  • #53. Its a good day to hit the trails. I need to do some clean up and check things out. luckily there was only one tree down across the trail. The Can Am made quick work of that job. I also wanted to check out a new location to dry firewood on top of the hill. It needs to be cleared but could be a pretty good location to store firewood this fall and winter.

Thanks for showing your trail, very cool, wooded area with rolling hills. I bet it looks great in the spring summer when those trees fill in.

I'd say that hilltop would be fine for drying...course my head is spinning a little after that tumble we took...😂😂😂

Like that saw !! That area would be fine for wood storage……just run the firewood in rows parallel to the prevailing wind and insure it’s up off the ground. Spacing might be wise for it flow if very little sun. IMHO I like the Little Man’s Saw too 💪😁🇺🇸 Rick

That’s what I’m thinking also. Will definitely need single rows with the lack of sun. Haha I didn’t realize he was trying to cut the tree until I did my editing.

Very nice piece of land! I agree, wind drying is best. Nice spot for a wood yard.

I stumbled across your channel and I’ve been watching some of your videos, this video in particular at the 10 minute 45 second mark you pulled the winch cable out and we’re trying to winch that branch down and then you ended up pulling with your machine. This is not meant to sound Mean or anything but if you continue to do that you’re going to inflect great damage to your winch and if it’s a Warn brand that’s $500-$800 to replace which will cut into your firewood profit. I would make the suggestion of buying one of those kinetic ropes rated for UTV , and that will be much handier in the woods, then, using the winch as a pulling mechanism instead of as a winching mechanism. Just trying to save you some money in the long run. So far I’ve enjoyed all your videos. The few I have watched. Keep up the good work.

Love the suggestion. I am not of fan of cable winches. They jam easily and don’t wind up well. That’s just my experience using them over the years. I will upgrade to the rope at some point. That was a small tree and it was hung up pretty well. I wanted to keep a good eye on it coming down so nothing landed on me. Thanks for watching and commenting. We have lots of good projects coming up this summer.

Nice track of land. How many acres? Yes wind dries out better than sun. Enjoy your videos.

Thanks! 7 acres but as you saw most of it is tough to get to.
