the exit. Very useful for rescue personnel as well to get everyone to safety.

Scp-701 is a play. When rehearsed the actors go off-script without knowing it and whenever played in front of an audience the actors and the audience will end up keelling anyone they see and possibly committing unalive and angry and when ever caught they are dubed psychotic or comatic
6:50 Humes are a measurement or reality stability. 0 is the base level, normal reality. You go, let’s say, one Hume level up, a squirrel becomes blue, and that’s it. You get to, let’s say… 1000. Whatever reaches that level basically becomes god.
hume is a measure of how much reality is in a given area. most of earth is on the level of 90-120 hume, but it can get much higher near mountains. at very low hume levels even baseline humans become minor reality benders. at very high hume levels things appear vivid and otherworldly to baseline humans, but to reality benders it appears grey, flat, earthy. theyre ability to reality bend is heavily restricted if not outright removed.
Just based on the beginning of this video, I love the game already. The fact that each chapter/episode of it will be centered on a different SCP, with a different style and everything, is so fascinating, and I can't wait to see you play more of it when it comes out. The scariest part about SCP- 701 "The Hanged King's tragedy" is the fact that the Hanged King itself is an SCP and one of the most powerful in the wiki, the King of Alagadda with universe level powers...almost like the Crimson King

The Hanged King/The King in Yellow has a few separate narratives spun for them, about as many as they have names. IIRC in DrKaktus/Kaktus verse the hanged king is maybe like a demigod. but for others its more like Cthulhu. IIRC, there are also a few characters in those verses that assume The Hanged King is the Crimson king, or, the King of Chaos.

I like the look of this game very much. Seeing scp's loyally recreated in 3d is always amazing. Regarding the sound design: the ambience is too loud and loud sounds happen too often. S I find silent fear is a lot more effective so when you do hear something it has more effect. Like the doors opening or even the rats should be quieter and then a random one can be loud making you worry what's different. Also the mannequins moving shouldn't be indicated with a sound as youd more likely notice the change only later and be more surprised (if you notice at all). Lastly I like the discovery of an scp through the game (getting more info as you go) but personally I prefer clue style where you only have bits and have to figure out the rest yourself (basic explanation is good as more people understand). I would like to see clue style for less known scp's as it'd be more effective since not many people would know the info already (and skip the point of the chapter). Also I know they mentioned 1 scp at a time but would like to see multiple interacting/invading a facility (safe facility now unsafe example). Otherwise amazing project that can endlessly be expanded...
Dude this is so good, not only was the ending typical of a great scp entry, but it introduces a fun interaction of what happens when a cognitohazard gets too close to a reality bender anomaly. That's why the Bella was able to stop the physical threat the way she did.
@@lukasx4 Usually cognitohazards aren't things you can harm, it's like reading writing on the walls and then becoming a sound-sensitive bomb or touching an object and getting stalked by a shadow creature that nothing can detect. It has an effect on you, but it only exists in your mind, so you can't stab it anymore than any other hallucination. When a reality bender comes into play, a cognitohazard that affects your perception now becomes reality. Humans act as bridge between essentially. Now the mental threat has a physical form, so it can be attacked. Thus, if you stab a cognitohazard entity with an anti-cognitohazard drug that your supposed to use on yourself, like the main character did, then you can kill or incapacitate the cognitohazard's physical manifestation which ends the mental threat too. Now if she went back and read the play again, it would come back, but at this point she should know not to do that lol.
I would love to see a 'Iron Lung'-like section dedicated to SCP-169, a.k.a "Leviathan". A massive sea creature that causes tsunamis and seismic activity whenever it shifts a little in its sleep. Imagine you are inside a submarine and you are forced to navigate carefully throughout the area and collect samples of waste biological matter from the creature. But as the mission continues, the creature's activity increases and the mission control is borderline about to call an K-Class scenarios (likely CK-Restructing or one of the humanity extinction scenarios) as everyone thinks it is awakening. I think it would work so well in that near cosmic horror aspect as you feel helpless even with all the power of the Foundation, you can't do nothing against this creature. The fright and panic that occurs at the Foundation. I feel as though everyone forgets that K-Class scenarios are insane and that they are signs that shit has hit the fan hella fast.
a better SCP for something like this would be SCP 1128, the Aquatic horror, rather than SCP 169, as a creature that big sort of takes out the "in the moment" horror since if your dealing with a moving SCP 169, then continents are gonna be shaking and that's more apocalyptic horror rather then deep-sea horror like how iron lung was

