Oh, yes. This was one of the most badass covers I've ever done, and another collaboration effort to boot! It was also one of the most complex, heaviest mid-sections I've ever written for a cover. I'd say this is my best-engineered productions so far and set the bar high for future projects.
Yup, this was a true "Extended Cover." Immediately you'll notice that the intro changed quite a bit, much like with the "Unavoidable Battle" and "F.O.E." covers, for pure head-banging awesomeness. Much remained unchanged until after the first chorus (it's pretty much the original arrangement with a hella lot more guitars thrown in), which see the main riff take a Mastodon-esque groove (odd time signature riffs with solo drum fills). Then it dives into the breakdown and buildup... only into the most Lamb-of-God-esque drops to ever exist in any of my covers. From there, it goes into the two-part solo, the first of which is mine and the second which features Dylan. Immediately afterwards, you'll hear a 2nd song we've decided to add in: "Swear to my Bones," followed by a retread of the chorus and then mashed up parts of "Our Beginning." Both songs revolved around the same theme, so we had to add it in. This trully was an astronomically-sized cover.
Also, this was the first time I had a chance to work with a collaborator local to me, which kept the production really tight

What I love the most about "Our Beginning" is it includes melodies from "Yaldabaoth" then slowly becomes "Swear to My Bones" and then crescendos into something new, symbolizing that while Yaldabaoth may have granted the thieves their powers; they actualized on their own.

I mean i was level 60 when facing yaldy for the first time and thought he was gonna be difficult for me because i started with Golden and the Almighty was a difficulty at lvl 85 basically Yaldy although having more influence than the almighty is much easier to defeat for some reason

The more and more you listen to yaldaboath, the more you can realize that the song is an instrumental take on the whole game. You start off going hard and having amazing luck, until around the last 70% of the game(when you beat Okumura) thats when you have to try desperately to clear your name to no avail(3:30). Then you beat Shido thinking that it would fix it, but it doesn't, so you go hard through Mementos killing every shadow in sight. Thats when you get to the depths and find the holy grail, you get defeated and find out Igor was fake, letting the real Igor come back. You then find your friends and fight your way up to fight the holy grail again who merged Mementos and the real world. You beat the grail and Yaldaboath and slowly and softly everything goes back to normal. Aka the last 57 seconds.
This song is the musical equivalent of Thermopylae
I just wanna say, this track has kept me coming back for years now. It captures the events of the battle so spectacularly, it’s honestly stunning to me. The very beginning is when the Thieves first go up against this threat, fighting against a God-like force for one last all-out bid on reforming society for the better. Then comes the lead up to the mosh section, with Yaldabaoth charging his Rays of Control, and the utter panic this gives to the Thieves. Then, the Demiurge unleashes it, nearly annihilating the Thieves as they scramble for any means of avoiding getting blasted away. Then, it picks up tempo again, the Thieves throwing literally everything they have at Yaldabaoth, it just barely being enough to survive. But, slowly but surely, everything begins to turn in their favor. Eventually, the public begins cheering them on, robbing away Yaldabaoth’s power and bestowing it upon the Thieves, who then place all their hopes in Joker. He summons Satanael, with Yaldabaoth trying to fight back in vain, all for it to lull into Our Beginnings with the battle’s climax.

I know I'm late but hot DAMN dude your covers go so hard, I love this one and "The Fog". "The Fog" has less of this problem but the boss themes tend to be a little too repetitive sometimes, so hearing these shreds adds so much more meat to the songs.
The would be Prime Minister and his illegitimate child disliked this cover.

Completely agree, thought this first time I heard it as well. P5s final boss theme was such a disappoint honestly. After tracks like Battle for Everyone's Soul, and Genesis. Really dropped the ball, glad Michael Pham came through for us though haha.
@@lyzder7298 To me man, it's all about the build up to the climax. When the climax of Genesis comes in with the way its paced directly with how the boss fights structure is. On its own it's much slower paced, but with the boss it feels so satisfying. My problem with P5 is there is no build up, it's all climax the whole song. There's no progression to it.
Originally I found this through one of those auto-generated "Topic" channels on TH-cam but man, I _had_ to seek the original channel out after listening to this. This is hands-down one of the best video game song covers I've ever had the pleasure of listening to. Love the heaviness of the "Yaldabaoth" portion, the sick solo that transitions into the beautiful "Swear to my Bones," and of course the triumphant, inspiring beauty of "Our Beginning" that rounds it all out.

Fucking brilliant! I personally find this cover to surpass the original, I was, in all honesty a bit disappointed with the final boss theme, but fuck, this cover makes me question that entirely. Keep the covers coming man, I can't help, but love literally everything you put out.

Damn, thanks for the detailed reply! So was this basically a trial and error thing or was there some method/inspiration you had in mind while building this tone? Tone shaping at the amp-level is one of the more tedious parts of production to me so I can't imagine having this many amps for a single part.

who else feels this should be the theme song for a fight between two redeemed people who were falsely accused of crimes (Meliodious vs Joker anyone?) It's time for a DEATH BATTLE!
What about a battle between a pair of fashionable criminals who're doing what's right for the world (Giorno Giovanna VS Joker) or, perhaps more interestingly, two groups of them (The Bucciarati Gang VS The Phantom Thieves of Hearts)? "STANDO!" "PERSONA!" Will the Bodyguard Team be able to take down their opposition or will the Phantom Thieves succeed against such a team of ruthless gangsters and their Stands with the power of their collective rebellious spirit? And another thing: Gold Experience Requiem VS Satanael! Will the Rebel King of Hell never see truth or will GER meet his match against the titanic demon lord at his rifle's barrel?
@@opusmagnus26 That is a good point but the reason I chose this fight was because it would be close if they only included arsene and satanael (who are attack magic users) which would be a good fight against meliodious because with the counters he could just reflect the magic attacks back. But when getting near the end they could do something like true counter (forgot the name) against the sinful shell of satanael (in my opinion, that would be a clash of ages). And after that it could cause some kind of explosion that is blocked like in the (SPOLIERS) final boss right of persona 5, while melodious (extremely injured) tries to get the dagger, Joker could just shoot the leg, arm or both to weaken them thus causing an all-out attack and before it ends satanael could use cosmic flare to finish him off while pulling the all-out attack pose. Bonus fact: Joker is able to survive an explosion in one of the boss fights of persona 5 that seems to be similar to at least planet level or if we high ball it (THE POWER OF THE BIG BANG).

Woomy finish the strength confidant, save up money, and fuse the ultimate strength confidant persona. use charge and then a single or multi-hit phys move after uping your attack in some way. bring ann and spam concentrate and blazing hell. have morgana for healing with mediaharn (sp?) or salvation if necessary. this strat works well on almost any boss
