+RoyalPanda Thats always the way, theres always been the joke that kids animation took itself more seriously than adult animation. Batman The Animated Series, Samurai Jack, Adventure Time, Steven Universe, and Star Wars Clone Wars and Rebels all have way more depth to their plots and characters, and tackle a lot of mature issues and themes. While even managing to be thought provoking at times, and meanwhile adult shows like Family Guy and Simpsons are busy making dick jokes and using toilet humor.
The small speaking line from the kid Stone Cold had me laughing up a storm. I expected it bc it's Stone Cold but the way he randomly cut off Big Show had me in tears. And the way his face was drawn; so funny.
I personally hated brickle berry for the most part though sure it had its moments but it tried way to hard to be modern family guy with all shock and little comedy
+AJA Ryan1994 I see Brickleberry in this show but I really do not really see Gravity Falls in this. I think this show has a couple things that make me laugh, but just like Family Guy the humor is just trying to be shocking and "adult" Gravity Falls has a lot more intelligence IMO
+TheKatanarama Most cartoons have the Cal Arts style (Camp WWE, Gumball, Wreck It Ralph, Steven Universe, Clarence, Gravity Falls, We Bare Bares all have a similar art style. Besides Rick and Morty, Legend of Korra, and Archer most of the shows have a similar art style), I do not know how that means Gravity Falls and Camp WWE are similar.
+The Drunken Coward I'm not saying Wrestling needs cursing and sexual jokes, but I think what Wrestling needs is realism in speech. And one of the things that just comes naturally is cursing. So... I guess... I like cursing. Mini rant over. Fuck.
[(Spoiler)] I liked the part where triple h told all the kids that their parents are dead & the undertaker was like the only one who was happy about it xD
The lines recorded by Vince and Flair were recorded in different studios, where the lines for all the kid characters where recorded in the same studio where the cartoon was animated. There was a video on WWE's TH-cam page showing that about "Camp WWE"
One joke I think would be funny is if a character visit Triple H's house only to find out that he has a graveyard in the back garden and the tombstone all read the careers of some of the other superstars he's beaten.
I have to agree with most of what you said, Brian. The jokes weren't all funny, but there were good ones! My favorite part was definitely Sgt. Slaughter hidden in the roof and the fact that 'Stars and Stripes Forever' played forward and backward whenever he went in and out respectively. And Vince is a great character for sure!
Hey Brian, great video as usual~ I've been wondering for a while (and sorry if you've ever explained it) But is there any particular reason why your logo a spray bottle?
It's clear that Green or whoever wrote the script didn't have better material than prolonged gags like Flair whining or Slaughter drinking a milkshake.
+Siwy14 I thought about the Million Dollar Give Away finale when the truss fell on Vince and he started screaming, "Paul, I can't feel my legs!" A lot of good wrestling/WWE inside humor and jokes made the show for me.
I liked Triple H's voice. Usually ending his sentences in a long breath I mean: What do you wantuuuuh. Exactly like his promos when he's pissed off lol
My girlfriend and I loved the show! I just hope they add more characters or even pay tribute to Owen Hart and Chyna. Or even put a little of The Undertaker's storyline into the show. Like if they have a siblings day and Kane is dead from the fire; or hell even have someone sound like Paul Bearer talk to Undertaker
I don't know how i came upon your show, but WOW Dude your awesome and i am glad i happened upon your show. After watching wrestling for over 30 years,i found the shows and your take on things that many of me and my friends that watch wrestling laugh at or argue about all the time.I got agree with almost every show of yours, especially about the attitude era as am sick to death of everybody who keeps bringing it up at every turn,i personally think that today's era is better for a number of reasons.Personally you will think that i am drinking or on drugs but to me the attitude era to me has not ended yet. Here's why,RAW is pretty much the same the opening song may have changed but it's still the same thing, the pyro may be shot off in a different pattern but that's still the same, the whole theme of using the color red,i know the ropes are white but basically everything else is red,the same titan tron for the last almost 20 years, the WWE logo it self witch now looks awful has been the same .I know eveything is PG now but to me this is still the same era in a lot ways because of those reasons. And once again i am not on drugs although maybe i should be...lol but i just wanted to drop a line to you i just found your show this past tuesday and almost pissed myself watching a couple of your shows...Your doing a most excellent job my friend you should have a show on the WWE Network...PS. That wrestling match you showed from 10 years ago was not the worst match i have ever seen, that honor or dishonor must go to Hollywood Hulk Hogan Vs. The Ultimate Warrior at WCW Halloween Havoc now that was the worst FUCKING match ever.......Keep up the great work. You are awesome and look forward to your future shows...Thank You Very Very Much.....James Edward Galla signing off....................