SCP 701 is such a fascinating SCP it’s one of my favorites. It’s a play of a king (The Hanged King of Alagadda) that is betrayed and hanged, and if shown causes the audience to kill each other. It’s also interesting because Alagadda is like a hun for god-like entities and the Hanged King is a servant to the Scarlet King (who may be scp-001 depending on what you think)

The Scranton reality anchor only have a limited ranges. The portalable anchors normally have a smaller radius. Unlike the one used in scp-1730 aka site-13 which was such a large anchor it was able to anchor the entire facility.
For those who are curious to what the anomoly is; Apparently by stories, they state SCP 701 is a figure wrapped in almost mummified clothing that has a deep connection to the play 'The Hanged King's Tragedy'. There are five acts to the play and those who watch it would state it was quiet the proformance, however, on the last stage, it was said that the anomoly causes suicidal behavior and even murderous thoughts at the end, causing the wtinesses of the play to kill each other and even kill themselves, hinting the term 'Hanged'.
Close, but SCP-701 is the play itself, and the script to an extent. As far as I know, just reading it doesn't do much at first but it eventually creates a compulsion to spread the script around and "act it out" with a group of people ensnared by the compulsion. All the actors in the play kill themselves by hanging, I believe, and all this feeds the Hanged King himself (SCP-2264-5) somehow.
23:05 that’s scp 002 actually, not 106, as a quick recap it basically is a room of flesh inside the ball, shaped like a living room, and anyone who is left inside for long gets transformed into a random piece of furniture or decoration made of flesh and body parts
701 is only supposed to inflict its effects onto people who perform the play and those who view the performance. I really want to know what the three SCPs that were used in that big cross test were now. Combining SCPs can rarely end up with a good outcome, so "releasing" the hanged king into the containment site somehow is an interesting direction to take.
Hopefully this is a game that gets finished. Getting annoyed with games that haven't left the demo stage in years or get cancelled. Especially because this one has some above average quality.
i have high hopes for this game. i feel like this is going to be finished. it's just too good for a game and i feel like they really already put their heart and souls into making this demo so I won't doubt that they will finish it
@@damnfunnychicken The cinematics, sure. The graphics need some polishing before I would hold it to triple A standards. It looked kind of poor at some parts. And at the end of the day, nothing we saw so far made it stand out from traditional walk and run indie horror games. Given each chapter is meant to be unique though, I don't have low expectations.

This was a genius move on the creators part! The way that the demo was executed and played out was amazing! And each sequence only focusing on one SCP and not multiple at the same time is very refreshing, the potential that this game holds is boundless, but what they do with it will decide it’s future as a new SCP game. Loved this play through IGP, had me on the edge of my seat the entire time! *I can’t wait for the full release! I need to see 049 in HD!*
Looks ok and I agree with the boundless potential it has. Just have a few nitpicks, scares are pretty weak relying solely on sound effects, police line in the SCP Foundation?, that part where Bald Eagle's signal was cutting off, lines could be better (it reads like someone who learned English from a non-native ESL teacher), less is more, show don't tell. Idk why she has to narrate every little obvious thing. Place looks a bit too clean, needs more detail. Like show some photos or personal items in the offices, notes, a bit of banter in the computer logs between coworkers. Just a sign that individuals work there. Mannequins were overused. And the voice acting. Game devs take note: Either you invest in good voice acting or don't include it at all. This can make or break your indie game. And it isn't even just the accent, delivery, intonation, etc. It's the sound of the voice itself. You wouldn't put a sultry voiced woman for a cute little pixie character. You wouldn't put a 20something sounding nervous intern for an old jaded badass SCP veteran character, you don't want high upbeat sounding voices in a horror game. I know this is only a demo. Hoping to see more SCPs displaying their anomalous qualities in the full release + improved gameplay.

