Love it when you shoot my favorite rail line. And a Maine Centra l bonus. still can't figure out why they didn't use smaller letters so Centra l wouldn't look so goofy.
I enjoy seeing the small town locations that you film and they are the sort of scenes of America that I wouldn't normally see on UK television. I think that the interesting action on railways is at the ends of the line where the shunting takes place and the various wagons are picked up and dropped off. A fast train rushing along a mainline is much less interesting though.
mornin jt.... first car crossing was a Maine Central box.. They sold out in 1981 so that's an old one. I see a MCRR occasionally in your vids but they're pretty rare..

I don't think they're particularly busy in terms of number of trains. I get the impression that they only run a couple of trips along the line each week. But business for them does seem to be pretty good, which is pretty great. :)
Yes I agree. I remember them from the 80s when there was also a grain elevator there and a connection over the road that went between buildings. There were rr sidings also
Great catch of the CCET as always especially being my favorite short line! The video from Oct 13th was awesome running LHF pulling a 22 car consist which is my favorite! I like the big Class 1 trains and the BIG mixed freight consists but the short line railroads are my favorite. Nice to see an old Wisconsin and Maine Central boxcar in the mix for Hutamaki! Always good to see CCET. in action whether it's individual car loans or mini unit trains. I've always liked the old red brick buildings but I think it's time for the damaged one to be torn down. Whoever owns it seems to have walked away and if you've made no effort in over a year to fix it much less even stabilize it it's now a danger and nuisance. Man does that horn ever get a workout virtually a continuous blast. The Sheep are probably the most comfortable in this colder weather. Keep on rolling! Sorry it's carloads not carloans
CCET doesn't run unit train. A unit train isn't just a train with only one type of car on it. A unit train is a train that's run as a unit, shuttling back and forth between a loading point and an unloading point, without any switching. CCET's closest thing to that is their rock trains, but even those aren't true unit trains, as they're often combined with other traffic, so they get switched.
Huhtamaki needs some signals too! Lots of traffic at that crossing....as always ccet is great videos! Listen to that horn rollin' through Williamsburg! Nice man!!👍👍
I find it interesting that the conductor doesn't ride the train, seems more effort to have to drive to each location, unless they only do that for a few spots. I love the local train traffic, great clips as usual, especially with the fall colors.

I bet that old Gilford Railways / Maine Cent car came from the big rail yard that's behind Huhtamaki in Waterville Maine.. My grandfather use to be the plant manager of Huhtamaki (before vanleer, before that Keyes) back 30 plus years ago..
They normally do, yes. However, they only have one SD40-2, and their two GP15-1s face in opposite directions. In this case, they need the SD40-2 for the rock cars but, for whatever reason, they've coupled it to the GP15-1 that's facing in the same direction as it. Maybe the other GP15-1 was under maintenance at the time, or maybe they wanted to balance out the operating hours on the two GP15-1s. As far as I'm aware, CCET doesn't have a convenient way to turn locomotives.
A funny coincidence when I watched a train video that was related to Huhtamäki oy. Huhtamäki is a Finnish company, its roots and founders are from Finland and the head office is in the city of Espoo, almost next door to me.😄
Hey there Jaw Tooth from Trucker Russ of Cleveland , Ohio and another Great Video from you ... Very cool to see those 2 CCET locomotives doing their job properly becuz of good maintenance done on them ! 👍 However , i have an issue with a couple of those crossing that you showed ... The first one is where that train backed into that company where there's Only cross bucks and Yield Signs to let drivers know that there is a R x R crossing there ! 😲 Too Much foliage on that one corner in my opinion that's an obstruction of viewage for drivers to see a train coming ( horn blowing in plenty of time to warn traffic or not ) and the other crossing that should have gates besides just the wig - wag lights is where it's coming along between the two brick buildings and again even if the locomotive is blowing it's horn with plenty of time ( it seems to me ) to let the traffic know that it's coming thru that section of the town ! Looked to me to be going a Little Too Fast thru area in my opinion where some Idiot might try to beat the train at that crossing ! 😟 Well anyway , keep up the Good Work and stay Safe out there ! 😉
The crossing is only used once a week or so. Because it has no gates, the conductor is required to check that traffic has stopped before the train crosses the road. So motorists don't ever need to see the train -- the train can't enter the road until the conductor has reported that it's safe. It's also not a very busy road. As Jaw Tooth remarks in the video, it's really unusual to see that many cars on it. Normally when he films there, there are one or two cars at most.
Go ahead and drive to the front of the RR crossing, that’s where I’d want to be 1:06-aww, you let him beat you to it! 5:06-is that allowed or was that guy impatient 13:40-they’re going to demolish those old buildings, right?
5:06 Why would it not be allowed? He yielded to the train, the train had passed and the road was clear. There are no lights or barriers at that crossing.

It's not a high hood. "High hood" refers to the short hood in front of the cab. This is a regular low-nose locomotive, running long-hood forward.

Besides the Maine Central & Wisconsin Central boxcars there was another Iowa Traction (IATR) boxcar in front of the RailBox boxcar.

No, they have interchange with Norfolk Southern at Clare Yard in Mariemont, Ohio
They stayed on that horn all the way through and past Williamsburg, OH but not until they got to it.
