- "Shri Krishnaayanu" is a beautiful piece composed by Kaiwara Amara Nareyana. Like the long line of composers who have enriched Carnatic music - Thyagaraja, Shyama Sastri, Muthuswami Dikshitar, Annamacharya, Narayana Tirtha, Bhakta Ramadas, Purandaradasa, etc. Nareyana was also steeped in the bhakti tradition and his lyrics are paeans to God. Many of Varakavi Nareyana's lyrics were extempore compositions. He would burst into delivering songs when stirred by a powerful emotion. Dr Balamurali Krishna and Prince Rama Varma are the only singers who have sung this krithi 'Shri Krishnaayanu' . Our presentation is replete with melody & bhawam...with a magical touch of flute & swara alapana to enhance the beauty of Shankarabaranam Ragam & set to Adi talam