Dude u don’t understand how the foundation works inside it’s reality, u don’t know every file, u only get acces to files that u r working on, if u r a researcher, if u r a mtf member only the leader will get acces and debrief each member as he sees fit, also, the hanged king is under the scarlet king, which is a Scp-001 proposal with high level security, our character would have to be at least a lead researcher in a correlate scp to get even a chance to know about them, u r right about the cognitohaxard though cuz the foundation has a machine that identifies them n I don’t know she doesn’t have it (?). Also a monster that vanishes practically never has anything to do with reality bending or hume levels so it wouldn’t make sense for to check them
Man, I haven't seen anyone attempt to tackle the hanged king. It's done well although there can always be more done. Algata could have shown up as well which would have been interesting to get IGPs reaction too. Great time though! Look forward to more.
For folks coming to comments for info on SCP 701: It's a 5 part play (similar to Macbeth) called The Hanged King's Tragedy, it may cause both the actors and the audience members to become incredibly violent and/or commit suicide during a performance. Typically this happens on opening night or otherwise on whichever day will have the largest group of people in attendance, survivors will continue to exhibit acts of violence for 24hrs following exposure to SCP 701 but may have with memory loss after this time period. SCP 701-1 is the actual entity that appears (the hanged king) while the play itself is the primary SCP 701.
I love the demo's ending where Agent Q said the survivor is the black box itself since he told Bella in the beginning that the black box functions as a 'recorder of events surrounding a certain SCP' to paraphrase. Bella experienced SCP-701 and technically survived, therefore she IS the black box for SCP-701. Brilliant. I will never play this game myself because I am a wuss but if there is a let's play of this game in the future I will definitely watch it.
I mean the mission itself isn't recontaining because the foundation doesn't know what they're up against (hence the reason why they need the info inside the black box)no way the foundation just sent random mtf's, it's a literally Wasting life,the scp foundation would take extra precautions because they're up against a reality bender

This project looks amazing, only thing I'd say is that there's not really much gameplay, and for what little gameplay there is we get the 'Ubisoft first person narrator' stuff ("I should go and pick up that very important flashing red object") with the reality anchors and interactables that kind of undermines the player's intelligence more than help them - but this sort of thing can easily be made up for with a good narrative, which SCP can totally deliver on.
As a demo, the gameplay being basically just an interactive movie isn't really a bad thing. The goal is to drum up interest for investors I am sure. Gotta admit, I am interested in seeing what they do with it.

Standard procedure. First step is to introduce only one subject to limit exposure. Depending on what happens to the subject determines what subsequent measures are taken.
Interesting detail I noticed: in the recording at 21:57 where the other doctor is complaining about Dr. Cooper and his team, he says that he'll "write to the minister" with his complaints, indicating that he is also being influenced by SCP 701. Pretty sure that the SCP foundation doesn't have ministers, but court from the Hanged King seems to.

I think Containment Breach was a really good start into the SCP genre but I am excited for the chapters. That way you can experience and learn more about single SCPs without having to juggle multiples of them!

SCP-096 level idea for the game!: As y'all know, SCP-096 hates being looked at. It hurts him and reminds him of all the terrible things he's been through. If you look at him, he'll enter a state of emotional distress, crying, babbling, and screaming incoherently for around a minute before it kills you. To prevent that, immediately put a bag on his head or run around 10 meters away from him. SCP-096 will roam around while crying, sometimes sitting down, hugging himself, drying tears from his eyes, even banging doors or walls and playing with empty bullet shells(or something like that) to relieve stress. If you're around him, don't look at his face, even if he interacts with you. If he sees you he might ignore you or go near you in a timid way, and sometimes, he would use gestures to ask for a hug if he feels like it(hugs can comfort him). 096 would also try to mumble out words in German or English(when breached, he can be found either in English mountains or German mountains because he's of both states) like "sorry" or "hilfe" which means "help". He doesn't need to eat, but sometimes he chews on fresh meat to keep him calm when very grumpy(stress eating lol). SCP-096 doesn't like being alone all the time so he searches for a stuffed toy or action figure to mumble to or play with, and sometimes brings the object with him. Though, he would always except your warm arms as long as you don't hurt him. He doesn't die but he does get knocked out, when he does, he cries till he falls asleep for 2 minutes(he doesn't need to sleep but it also comforts him). SCP-096 rarely giggles a little or show a smile, but he doesn't find most silly things funny after all he's been through. He gets embarrassed and flustered when you complement him about "how fascinating he is" or "the adorable things he does" because as said, he is very shy and anxious, and he worries for his, and sometimes, YOUR well being surprisingly(he doesn't like killing people, but he has too since it's the only way to stop his pain when people look at him). He is a misunderstood and corrupted monster with a giant, frozen heart. IPG, you BETTER send this idea to the creators of this game! If not I am sueing you! Edit: and tell them to bring back the Containment Breach Voice, but edit the screams like in Secret Labs!
That's amazing! What I hope they do is they add seasons, and the chapter 1 of every season is a different SCP-001, because for those that don't know, there are multiple SCP-001 entries to coverup the true SCP-001. I'm looking forward to this game!

