  • This is the foundation of respect between dog and handler - both on and off stock.

    You are a good man.
The lead loop works best if you have it in a P shape

I have a 16week old Kelpie. She's good while it's just us, but she gets distracted and doesn't respond to us when others are around or something else gets her attention. How old are your pups when you start training and get success.? Thanks.

We start lead training at about 10-12 weeks of age away from the other dogs. We need to get the pups switched onto US ASAP.

I've got a kelpie that's about a year and a half. She listens really well to heel in the backyard, but as soon as I open the gate she pulls like crazy. I'm scared to use this rope collar because she pulls no matter what, I don't want her to choke in the rope. Are there any other options?

They will not choke - its a reminder. And you relax the rope when they respond. Kelpies are not stupid, but they will work you if they dont respect you or you let them

@@alistairlewis2461Hello Alistair! I totally agree and would add that the position of the corrective collar being high up, just behind the ears and underneath their jawline is important in this regard to minimise any risk of injury.