Big Show as a kid was the real star of the show in my book. He needs more lines. Camp WWE was actually pretty good. I don't mind watching it over and over again. ;D
My hypothesis for why the audio/action is so choppy has to do with the *long* delay in getting this to market. It was announced in early 2013, before WWE *fired Punk on his wedding day*. Hogan got cut out after his mess went down. Also, if any older wrestlers were intended to be in it, but died between now and then, they would have required removal as well (but they left Warrior in?). Long story behind this wall of text? I wish I was in that editing room to see what got cut, and I wish some of it would leak. Now Ric Flair will go hump a bear. o_0
+Raz Mere Right, the attitude era kids should all have been older than the new guys, it didn't really work lumping everyone together as the same age. But then again, HHH and Stephanie weren't supposed to be kids, they're camp counselors so I guess they'd be 18 or so and not campers.
You know, I didn't dig it that much the first time I watched it; but, I gave it a second chance and thought it was pretty funny. I may have just had to high an expectation the first time, I don't know. The second time was quite funny though. Thank you for taking the time to make this video, you do good work sir.
I think of 2 reasons they let it be an "Adult" show. 1)Its on their "network" that has parental controls and 2) because its from Seth Green. So with the history between Seth and the WWE they probably let him run with it.
flair and slaughter aren't cameos they're main characters you can tell who's a main character by the opening credits it's the campers without speaking roles who were cameos
watching this a lot of the things they said and he'll even the title of the first episode and it's premise could be seen as a metaphor for WWE. Cena being homesick but VKM not letting him go home could be like a superstar being sick of the travel but not being allowed to go home by the boss or they'd get fired is just one the many examples of that it's crazy how deep some of the metaphors are. (or I could just be looking to deep into it who knows (
I fuckin love camp wwe. They need more mature content on the network. And the fact that Vince not only signed off on this type of shit but voices over in it is just awesome.
I think it be interesting to explore wrestler relationships. Ie the shield members meeting at camp or stuff with The Bellas. Or even Steve Austin vs Vince
You could compare it to other Matthew Senreich and Seth Green work...it was basically a full length, focused Robot Chicken episode with clean animation instead of stop motion.
Hey BZ! great video as usual. was waiting for this one. u reckon you might want to take a gander and a review of the Rumble Roses wrestling games? it might be worth ur while!
I've already heard that Jake The Snake will be making an appearance and HHH will be voicing the HHH character's dad. His name: Quadruple H, but his friend call him "Quad" (gotta love the smarky meta humor in that)
Interesting you bring up Family Guy, and I would bring up Robot Chicken, because Seth Green is attached to both. The pacing issues made sense to me from a "well, his comedy is usually in a sketch format" direction. But I felt the humour had a lot of that affection and attention to detail that makes Robot Chicken great. (The Let's Go Cena, Cena Sucks! Graffiti in the opening, for instance was a good laugh) What I thought was lacking was a density of humour. Part of the Robot Chicken formula that makes that show work is the constant barrage of irreverence. There's a sense of sheer creativity where some of the jokes will stick, some won't, but you're in for a ride either way. That's where I'd like to see Camp WWE go, because you're right, it's not quite hit it's stride yet.
I really liked Camp WWE. The show feels very much like Family Guy. I enjoyed the show very much. I love the Vince McMahon character and the Ric Flair stuff is great too. I also noticed that they used the F word twice which is pretty interesting and funny.