*OH. MY. GOD. THIS IS AMAZING!!!!* I haven't been so excited for a horror game (specially for an SCP game) for a LONG time now. This seems like it could really be something *BIG* with all the stories it could have, and I absolutely love it so far. I'm hyped af to see how they make the *Here be Dragons* one, it is by far my favorite SCP story out of every single one that I've read. I *really* hope they don't abandon this, it has so much potential.

That bound red glowing entity is something I remember in my dreams down to it's noises, behaviors, the way it moved, etc. I went into watching this video bc I was hoping for Plague Doc & something to play when I stream, but now I don't want to play it bc of creepily precise matching sensory traumatic stress.
Context: I had horrible nightmares of the red guy, who I called "strangle daddy" when I was 4 years old going on 5, basically around the year 1992. I literally broke out in cold sweats watching each scene with "strangle daddy" that I had to pause before continuing to watch the video every time to calm myself & dab away my oddly cool temperature sweat. I don't know how I could've been able to dream the entity in the game around the year 1992, bc the SCP horrorpasta fanfictions didn't exist back then. Can someone explain how one can have an imagination that vivid during childhood to be able to even call the entity "strangle daddy" specifically & then see the exact same thing in a video game. I don't know how, but it's definitely a thing. I also had disassociation episodes after a year passed in that everyone looked like animated human or pet sized art mannequins. Too much is synonymous, I really need a scientific explanation so I can have some peace of mind.

The SCP in the picture at 22:55 is actually SCP-002 aka "The Living Room" - it's a giant floating tumor containing a door that leads to a modest apartment made of "organic material" (people meat) and every time a living organism is placed inside the room, they get turned into furniture.

The best example of this that I can think of is SCP-4885 aka Where's waldo, the entity will hunt you if you know his specific location.

Is The Hanged King less popular? It's woven into a lot of the semi-canon history of the Foundation and several groups of interest in the SCP universe - and appears in even more non-canon stories.

@@merona3581 From what I remember(it's been a while so I'm sorry for any inaccuracies), basically a long time ago humans and dragons used to be very closely intertwined. Dragons considered humans their greatest of friends/allies and vice versa. They would be able to meet and interact with each other's worlds through a big box(?), cavern(?). Over the years, however, humans began to believe less and less in the existence of dragons and so the meeting place box thing began to shrink and shrink. This leads to where the SCP article begins as the Foundation is investigating a small box with anomalous properties. Over the period of observation, the box spits out messages from a dragon who remembers the times of when humans and dragons intermingled with one another. The messages are about stuff like wondering where humanity had gone and how the dragons would always treasure humanity as a friend even if they hadn't been in contact for millennia. This box seemed to be only a one-way connection so I'm pretty sure the foundation wasn't able to send messages back. It's probably related to how much belief each species has towards another (dragons believe in humans so they can send messages, but not vice versa as humans don't believe in dragons), but this is only my speculation. The final messages begin to become more and more somber as the dragon details a war/catastrophe that is happening within the dragon world. Little origami dragons begin to get spit out of the box, I believe representing dead dragons from the war until the final message arrives. In it, the dragon that has been trying to contact us (humanity) gives us a final farewell that he and his fellow dragons were going to go away due to the war/disaster happening, but that they would never forget humanity and would always consider dragons and humans the closest of friends. As the message comes to an end, the dragon maintains hope in the fact that humans and dragons will meet again in the future.
In an archive dominated mostly by the paranormal, the horrifying, and the terrifying, this story stands out as one that details an interesting history and an opportunity (however slim) for the future (no disrespect intended for the other entries). One of my favorites when I read it.

I feel like they also kinda forget that D-class members are bottom of the barrel members of society, so bad they've not just been condemned to death, they've been condemned to death by SCPs. To be used as experiments and extras until it kills them. I mean, there's nothing necessarily wrong with playing as one, but I doubt everyone wants to play as a terrible absolutely shit member of society trying to escape. D-class deserve whatever happens to them. The way they make you play most of the time is as if you're not supposed to perceive the character you're playing as as bad, you're supposed to see them as a regular person escaping being around dangerous SCPs.
I wanna see one in which you have "lives" and "respawn" mechanics where you play as Dr. Bright, because yeah he's probably the only human who can do that (aside from that guy in Confinement youtube series by Lord Bung, but idk if he's canon)

I do love how they send both you (the player) and her (the agent) in without telling either of you the slightest thing about whatever the fuck SCP 701 is. It's hilarious, it's creepy, and while it's pretty dumb from a in-universe point of view - it's also exactly the kind of thing the Foundation would do in some iterations.
The thing with SCP is that everything is canon as much as nothing is. The Foundation can be bumbling morons in one story and then be on top of preventing world ending events in the next, and up to a certain extreme (aka bad writing and/or going outside the rules of the site) it's all more or less equally canon. That's part of what I love about the SCP fandom and all of the games and stories.

