My favorite EVER is for sure without a doubt, Escaflowne. If you haven't heard it, dude. DUDE. 😂😳 It will change your life. listen to the entire album OST start to finish. put everything away for this experience. Maybe even watch the movie first to truly understand what is driving this music. trust me, it's strange sometimes how it goes from track to track, (the album is quite long, but worth every second) because some of the tracks are a bit quirky, and even those grow on you!😂 it's all just so meticulously written, composed, played, mixed, mastered, crafted really. but just realize it's part of the musical progression from the absolutely insanely epic film Escaflowne of course, which is animated. And each piece fits a specific context in the movie. They do play with the quirky anime theme a little but don't let that fool you, you get suddenly slammed with intense, in your face energy that brings you on a journey from basics, to nirvana. telling you, some of THE most epic Original music, ever. period. Many extremely talented people created all the music, with the goal of creating over the top dramatic sequences. seriously listen to it! thank me later. lol 😂💯💙 And the film is meant for more adult audience overall with a very well written story and crazy artwork
I'm a biiiiiiig fan of the old tintin animated series with the cello doing Pam Pam Pam. We often sing it with my wife where I do the lower section and she sing the melody 😅
Excellent real-life composing for film process. We lost fantastic voice of Christian Henson, would be fantastic to have Chad drop some high quality videos from time to time. Or maybe regularly if his schedule allows it? Thank you for this one!
Thank you for the insight (even the stressors). I really like how open you are about the process. Also sharing some of the plugins you've used to get those awesome sounds. Thanks Chad!
Great TH-cam breakdown of your opening sequence Chad.. Pretty funny shit. We’ve all been there, done that way too many times. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve tried to explain to someone about the hoops we need to jump through trying to figure out what 'more greener' means when it comes out of a producer or directors mouth . A lot of guys fail to realize that their job is to do everything possible to improve the film, no matter how misdirected or confusing the comments are. ...and it can be a win-win situation for all with a lot of deep breathing and a little holding of the tongue
I'm no pro, but I could hear it progressively tightening up. For such a short intro, that's incredibly well done. It's like a short version of some of the Spitfire videos on cueing and directors coming back for retakes!
Only fools and Horses theme tune Warren, everyone thought it was Rodney singing, it was actually the Scriptwriter, who also, if I remember correctly may have scored the music. The opening credits of Only fools and horses goes down well at parties. But...dont you think the end credits it very Ian Dury? For film...yeeeeesh. So many. I went through a period in the 90's of liking James Horners scores who did Braveheart and Titanic...I was going through a celtic music phase at the time haha! And what about Seth MacFarlane from Family guy...pretty good singer...and composer. If you recall the time Stewie sang Everthing I do...I believe that was Seth doing the vocals...anyway...so much good stuff!
So cool and fascinating to see the thought and creative process at work here. I love sausage and how its made! Any tips on where to find video material/clips on which to practice this craft?
Someone needs to make a “Cool Sauce” plugin to take all the hard work out of writing, arranging and performing, let alone all the hours of engineering and mixing.
This video is incredible! Does Chad have any other content on TH-cam? I can’t find any if so. As a beginning media composer, I’m starving for content like this.
Hi Blake, thanks for the kind words. I don’t have any more instructional videos (yet, working on some) but I do have a bunch of fun music videos I directed for my band, Lazlo Bane, which you can check out here: 😃👍🏻 youtube.com/@chadfischermusic6156
@@Producelikeapro Oh yeah, music production service is completely different from "making your own music". The bigger the company, the more people are involved, the higher the number after the V gets... My personal record is V22 for a 15sec chocolate bar commercial.
@@iammusicp Yowsa! V22!! I had an album once mixed by a 'major' Mixer and we were on Mix 17 before we were 'happy'. However, it was a huge hit! So it was worth it.
@@Producelikeapro Wow, congrats! 17 mixes is a lottttt! Even though I got paid for the 22 edits, the music didn't end up making it to the commercial. I think the ad agency could sense my reluctance and after V10 you could hear it. Lol Nowadays, I'm more professional and aware of what I'm getting myself into, which makes the job easier.
What are some of your favourite TV or Film Original Soundtracks?
The guitar part on the Green Acres theme still catches my ear from time to time.
