Banjo is from a Barru Kid x Barru Bee litter. He had never seen livestock until 12 hours prior to making this video. He had a 3 minute exposure to these lambs the evening prior and went straight to work. Instinct is everything!
Sticky dogs for Jodi
มุมมอง 83หลายเดือนก่อน
Explanation of freeing up a sticky eyed dog. Do not hunt the dog away, keep your body pressure off the dog but directed at the general area where the dog is - indicating to him that you are taking up that space and he needs to change his position to keep the sheep held to you. In time and handled correctly this type of dog is usually a great mustering type and free moving.
Barru Snow on lambs

Very intense young dog, but Snow is slowly starting to settle down and think a bit more. In the pen for a fine tune.

Einfach mega ❤
You are a good man. The lead loop works best if you have it in a P shape .
Penny wants to join in on the fun!
Another nice one
Nice pup, Scott.
The POWER, of the walk up!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤
Fantastic just took on a young Kelpie just the knowledge I was looking for, thank you!
what is his pedigree?
He is pure Karrawarra.
Nice pup
Great looking young dog 👍
He’ll do.!
I have a 16week old Kelpie. She's good while it's just us, but she gets distracted and doesn't respond to us when others are around or something else gets her attention. How old are your pups when you start training and get success.? Thanks.
We start lead training at about 10-12 weeks of age away from the other dogs. We need to get the pups switched onto US ASAP.
I've got a kelpie that's about a year and a half. She listens really well to heel in the backyard, but as soon as I open the gate she pulls like crazy. I'm scared to use this rope collar because she pulls no matter what, I don't want her to choke in the rope. Are there any other options?
They will not choke - its a reminder. And you relax the rope when they respond. Kelpies are not stupid, but they will work you if they dont respect you or you let them
@@LewisTheFly888Hello Alistair! I totally agree and would add that the position of the corrective collar being high up, just behind the ears and underneath their jawline is important in this regard to minimise any risk of injury.
How did you go?
I’ve never seen feral goats have so much respect for fences and gateways🤔
I called Can-Am they tell me they don't make an EV.
Better do this with one dog 😂😂😉👍
La capacidad es increíble , siendo chico aún, genial el perro
Increíble,genial saludos desde Argentina!!!!
Wonderful to watch a awesome working pair like these dogs . Great work
What sort of money do you get for feral goats?
Sin palabras excelente 👏👏👏👏
Wowwww
Excelente Minni instinto puro un sueño tener un perro de esa sangre y características, saludos!!
Not feral if they were feral they would have escaped when they saw you
Wrong - they were feral goats. The dogs contained them.
The goats no matter how wild had no chance of escape from two excellent working dogs like those two .
Feral goats just magically appeared on a farm?!🤣
Stella had just turned 2yo when this was shot.
i am chinese。how could i connet you
hello。where are you from。i love your dog every much
I cannot wait to get an EV like this. Sick of the big service bills associated with petrol engine farm bikes.
muy bueno en el trabajo
Do you sale live feral Goats?
Nice pup Scott showing enough balance and walk up. Will be interesting to see how he progresses. Hows the rest of the litter going.
Hi Scott, I really like your pup. Even at this early stage I can see he has all the raw qualities to make an outstanding dog and potentially a top sire.
Things are great down here, Barru Cougar just had another litter by Karrawarra Jim 3 weeks ago and they are fat and healthy and both Cougar and Jim are doing well to. Hope all is well with you and the family. Keep up the good work with your dogs I love watching you youtube clip.
Hi Scott, is he bred the same as my Karrawarra Jim?
Hi Ben, No, bit different, he is out of Karrawarra Tanya by Karrawarra Sol. Hope all is well mate.
Nice pup and Great video, shows us newbies to dog training on how to handle a pup and get ourselves into the right postion
Most definitely Timoteo. Search YOutube for "Merlin and Luke on feral goats" and you will see a couple of my dogs working feral goats.
Can you use Kelpies with goats?
Absolutely! Brilliant! 💓💓💓💖
Beautiful looking dogs. Amazingly done video.
Hi, I really enjoyed this dog. How old is it? Who are the parents of Billy?
Not quite right there Lou. The better working kelpies are not "live wire pains in the bums!!". If you have kelpies like that you simply have the wrong dogs. The absolute best of the working kelpies are calm and sensible - they could not have a commanding and calm affect on stock otherwise. My dogs will follow me like a shadow off lead anywhere I go. WE MUST SELECT ONLY FOR CALM SENSIBLE KELPIES - NOT HYPERACTIVE, BUSY MINDED SENSELESS KELPIES!
Mine and our others have all had blue then bright - slightly disturbing yellow/ golden very pale eyes - bit disturbing when your trying to sneak home and 'kelpie' spots you - but says nothing and follows and watches - till you are totally freaked knowing something's there? Random names and one licks you!! Funny now! Not then - cheeky dogs!
Oh my they weren't doing this out the farm!! Lol ... We only keep them in town because we just love them and grew up with them.. The true kelp needs land - they are breeding finer smaller and maybe flat/apat dogs.. I think it is not right myself - but each to there own.. We have massive block with free bush across the road and I still think - in rural town Australia - it's not fair for them!!
They are bloody awesome dogs!! Never for beginners - training as pups is slightly forceful and harsh!! You must be led dog day one or you can have serious issues!! Some very few are great amazing and they are breeding them for pets - most are live wire pains in the bums!! You only remember a job well done or a good deed or how pretty they are when they look up at you with the sparkling eyes lol - devils!! Only doing that cause they chewed all your shoes - ate your veggies , dug your garden lol..
Awesome, absolutely loved it!!! Classic! Love my kelpie dogs love this song xo
