What made you choose the BMS you did. What supplier did you use? I need a BMS for my outdoor solar light. Its my opinion that these outdoor solar lights typically stop working due to poor BMS control.
Really interesting vid. Obviously a guy that knows what he's doing. It's good for the planet to repair things than add to land fill. I can usually repair certain items. I envisage getting replacement batteries and spares could be a problem if light is a few years old. Soldering must be carried out carefully and not to overheat the batteries or electronics. Also to ensure that sealing the light from the elements is to be really good. It's a pity that the designers use standard rechargeable to avoid soldering. They want us to buy new. I have a floodlight that is 6 years old. I'm gonna have a look and see if I can repair it. Thanks for such an interesting film

without BMS the battery will not last long, the BMS protects the battery from operating outside its safe operating area, for example protect the battery from overcharging and also acts as a failsafe to disconnect the battery from the circuit when the voltage drops outside its range.

If your solar light is still new then, you can set it to auto by the remote. But if its already old and it is working before then most probably the battery are damaged already and need replacement. The flood light in the video has the Same problem, in the morning you can see the red LED light blinking (charging indicator). but does not turn at night. After I replaced the battery everything backs to normal.
With the BMS, It depends with the battery you will use, just check the BMS and battery specification and compare it to the battery and BMS of your solar light.

you can use Sir IF the supply voltage (output from the LED driver) for OPPO LED tube light is same with the Solar LED flood light that you will use. But I already open LED tube light before, its not OPPO but same tube light, and when i check the LED supply voltage if i did not forget its around 30 VDC and the solar led light in my video is only 3.2 volts. Different brand of LED tube light with 220VAC input has different output in the LED driver.

If you install bigger capacity battery, the solar panel maybe could not fully charge the battery in one day. Usually the solar lights are designed to be charge in one day and to be use the next day. But if you just keep the solar light charged and only to be use during emergency only then you can install bigger capacity battery.
@@rodBACON I totally agree sir. I bought 2 300W indoor solar lights. One i used in the garage and have set it to automatic mode (lights up at night and charges up during daytime). I haven't touched its battery pack. While the other one I installed inside the house for the purpose of using it only during brownouts. I upgraded its battery pack to a higher capacity fully knowing that although it will be fully charged by the panel in a day, it will be full eventually..

depende po iyan sa solar light mo. kung gustong mo mabasawan ang liwanag yung iba may option sa remote control. if walang remote control pwedi rin naman bawasan mo ang ilaw na naka connect sa battery, pero kailangan mong buksan ang solar light para makita kung pwedi mo ma disconnect ang ibang ilaw para mabawasan ang liwanag.

Maghanap kalang online na battery na pareho ng voltage at capacity specification sir. 3.2 volts at ang capacity kung wala kang same na makikita pwde rin na mas maliit ng kunti or mas malaki ng kunti. huwag lang yung sobrang laki ng deperensya ng capacity kasi hindi mafullcharge yan ng panel niya. ganun din kapag sobrang liit ng capacity madaling maglowbatt naman.

kapag medyo luma na yung unit mo, mataas ang chance na mahina na ang battery, pero kapag bago pa pero hindi muna pweding i return, buksan mo nalang, minsan kasi meron lang hindi maganda pagkasolda sa loob, may experience kasi akung ganyan, bago pero sandali lang mag lowbat pero noong binuksan ko isang strand lang pala ng wire ang nakakapit sa solda at ng inayos ko na ok naman

most probably sa battery yun, kung luma na ang solar light niyo po baka sira na ang battery at need ng replacement. i open niyo lang ang unit at tingnan ang battery.
Sir kung ano ang output or specs ng original na battery ng flood light mo yun lang dapat ang i supply mo. Masira yung ilaw lalo na mas mataas ang i supply mo na voltage kesa sa design niya.

Kung palitan mo sir baka hindi rin kayang i full charge ng solar panel nya ang mataas na battery capacity kasi baka limited lang sya doon sa original design. so need dyan tingnan ang capacity ng panel para ma judge natin kung kayang i upscale ang battery.

2. Or can i use 1 3.7v battery with bigger MaH? Do i still need put BMS for single battery?
If you install bigger capacity battery, the solar panel maybe could not fully charge the battery in one day. Usually the solar lights are designed to be charge in one day and to be use the next day. But if you just keep the solar light charged and only to be use during emergency only then you can install bigger capacity battery.

@@rodBACON I totally agree sir. I bought 2 300W indoor solar lights. One i used in the garage and have set it to automatic mode (lights up at night and charges up during daytime). I haven't touched its battery pack. While the other one I installed inside the house for the purpose of using it only during brownouts. I upgraded its battery pack to a higher capacity fully knowing that although it will be fully charged by the panel in a day, it will be full eventually..

depende po iyan sa solar light mo. kung gustong mo mabasawan ang liwanag yung iba may option sa remote control. if walang remote control pwedi rin naman bawasan mo ang ilaw na naka connect sa battery, pero kailangan mong buksan ang solar light para makita kung pwedi mo ma disconnect ang ibang ilaw para mabawasan ang liwanag.

Sir buksan mo ang unit mo, tingnan mo ang specs ng battery at hanapin mo lang online lazada or shopee, pero incase bago pa yang unit mo baka may loose connection niyan buksan mo icheck ko, kasi naka experience na ako ng ganyan bago pero madaling malowbat yun pala hindi lang maganda ang pag ka solda.

Maghanap kalang online na battery na pareho ng voltage at capacity specification sir. 3.2 volts at ang capacity kung wala kang same na makikita pwde rin na mas maliit ng kunti or mas malaki ng kunti. huwag lang yung sobrang laki ng deperensya ng capacity kasi hindi mafullcharge yan ng panel niya. ganun din kapag sobrang liit ng capacity madaling maglowbatt naman.

Hello Sir, ask kulang po kung ano pong nagiging cause bakit po nasisira or kinakalawang ang battery ng solar light kahit ito ay IP65 or IP67. Dahil po ba ito sa moist oh di kaya may life time period lang po talaga ang mga battery nito?

Sir kung ano ang output or specs ng original na battery ng flood light mo yun lang dapat ang i supply mo. Masira yung ilaw lalo na mas mataas ang i supply mo na voltage kesa sa design niya.
