Not really, it's like shes counting a polyrhythm occasionally, I do that all the time and I'm a guitarrist. It's just about how you interpret the flow and pocket you specifically perform in.

This fucks my brain up even more, let alone playing an instrument at the same time.

having IEMs really allows each and every player to listen to not just what their playing, but what the rest of the band is playing as well. it really helps with the dynamics of the band. I really do enjoy using in ears. Great vid man

Noooo you’d never be able to hear what you’re playing or singing over the crowd. It’s drowns out the noice of the crowd and other sounds depending on your position in the band and if you play an instrument or sing.

You get used to it. Problem is the sounds on stage is totally rubbish and different to what you hear at the front. Especially with large stages and audiences it is near impossible to stay in sync with the rest of the band without. At the end of the day you are not there to enjoy the music yourself. You are there to perform a task (work).

I mean.... the drummer obviously knows the parts. having in-ear mixes like this just makes sure, that the whole thing doesn't derail, if a single person misremembers and goes somewhere else musically.

    • @chadrackard3700

I’ve been playing for 37yrs. This is the best way for monitors now. You control your own mix! Therefore you don’t have to go deaf because someone doesn’t know how to run sound.