Ive been waiting for a game like this - alot of the most well known SCP games bounce off of Containment Breach's formula of "mass outbreak, abunch of things try to kill you on site" which is fun but also limits how far the game can grow over time - I always wished that someone would make a game focused on snapshots of different scps like chapters in a story instead, because then you could technically never run out of content because you wouldnt have to worry about fitting all of those SCPs into one location, among other things

My next project I want to work on is a 2D SCP RPG built like that, but it'll probably be another year or two before I can justify starting it since I'm already 3 years balls deep into my current project.
The idea for the mainline story would be following the chain of events that leads to an XK class end of the world scenario, played through the eyes of different characters across the various chapters focusing on anything from D-Class experimentation to off-site containment of a new SCP, with the overarching narrative showing how even seemingly innocuous incidents could lead up to the big one.
Honestly though my ultimate goal was to set up modding tools in the process, so people could also make their own. Map editors, simplified character/SCP editors, visual event scripting, maybe even LUA implementation. Basically want to make it in such a way that somebody could jump in with minimal effort and bring their favorite niche SCP scenario to life in a few hours, or plant their feet and make a sprawling epic exploring the narrative possibilities of being an O5 Overseer lol

I'd argue the majority of scp games worth a mention focus on a single scp. They just don't have the talent, money or numbers to get anything going.

Early on in the episode you had wondered why an exit sign was near the floor. This is because in a smoke filled environment it will help people reach the exit. Very useful for rescue personnel as well to get everyone to safety.

Scp-701 is a play. When rehearsed the actors go off-script without knowing it and whenever played in front of an audience the actors and the audience will end up keelling anyone they see and possibly committing unalive and angry and when ever caught they are dubed psychotic or comatic
6:50 Humes are a measurement or reality stability. 0 is the base level, normal reality. You go, let’s say, one Hume level up, a squirrel becomes blue, and that’s it. You get to, let’s say… 1000. Whatever reaches that level basically becomes god.
hume is a measure of how much reality is in a given area. most of earth is on the level of 90-120 hume, but it can get much higher near mountains. at very low hume levels even baseline humans become minor reality benders. at very high hume levels things appear vivid and otherworldly to baseline humans, but to reality benders it appears grey, flat, earthy. theyre ability to reality bend is heavily restricted if not outright removed.
Just based on the beginning of this video, I love the game already. The fact that each chapter/episode of it will be centered on a different SCP, with a different style and everything, is so fascinating, and I can't wait to see you play more of it when it comes out. The Plague Doctor looks amazing. ^__^
SCP-1762 is gonna be either really uplifting or REALLY throw IGP fans not familar with the SCP for a loop with a emotion gut punch isntead of horror.

The scariest part about SCP- 701 "The Hanged King's tragedy" is the fact that the Hanged King itself is an SCP and one of the most powerful in the wiki, the King of Alagadda with universe level powers...almost like the Crimson King

The Hanged King/The King in Yellow has a few separate narratives spun for them, about as many as they have names. IIRC in DrKaktus/Kaktus verse the hanged king is maybe like a demigod. but for others its more like Cthulhu.
IIRC, there are also a few characters in those verses that assume The Hanged King is the Crimson king, or, the King of Chaos.

I like the look of this game very much. Seeing scp's loyally recreated in 3d is always amazing. Regarding the sound design: the ambience is too loud and loud sounds happen too often. S
I find silent fear is a lot more effective so when you do hear something it has more effect. Like the doors opening or even the rats should be quieter and then a random one can be loud making you worry what's different. Also the mannequins moving shouldn't be indicated with a sound as youd more likely notice the change only later and be more surprised (if you notice at all). Lastly I like the discovery of an scp through the game (getting more info as you go) but personally I prefer clue style where you only have bits and have to figure out the rest yourself (basic explanation is good as more people understand). I would like to see clue style for less known scp's as it'd be more effective since not many people would know the info already (and skip the point of the chapter). Also I know they mentioned 1 scp at a time but would like to see multiple interacting/invading a facility (safe facility now unsafe example). Otherwise amazing project that can endlessly be expanded...
Dude this is so good, not only was the ending typical of a great scp entry, but it introduces a fun interaction of what happens when a cognitohazard gets too close to a reality bender anomaly. That's why the Bella was able to stop the physical threat the way she did.

