The windows really help keeping us sane. May sound weird but sunlight is super important in the winter months. We purposely have them on the east and south walls to capture the light from sunup to sundown in the winter months.
Welcome aboard Linda! We are so glad you are here! The good news is our channel is only 2 weeks old so you've found us at the right time... Thanks for being apart of our Living Free Journey!
I love the smoke color. I love your inside “living room”. It looks comfy. Great video. The house is coming along great. One step closer to it becoming your home! 😊
@@LivingFreeAlaska Right!? I remember the first day we moved out of the camper. We didn’t even have all the roof sheeting on yet. Ha! But at least we could sit right next to the woodstove and not freeze to death. Ha! We had 15 5 gallon buckets, catching the drips from the unfinished roof. Literally 15. Ha!
Great see you moving in with the motor home. Quite envious of Snowmobile ride. 🥶Thanks for super 👁️photography, moose, mountains and house tour. Phil, Suffolk, U.K.🇬🇧(17 March)
I have a heated shirt that I have used this winter when out riding our snowmachines. It has kept m my core VERY warm. Haven't tried socks or gloves yet as my feet stay very warm in my boots and when riding my handlebars are heated and do a very good job of keeping the fingers warm.
Love middle sample of carpeting, but really any of those would look great. Love your channel. Bless you both from Washington State living in McCleary Washington.
Yeah... I don't want to think about it... 😩 Thankfully that was almost two years ago. Still feeling the repercussions of it but wouldn't change a thing. We love it here. ❤️ Thanks for dropping in today. Have a great weekend.
I did too but Vintage pewter finally won as we only have the carpet in the bedrooms and our upstairs den (less chance to get dirty.) Thanks for letting us know.
Yes... but we chose to go lighter because we didn't want to go any darker due to our dark winters. And regardless we have a husky... theres no hiding her hair anywhere. 🤣
It’s 121 feet and we cover it in this video: EXCAVATING Begins on the Homestead & TENT CAMPING in the Talkeetna's th-cam.com/video/OIxoDinqHcM/w-d-xo.html
We hit 40 below a couple weeks ago and we live in a trailer park the nabor isn't from montana and he's like my waters frozen amd I told him we are all frozen he ask how long? and I told him that as long as it takes, I don't know if nothing brakes it could be tomorrow or 3 weeks last year we had to fix it
Yes please watch Sophie when outside walking around by herself as those bird birds will just scoop down and grab her. Love your videos but I will stay here in New Jersey where it is at least in the 30s-40s in the winter.
We always do. In fact I saved her life just five minutes ago when an eagle circled back to check her out. When I saw his shadow I stepped out from under the eve and he decided to pass on by. YIKES!!! Never a dull moment here.
I was just wondering how long did it take you to build your home. From start to finish. Where you got everything moved in. Love your videos. Me there’s no way I could move there. Way too cold. I like my Iowa weather.
We started the build in June of 2021, framing was complete in September of 2021, we moved in with about 90% complete in August of 2022 and today we still have a few things to finish to call it completely done. Still waiting to finish exterior painting and getting our gutters installed. The relationship with the builder, like most custom home builds waned over the summer of 2022 and we have been left to finish everything else on our own for the most part since that time. By next weekend we should have the Channel caught up to that timeframe and the start of 2023.
You seem well off so You are not having a hard time at all compared to some in Alaska. And I hope You realize You got ripped off by Your Contractor. They all overcharge and even more in Alaska.
Add the CV times on top of everything else too! Yes... needless to say the builder never "finished" our build and we are doing the final things ourselves. As with most custom bulids the relationships with the builder... someone loses in the end... and well we are just glad we got a house. He was the ONLY builder who would build our home in 2021 and at our location... so we will take what we got.
The amor was really pretty but we ended up with Vintage pewter. We didn't want the rooms too dark in the winter when darkness is already a problem. Thanks for leaving us a comment.
So glad to see y'all are inside! I bet that was an exciting day! Love your little entertainment setup! Your view is amazing! ❤
Thank you so much!! It was a memorable day for sure!
I can’t wait until you have lots of precious memories. In your beautiful home. It’s all about the precious memories.
More is coming up next week! Our first AWESOME memory in the new house is when Gary's family comes up for a visit. Stay tuned.
I love Amore. Dark colors are able to hide stains until you can get to them. Light colored rugs show everything.
So far the vintage pewter has worked out well and fingers crossed no stains yet.
Beautiful! All those windows are amazing. So much natural light. Been watching from your start to Alaska. Great videos.

Oh I understand. My daughter lives in Fairbanks. The windows are wonderful.
I’m thinking those American eagles can carry off little Sophie. You can buy a vest with long plastic spikes (soft) to stop birds grabbing them.
Yes they could and that is why I am always very close to her at all times when she goes outside.
I love those handwarmers and the toe warmers. I love wearing those things in my gloves and my feet.
Yes they make life easier for sure.
Just found your channel a few days ago and I'm really enjoying it so much.

Yes it was! 🤣 LOL It was a relief to finally get inside the shop after fighting that battle. Thanks for stopping by and saying hi!
Can't wait to see it all come together. It's gonna be so beautiful. 💯
Thank you Tee Tee.
Whoop! I bet you were so excited!
It was a milestone for sure and a day I will never forget! Thanks for watching!

I love that brick for your wall. It looks old time brick love it.
It really turned out nice. Thanks for watching Vicki!
Great decision on moving the wood stove now with furniture placement you can watch the fire and see your beautiful views
YES!!! I didn't want to stare at the wall! The view is MUCH better. 🤣
Great see you moving in with the motor home. Quite envious of

Thank you so much Maryann! Wishing you all the best! 🥰
We are getting a real snow coming down. Before had less than an inch but we are getting 3 whole inches! Maybe...whoop! Lol
Can’t imagine the $$$$ your beautiful is costing . Thanks for sharing
Stay warm Nancy... those are days I just like to stay inside if I can.

I just love watching your videos. You both are so cute together. I’m a big fan.❤
Awwe Thank you Sue!!! 🥰
I like armor!!!!! Darker is better with animals.
Yes... but we chose to go lighter because we didn't want to go any darker due to our dark winters. And regardless we have a husky... theres no hiding her hair anywhere. 🤣
I have three rescue cats so I totally understand. It will be beautiful anyhow....
I hear one verse in my head when you say that of that song😅.
🤣
@@LivingFreeAlaska I love music I'm weird. Happens a lot to me
@@LivingFreeAlaska people just be talking and my brain goes oh yeah this song.😂
👍👍
How deep is your water well? I did not see anything about the drilling if that was done. Could you talk about it.?

Where are you in Montana Amy? BTW.... Go Griz! (I went to U of M from 91-94 as a TV & Radio Major)
I think Smoke.

You remind me of a song when you talk about north to Alaska . I think its by Johnny cash
Yes.... its a good one for sure.
Is it Johnny Horton? My kids love that song! Lol
You have to keep your little dog very close, when outside. She could easily. Be picked up by a 🦅
Very true!
Armor for sure. The darker the better, to hide Alaska mud.
The carpet is only in bedrooms and upstairs in the den. Everything else is the water resistant wood flooring.
You seem well off so You are not having a hard time at all compared to some in Alaska. And I hope You realize You got ripped off by Your Contractor. They all overcharge and even more in Alaska.

Nice video . If you can't spoil your dog who can you spoil.
Exactly!
Your poor dog needs a coat
She has one. We put it on whenever it’s 10° or colder and she’s never outside more than a few minutes.
