The war in Ukraine has showcased that modern wars against near-peer rivals are *way* more exhaustive in terms of ammunition than predicted, to the point that presumably no country, not even the US, could actually lead such a war at full efficiency for longer than maybe a few months (aka, before having to ration ammunition spent on shelling).

Alliances like EU and NATO allow its members to maintain military deterrence and with it their sovereignty at a bargain as not everyone on their own but only the whole needs to be strong enough to be able to defend against any eventualities. Nobody would have dared to invade Ukraine if they had already been a member, too.

NATO should not be afraid of pushing Russia out of the Ukraine. So long as we don’t cross into Russia there is absolutely no risk of nuclear war. As a veteran who has worked with NATO forces, I am very confident NATO can effectively deal with any threat to the alliance. Their skill and technology are unmatched. Their courage and resolve are unshakable.

The footage shown makes me think they didn't simulate OPFOR yet, but that's a crucial component to any good military exercise. It's not as easy to get good footage during OPFOR events, but it's the most critical component towards these exercises being a success. Train hard guys and gals!
It's Korzeniewo. Gniew is on the opposite side of the Vistula river, a few km from the place where the exercise took place.

They need to practice close quarter combat scenarios. Ukraine and Russia are engaging in Trench warfare right now, they need to practice how to overcome these scenarios as well as combatting tech warfare in the field

actually amazing to see germans and polish people working together. let the past be the past. we cant change it. what matters is that they are working together and united now. none of the current people had anything to do with what happened back then. being united is key as going forward for the common good. 😀
All of 166 tanks, all that could be scrapped together. Reforger 88 had 1100 MBTs. This exercise is one of the smallest in modern history.
Exercise is a sample of equipment not a whole arsenal.

Obviously the cold war had much larger scales and budgets involved, but this is NATO's largest exercise since the cold war. It's 90,000 troops and 3,500 vehicles planned to be used in the exercise. Largely simulating the initial European rapid deployment against a [hypothetical enemy] on the east of NATO's borders. Since NATO has a large amount of road infrastructure, wheeled vehicles are most relevant in a rapid response context.
training and preparation is always good when another country waging war but I can’t really take much of their numbers into consideration of how fast it can transport these equipment through river Crossing when not under live fire but that’s just my personal opinion.

They're not crossing a river, they're sending thousands of troops, weapons, tanks, etc across a river, all without using bridges.... That is an amazing engineering feat!
the exercise is actually split in two parts, the first one moving US soldiers to europe and securing the north atlantic up to the arctic
the second part is to move troops from west to eastern europe all along the Nato front. so not just only in poland but in finland, the baltic states and so on

River crossing like these won’t matter if it’s within range of the front line fire but then again it all depends on conditions and luck during war unless you have overwhelming ability to make the crossing 99% safe

Served in SHAPE for 4 yrs- I know the quality of NATO first hand- never served with a Pole- at the time they were part of the Warsaw Communist Pact - but I hear that the Poles are very professional