@@lukasx4 Usually cognitohazards aren't things you can harm, it's like reading writing on the walls and then becoming a sound-sensitive bomb or touching an object and getting stalked by a shadow creature that nothing can detect. It has an effect on you, but it only exists in your mind, so you can't stab it anymore than any other hallucination. When a reality bender comes into play, a cognitohazard that affects your perception now becomes reality. Humans act as bridge between essentially. Now the mental threat has a physical form, so it can be attacked. Thus, if you stab a cognitohazard entity with an anti-cognitohazard drug that your supposed to use on yourself, like the main character did, then you can kill or incapacitate the cognitohazard's physical manifestation which ends the mental threat too. Now if she went back and read the play again, it would come back, but at this point she should know not to do that lol.

I would love to see a 'Iron Lung'-like section dedicated to SCP-169, a.k.a "Leviathan". A massive sea creature that causes tsunamis and seismic activity whenever it shifts a little in its sleep.
Imagine you are inside a submarine and you are forced to navigate carefully throughout the area and collect samples of waste biological matter from the creature. But as the mission continues, the creature's activity increases and the mission control is borderline about to call an K-Class scenarios (likely CK-Restructing or one of the humanity extinction scenarios) as everyone thinks it is awakening.
I think it would work so well in that near cosmic horror aspect as you feel helpless even with all the power of the Foundation, you can't do nothing against this creature. The fright and panic that occurs at the Foundation. I feel as though everyone forgets that K-Class scenarios are insane and that they are signs that shit has hit the fan hella fast.
a better SCP for something like this would be SCP 1128, the Aquatic horror, rather than SCP 169, as a creature that big sort of takes out the "in the moment" horror since if your dealing with a moving SCP 169, then continents are gonna be shaking and that's more apocalyptic horror rather then deep-sea horror like how iron lung was
They can fix the Leviathan problem if theyre capable of rendering mid class reality benders useless

SCP 701 is such a fascinating SCP it’s one of my favorites. It’s a play of a king (The Hanged King of Alagadda) that is betrayed and hanged, and if shown causes the audience to kill each other. It’s also interesting because Alagadda is like a hun for god-like entities and the Hanged King is a servant to the Scarlet King (who may be scp-001 depending on what you think)

SCP-701 is the Hanged King's tragedy. Basically, it's a play with people performing in it (apparently chimpanzees work to, as said in the game) and an entity starts showing itself until everybody kills himself/eachother. That's also probably why manikins are everywhere; because it's a show
The Scranton reality anchor only have a limited ranges. The portalable anchors normally have a smaller radius. Unlike the one used in scp-1730 aka site-13 which was such a large anchor it was able to anchor the entire facility.
For those who are curious to what the anomoly is; Apparently by stories, they state SCP 701 is a figure wrapped in almost mummified clothing that has a deep connection to the play 'The Hanged King's Tragedy'. There are five acts to the play and those who watch it would state it was quiet the proformance, however, on the last stage, it was said that the anomoly causes suicidal behavior and even murderous thoughts at the end, causing the wtinesses of the play to kill each other and even kill themselves, hinting the term 'Hanged'.
Close, but SCP-701 is the play itself, and the script to an extent. As far as I know, just reading it doesn't do much at first but it eventually creates a compulsion to spread the script around and "act it out" with a group of people ensnared by the compulsion. All the actors in the play kill themselves by hanging, I believe, and all this feeds the Hanged King himself (SCP-2264-5) somehow.

701 is only supposed to inflict its effects onto people who perform the play and those who view the performance. I really want to know what the three SCPs that were used in that big cross test were now. Combining SCPs can rarely end up with a good outcome, so "releasing" the hanged king into the containment site somehow is an interesting direction to take.
Well, it would've had to have been two that were passive cause thats all that facility held so Im very curios...

@@damnfunnychicken The cinematics, sure. The graphics need some polishing before I would hold it to triple A standards. It looked kind of poor at some parts. And at the end of the day, nothing we saw so far made it stand out from traditional walk and run indie horror games. Given each chapter is meant to be unique though, I don't have low expectations.

