Great review! From the outside, the acura looks nicer than the pilot. The extra room in the 3rd row seat is a deal breaker and i'd choose the pilot. If the acura had the same room as the pilot in 3rd row and if there was a non-turbo in both of them, they'd be the perfect cars. Maybe one day. The turbos dont last as long as the naturally aspirated engines-and that's been confirmed by mechanics with lots of yrs. Of experience. 😀
Mdx is bang for your buck and road noise isolation and seats , the ride qulaity and suspension in mdx as has double wishbone ..pilots just mcpeherson struts AND Cheap .. engine choice for mdx i prefer the type S ..
I haven't seen too many Pilots on the road. I see A LOT of MDX's. It's been on sale for a few extra years, compared to the Pilot, but it seems like So. Cal agrees with you. No arguments from me.
Acura MDX if you lean towards "Sport" in SUV. Honda if you lean towards "Utility" in SUV. The Acura MDX suspension, steering, and sh-awd tuning is more sporty. You might be disappointed it you purchase a MDX and your driving is on the Pilot or Odyssey mini van level.
Just a note on our MDX.....yes, beautiful body and nice interior but lousy seat comfort.Your behind will start protesting about 60 minutes into a drive.

On SUVs of this size the V6 is an advantage for both of these cars over competitors’ turbo 4 cylinder engines

Maybe a point s/b given to the Pilot for regular gas vs. premium gas for the MDX...
Have only used regular in our MDX since we got it in July of 2024. No issues.
@@donkennedy7682what fuel mileage do you get with regular?
I think honestly Honda needs to do something about third window. Overall it’s great suv for a family.

Outrageous both prices...
As some who reviewed both the cars recently Acura stands out in its drive quality with out a doubt. You will feel the premium interior in Acura

No comfort issues for us with our MDX and have taken trips from 6-7 hours 6 times. We're 62 and 53 Have had it since July 2024.
Pilots are expensive, might as well spend the extra 10-15k for the MDX.
Mdx is a fantastic car, most pilots are buried
My wife drives a silver 2008 with 228,000. We see tons of that generation Pilots still on the road.
Kind of a dumb comparison. Acura is supposed to be the luxury brand of Honda. It should have higher end amenities.
None due to VCM
Honda has had VCM for years. It’s seamless and there are no issues.