Pilot of any show just throws a bunch of concepts out there and the feedback gives them an idea of how to proceed. So hopefully we will get a stronger focus on Vince, Steph and HHH..
An incredible refresher from all the PG programming, certainly. I thought it was hilarious, loved the style and the animation of it, and the characters had me dying of laughter
Just saw this episode today ,i really liked the animation and the design of the characters ,the jokes were not very strong...though i laughed out loud when Vince said "i have to protect john cena"
I think it's great. It's a very solid comedy based around the personalities we know. Seth Green being involved is all you need to know. Robot Chicken is IMO is one of the best animated shows out there. Just like Robot Chicken...you can tell there's passion behind the work.
I liked it. The animation is good & I got a couple good laughs, and at the end of the day that's the point. It's a cartoon, it's not meant to be analyzed forward & back like an Oscar movie it's just meant to be watched & have a good time with. Me personally, I had and okay time with it. Only bad thing for me we're hearing Flair's voice chopped up but it didn't take away from the experience for me at all.
Good Video. I show the trailer on Camp WWE and it looks worth watching. I thought this was going to be on demand but they never air it. but anyway like the review.
I agree Vince was the star, but my main complaint about the show is the pacing. A lot of the lines feel way to rushed! Especially Vince. There were a lot of times where things should of been funny, at least to me, but the delivery wasn't there, way to rushed, but I agree it has promise and I'll watch a few more episodes before deciding if I wanna keep up with it.
I enjoyed it. I love that Family Guy type of humour so that helped. Kid Austin was the best for me. Can't wait to see what they do with in future episodes.
Looks and reminds me of brickleberry and if you cant tell I love brickleberry so I wish I could chick this out but alas im to poor to afford the wwe network
The show has a lot of potential here are some things I would like to see: World building More characters A linear plot for the whole season Some sub plots No fart jokes Lampoon pop culture references Make fun of the superstars (them in real life)
HHH: Your parents are dead.
Kids: (sadly) they are?
Stephanie: (Angrily) they are?
Kid Undertaker: (Happily) they are?
+jayson ware That part was my favorite of the entire episode (aside from Vince of course)
That Undertaker reaction and doing the funerals was hilarious!
+Leisten Entertainment Ric Flair was hilarious as well
guess that plays before Kanes incident :D
+Leisten Entertainment "I just found out Big Show's dad was Jewish, and you do not want to know how long that part is."
WWE are trying to produce wrestling shows for kids (or be kid friendly at least) and cartoons for adults. Something about that I find amusing.
+RoyalPanda And yet the cartoon has very childish humour that most adults would cringe at.
But wrestling is always going to be more appealing to kids anyway, without them making it kid friendly...
+The Fearmoths i liked it
+RoyalPanda Thats always the way, theres always been the joke that kids animation took itself more seriously than adult animation. Batman The Animated Series, Samurai Jack, Adventure Time, Steven Universe, and Star Wars Clone Wars and Rebels all have way more depth to their plots and characters, and tackle a lot of mature issues and themes. +David Maglioli toilet humor made Family guy and South Park household names
Imagine The Iron Sheik having his own character and get to do his own voice too in this cartoon? Would be so awesome and funny XD
DUDE id buy the network sub just to see Sheiky Baby go HAM on them
FAKING BUUSHIT
+marcelo234100 FACKIN BOOOOOOLSHETT
FACK THE VINCE MCMAHON
+Super Mastodon Sgt. Slaughter IS Iron Sheik.
We all knew Ric Flair was a furry, anyway
NosferatuTodd woo woo woo woo woo woooookoo
it kinda reminded me of an early 2000's web cartoon, but in a good way. it knows what it is and isn't afraid to go all the way, for better or worse.
They put the edgy content in the cartoon while the PG stuff are in the main wrestling product. If that isn't irony I don't know what it is.
well atleast we know who Charlottes mother is
MAN , I'VE NEVER SEEN THIS LEVEL OF SAVAGE BEFORE MEAN GENE!!!!!