I gotta admit featuring The hanged Kings Tragedy in this is a pretty neat idea, and yes alot of what you see in SCP games isn't 100% canon which is fine of course because it's not MEANT to be, I'm interested to see how this game developes due to the abundanceof tales and files they have to chose from, not gonna lie if they find a way to do one on 682 I may just cry haha, Also I have to admit I cackled like a Hyena when you dropped into 087, your reaction was perfect 👍

This was a genius move on the creators part! The way that the demo was executed and played out was amazing! And each sequence only focusing on one SCP and not multiple at the same time is very refreshing, the potential that this game holds is boundless, but what they do with it will decide it’s future as a new SCP game. Loved this play through IGP, had me on the edge of my seat the entire time!

Looks ok and I agree with the boundless potential it has. Just have a few nitpicks, scares are pretty weak relying solely on sound effects, police line in the SCP Foundation?, that part where Bald Eagle's signal was cutting off, lines could be better (it reads like someone who learned English from a non-native ESL teacher), less is more, show don't tell. Idk why she has to narrate every little obvious thing. Place looks a bit too clean, needs more detail. Like show some photos or personal items in the offices, notes, a bit of banter in the computer logs between coworkers. Just a sign that individuals work there. Mannequins were overused. And the voice acting. Game devs take note: Either you invest in good voice acting or don't include it at all. This can make or break your indie game. And it isn't even just the accent, delivery, intonation, etc. It's the sound of the voice itself. You wouldn't put a sultry voiced woman for a cute little pixie character. You wouldn't put a 20something sounding nervous intern for an old jaded badass SCP veteran character, you don't want high upbeat sounding voices in a horror game. I know this is only a demo. Hoping to see more SCPs displaying their anomalous qualities in the full release + improved gameplay.

Man, I haven't seen anyone attempt to tackle the hanged king. It's done well although there can always be more done. Algata could have shown up as well which would have been interesting to get IGPs reaction too. Great time though! Look forward to more.
For folks coming to comments for info on SCP 701:
It's a 5 part play (similar to Macbeth) called The Hanged King's Tragedy, it may cause both the actors and the audience members to become incredibly violent and/or commit suicide during a performance. Typically this happens on opening night or otherwise on whichever day will have the largest group of people in attendance, survivors will continue to exhibit acts of violence for 24hrs following exposure to SCP 701 but may have with memory loss after this time period. SCP 701-1 is the actual entity that appears (the hanged king) while the play itself is the primary SCP 701.
I love the demo's ending where Agent Q said the survivor is the black box itself since he told Bella in the beginning that the black box functions as a 'recorder of events surrounding a certain SCP' to paraphrase. Bella experienced SCP-701 and technically survived, therefore she IS the black box for SCP-701. Brilliant. I will never play this game myself because I am a wuss but if there is a let's play of this game in the future I will definitely watch it.

This project looks amazing, only thing I'd say is that there's not really much gameplay, and for what little gameplay there is we get the 'Ubisoft first person narrator' stuff ("I should go and pick up that very important flashing red object") with the reality anchors and interactables that kind of undermines the player's intelligence more than help them - but this sort of thing can easily be made up for with a good narrative, which SCP can totally deliver on.
As a demo, the gameplay being basically just an interactive movie isn't really a bad thing. The goal is to drum up interest for investors I am sure. Gotta admit, I am interested in seeing what they do with it.

Interesting detail I noticed: in the recording at 21:57 where the other doctor is complaining about Dr. Cooper and his team, he says that he'll "write to the minister" with his complaints, indicating that he is also being influenced by SCP 701. Pretty sure that the SCP foundation doesn't have ministers, but court from the Hanged King seems to.

If you brain needs help thinking about it, its works like an air conditioning system. Instead of temperature, it regulates how real stuff is in a given area of effect.

I think Containment Breach was a really good start into the SCP genre but I am excited for the chapters. That way you can experience and learn more about single SCPs without having to juggle multiples of them!

