Talking to the French coming out of WWII it didn’t sound like the Germans were great “colonialists” (though the French women would have pretty much resolved that within a full generation or two) and I don’t find ANY Eastern Europeans who lived Mother Soviet (unless they were in the government)
Having travelled to Europe dozens of times, I don’t really get the feeling of a British Colonial Master visiting India during the Raj or Chine after the Opium wars... more like a “tourist” looking to be fleeced at every turn. Some “colonial supremacy”