Mikey Reedy that explains so much
I thought Camp WWE was amazing. Especially Vince's attitude towards Triple H lol Undertaker was funny too.
you know what they say about death...that's death xD
lol
+Michael Marriott I love Sgt. Slaughter was so funny
Oh yeah Poor Sgt. Slaughter lol
*taps the light bulb*
Is this light on? lol
A bra? I can't wear this...probably.
TheY2AProblem you won't know until you try Vince 😂
i wish there was an uncensored version of Edge and Christian show
yes edge and Christian show is the prime example of genuine wrestling humor.
The small speaking line from the kid Stone Cold had me laughing up a storm. I expected it bc it's Stone Cold but the way he randomly cut off Big Show had me in tears. And the way his face was drawn; so funny.
Animation reminds me of Brickleberry and Gravity Falls.
+AJA Ryan1994 I did get a Gravity Falls vibe from it.
+AJA Ryan1994 oh yes Brickleberry that show is hilarious
I personally hated brickle berry for the most part though sure it had its moments but it tried way to hard to be modern family guy with all shock and little comedy
+AJA Ryan1994 I see Brickleberry in this show but I really do not really see Gravity Falls in this. I think this show has a couple things that make me laugh, but just like Family Guy the humor is just trying to be shocking and "adult"

R-Truth was my hands down favorite.
+Christopher Cepeda NOT BUYIN' THIS SHIT!
+Wrestling With Wregret Goddamn, Zane, I guess he really ISN'T buying this shit.
+Wrestling With Wregret NOT BUYIN' THIS SHIT!
anadryantontine Lol, gotta love when the "Enter" key doesn't take the first few times!
That don' make no damn sense😂
I found the first episode of Camp WWE to be pretty good
Wait, so they have a cartoon show that has adult jokes but their actual main show is laughably clean and cute?
+The Drunken Coward
I'm not saying Wrestling needs cursing and sexual jokes, but I think what Wrestling needs is realism in speech. And one of the things that just comes naturally is cursing. So... I guess... I like cursing.
Mini rant over. Fuck.
+The Drunken Coward I know! Talk about getting their priorities wrong.
They can have that kind of stuff in their network
"My legs have betrayed me. They'll pay for this."
Lol and the way he was sitting up, all I thought of was when he tore his quads at the 05 Royal Rumble
+Juan Ramirez True dat, probably because of Seth Green
[(Spoiler)]
I liked the part where triple h told all the kids that their parents are dead & the undertaker was like the only one who was happy about it xD
+Christopher Medina Yeah then he was all sad that none of the parents died lol.
Yeah I love the way that basically have over the top parodies of various wrestlers
Christopher Medina what if they make the undertaker eat a cucumber?
Seth Green & Matthew Seinrich are executive producers, sooooo....that's why it's good.
Was that the boat from Thunder in Paradise making a cameo at about 1:05???
+Andrew Mills The smark in-jokes are so great.
The lines recorded by Vince and Flair were recorded in different studios, where the lines for all the kid characters where recorded in the same studio where the cartoon was animated. There was a video on WWE's TH-cam page showing that about

L not funny
Steve Wright
What's not funny about it?
The closest thing to non-PG era WWE will get to.
Well modern era at least
+Jason Middleton
there is also ECW, and earlier WWE stuff on the Network
*****
yeah :/
I have to agree with most of what you said, Brian. The jokes weren't all funny, but there were good ones! My favorite part was definitely Sgt. +MasterFhyl Check out my Q&A video from a few weeks ago for the answer to that question! :)
+Wrestling With Wregret I have a suggestion for you could you do a top 8 Worst Wrestlers Titantrons/Entrence videos
+Wrestling With Wregret Could you do a wrestling with wregret of scott steiner WWE run
+MasterFhyl He explained it in his Q and A video
+Wrestling With Wregret must have missed that- will check it out
2:16 LMFAO, Stephanie really has grown up, She's bigger than The Undertaker
It's clear that Green or whoever wrote the script didn't have better material than prolonged gags like Flair whining or Slaughter drinking a milkshake.