SCP-096 level idea for the game!:
As y'all know, SCP-096 hates being looked at. It hurts him and reminds him of all the terrible things he's been through. If you look at him, he'll enter a state of emotional distress, crying, babbling, and screaming incoherently for around a minute before it kills you. To prevent that, immediately put a bag on his head or run around 10 meters away from him.
SCP-096 will roam around while crying, sometimes sitting down, hugging himself, drying tears from his eyes, even banging doors or walls and playing with empty bullet shells(or something like that) to relieve stress. If you're around him, don't look at his face, even if he interacts with you. If he sees you he might ignore you or go near you in a timid way, and sometimes, he would use gestures to ask for a hug if he feels like it(hugs can comfort him). 096 would also try to mumble out words in German or English(when breached, he can be found either in English mountains or German mountains because he's of both states) like "sorry" or "hilfe" which means "help".
He doesn't need to eat, but sometimes he chews on fresh meat to keep him calm when very grumpy(stress eating lol). SCP-096 doesn't like being alone all the time so he searches for a stuffed toy or action figure to mumble to or play with, and sometimes brings the object with him. Though, he would always except your warm arms as long as you don't hurt him. He doesn't die but he does get knocked out, when he does, he cries till he falls asleep for 2 minutes(he doesn't need to sleep but it also comforts him).
SCP-096 rarely giggles a little or show a smile, but he doesn't find most silly things funny after all he's been through. He gets embarrassed and flustered when you complement him about "how fascinating he is" or "the adorable things he does" because as said, he is very shy and anxious, and he worries for his, and sometimes, YOUR well being surprisingly(he doesn't like killing people, but he has too since it's the only way to stop his pain when people look at him). He is a misunderstood and corrupted monster with a giant, frozen heart.
IPG, you BETTER send this idea to the creators of this game! If not I am sueing you!
Edit: and tell them to bring back the Containment Breach Voice, but edit the screams like in Secret Labs!
That's amazing! What I hope they do is they add seasons, and the chapter 1 of every season is a different SCP-001, because for those that don't know, there are multiple SCP-001 entries to coverup the true SCP-001. I'm looking forward to this game!

*OH. MY. GOD. THIS IS AMAZING!!!!* I haven't been so excited for a horror game (specially for an SCP game) for a LONG time now. This seems like it could really be something *BIG* with all the stories it could have, and I absolutely love it so far.
I'm hyped af to see how they make the *Here be Dragons* one, it is by far my favorite SCP story out of every single one that I've read.

This video reignited vivid childhood nightmares that triggered my expressed & most terrified screams in my own bedroom. That bound red glowing entity is something I remember in my dreams down to it's noises, behaviors, the way it moved, etc.
I went into watching this video bc I was hoping for Plague Doc & something to play when I stream, but now I don't want to play it bc of creepily precise matching sensory traumatic stress.
Context: I had horrible nightmares of the red guy, who I called "strangle daddy" when I was 4 years old going on 5, basically around the year 1992.
I literally broke out in cold sweats watching each scene with "strangle daddy" that I had to pause before continuing to watch the video every time to calm myself & dab away my oddly cool temperature sweat.
I don't know how I could've been able to dream the entity in the game around the year 1992, bc the SCP horrorpasta fanfictions didn't exist back then.

I don't know how, but it's definitely a thing. I also had disassociation episodes after a year passed in that everyone looked like animated human or pet sized art mannequins. Too much is synonymous, I really need a scientific explanation so I can have some peace of mind.

Hey IGP, apparantly the new demo for 'SCP fragmented minds' is going to drop soon so it would be cool to see you play that. I was looking at some of their stuff and apparantly the game is competely different from back when you played it however from what ive seen its only gotten better.

Just cool ideas that are detailed enough to give an interesting story and a channel I still watch today does cool SCP readings, Volgun. However, when someone views SCP-096's face, whether it be directly, via video recording, or even a photograph, it will enter a stage of considerable emotional distress. SCP-096 will cover its face with its hands and begin screaming, crying, and babbling incoherently. Approximately one (1) to two (2) minutes after the first viewing, SCP-096 will begin running to the person who viewed its face (who will from this point on be referred to as SCP-096-1).
Documented speeds have varied from thirty-five (35) km/h to ███ km/h, and seems to depend on distance from SCP-096-1. At this point, no known material or method can impede SCP-096's progress. The actual position of SCP-096-1 does not seem to affect SCP-096's response; it seems to have an innate sense of SCP-096-1's location. Upon arriving at SCP-096-1's location, SCP-096 will proceed to kill and [DATA EXPUNGED] SCP-096-1. 100% of cases have left no traces of SCP-096-1. Due to the possibility of a mass chain reaction, including breach of Foundation secrecy and large civilian loss of life, retrieval of subject should be considered Alpha priority.