It has a lot of potencial. Btw. Am I the only one who thought about Royal Rumble 2005 when Vince hurt his legs in the forest?
+Siwy14 I caught that too
I think thier where small hints at stuff in history or wwe ect that went over some people's head but yes
The funniest part for me was Vince apparent disdain for Triple HHH. The bit with the bag of frozen chestnuts really made me laugh.
+Galaxian EX TRIPLE TRIPLE H?
Kevin Wedderburn THE IRONY!!
So Zombie Benoit is "NUT HUGGING his boyfriend and to himself!😂😂😂😄😄😄😄😄😅😅😆😆
Kevin Wedderburn DAFUCK?
My girlfriend and I loved the show! I just hope they add more characters or even pay tribute to Owen Hart and Chyna. Or even put a little of The Undertaker's storyline into the show. Semenaide
Paul Bearer being Undertakers counselor cause Undertaker killed Kane (maybe)
Big Show as a kid was the real star of the show in my book. He needs more lines.
Camp WWE was actually pretty good. I don't mind watching it over and over again. ;D
+Lucas Hackett (One Angry Brony) That big dumb voice, and that line about having to use a sock as underwear. Brilliant.
My hypothesis for why the audio/action is so choppy has to do with the *long* delay in getting this to market. It was announced in early 2013, before WWE *fired Punk on his wedding day*. Around the same time, the Scooby-Doo Wrestlemania and Flinstones/WWE toons were announced, and both faced long delays before release. The Scooby one came out with Sin Cara in place of Punk, but the Flintstones one came out with Punk, albeit 2 years late. So maybe, they had to edit out any mentions of CM Punk. Now Ric Flair will go hump a bear. o_0
it didn't even air in Canada!
cartoon flair not as cartoony as he is in real life.
+John Cook He definitely sounded sloshed as fuck.
"...given the green light..."
*CUZ IM READY TO GO O O O O O*
So Camp WWE is sorta like Camp Lazlo, but with wrestling?
Also, the idea of a WWE theme super hero show would be very interesting to see.
Glad to know I'm not the only one who thought of Camp Lazlo while watching this, a more adult version lol :D
are you going to review more episodes
people are so disinterested in PG that they will accept crap like this out of spite for PG
Hey Brian is you're spray bottle gimmick based on Rick 'The Model' Martel's 'Arrogance' by any chance? I've just always wondered thats all.
+daniel sarn i am not brian but if you watch the 100,000 subscriber q&a video he explains the spray bottle there
I dug the pilot but I gotta ask, why is Undertaker a kid as well? Shouldn't he be around HHH and Stephanie's age in the show?
+Raz Mere Same with Stone Cold.
Exactly, I wouldn't mind them being kids but should the older wrestlers be in older kid cabins or something?
+Raz Mere Right, the attitude era kids should all have been older than the new guys, it didn't really work lumping everyone together as the same age. But then again, HHH and Stephanie weren't supposed to be kids, they're camp counselors so I guess they'd be 18 or so and not campers.
Undertaker could've been that creepy janitor or sum like his catch phrase could've been rest in mr clean
+Don Rhemy Have you ever thought about becoming a comedian....
Adult-oriented infant humour, just what the world needs more of!
I laughed so much at flair elbowing the pillows
+SoldierGaming Winn Gotta fluff 'em the Nature Boy way! WOO!
Is it new episode every Sunday or what?
I hope Brian Zane reviews all the episodes
You know, I didn't dig it that much the first time I watched it; but, I gave it a second chance and thought it was pretty funny. I may have just had to high an expectation the first time, I don't know. The second time was quite funny though. Thank you for taking the time to make this video, you do good work sir.
Wish they chose a better voice actor for stone cold.
Like Will Sasso, he does a damnec good Rattlesnake😊
+munstrumridcully Dude they should get Paul Hayman, have you heard his impression of Austin.
+Miketastic
Why didnt they just get Austin himself, I wonder?
I think of 2 reasons they let it be an "Adult" show. 1)Its on their "network" that has parental controls and 2) because its from Seth Green. So with the history between Seth and the WWE they probably let him run with it.
Is this still on? How many episodes was it?
"Woo Woo Woo Woo Woo Woo Woooooooooooooooo!" Ric was hilarious.
flair and slaughter aren't cameos they're main characters you can tell who's a main character by the opening credits it's the campers without speaking roles who were cameos
I might actually check this out because of your review. I actually respect your opinion Brian.
So the cartoon for adults and the actual real live event for the family?
+MrAnthrax yes
irony
+Alekhya Das oh the spectacular irony
Big pop for the One Man Gangnam Style I made for BSW many moons ago!
+Jesse Long One of my favorite shirts!
Just watched it with my band mates and I described it as Family Guy style humor. love the show, funny af
watching this a lot of the things they said and he'll even the title of the first episode and it's premise could be seen as a metaphor for WWE.

I got the same feeling watching the show.
"I'm Brian Zane and I'll see ya next time." You don't know my schedule Mr. Zane
Question if Camp WWE does well, (maybe) do you think WWE its self will go tv 14, probably a stupid question but just a thought
Yeah you're getting ahead of yourself
+Burning Fist yeah I figured as much
This show has gotten a lot better/funnier the last couple of episodes
Is it worth checking out?
I wish we could have Lou Albano here. I grew up with him playing/voicing Mario, would be great if he could have been a part of this.
Can you look at the Slam City cartoon?
That show was oddly funny. It somehow managed to be funny despite the premise.
"Tell no-one, Ice Cream Man."
My friend loves that, and he's not that big of a wrestling fan.
You made me wanna watch the program.
Considering the show is produced by Seth Green (Chris Griffin) the similarities to Family Guy isn't a surprise
This show feels like a cross between South Park, Total Drama Island, and WWE. Pretty good so far, hope it stays that way.
You could compare it to other Matthew Senreich and Seth Green work...it was basically a full length, focused Robot Chicken episode with clean animation instead of stop motion.

I really liked Camp WWE. The show feels very much like Family Guy. I enjoyed the show very much. I love the Vince McMahon character and the Ric Flair stuff is great too. I also noticed that they used the F word twice which is pretty interesting and funny.
Kinda reminded me of a mick foley book
Bi know the part of blood and sweat socks I laughed at the dick jokes
do an episode about lucha underground
Make a video on Shelton Benjamins run in the WWE
I really liked the first episode! Can't wait for more!

Ric Flair was the best thing about this episode, Woo, Woo, Woo, Woooooo
"Given the greenlight."
If only we knew back then...
...for some reason I imagined DDP as a potential camp counselor/fitness instructor character. Since, y'know, DDPYoga. I dunno.
You should do a review of the 80s cartoon Hulk Hogan's Rock N' Wrestling
Pretty much through the whole episode I was all WOOOOOO
I keep thinking of the cartoon Total Drama Island.
I liked how everything HHH said ended with "uh"
me too!
I liked it. The animation is good & I got a couple good laughs, and at the end of the day that's the point. I hope this show will go on for multiple seasons and WWE won't drop the ball like they have for a bunch of their Network shows
This might be called knit-picking but I don't like why Stone Cold Steve Austin is a toddler and the same age as Cena but HHH is a teenager.
Because triple H is a camp counselor, I know this comment is old, but still. Cmon.
+Cattywampus You can find the show on viveo and other 3rd parties. it's really not hard at all.
Great! "Adult edge" on a Network cartoon and a TV-PG flagship show and in ring product! Hooray!
The show has a lot of potential here are some things I would like to see:
World building
More characters
A linear plot for the whole season
Some sub plots
No fart jokes
Lampoon pop culture references
Make fun of the superstars (them in real life)
I would lo e to see a mash up Hogan's Rock N Wrestling and Camp WWE episode. Heck, it could even be a movie!
