Tube strap with pump , quick link , tube and multi tool stays on the bike all times . Magic Mary up front for the winter . Hard tail all year round so that's always sorted . And of course keep that sled clean ! Great points owen !
➕1 for the FRONT mudguard - I moved to one of the larger ones a few winters back (RRP is my preference) and can't ride without it now - makes a huge difference on winter rides. However when it comes to a rear mudguard. I'm sorry, I just can't do it... maybe a custom one which protect exposed shock mounting, but the big long ones designed to keep the riders bum dry are just rubbish - (and they look naff) much better off wearing good kit!
For about £12, the PRO dropper protectors are well worth it in winter. Keeps mud/crud off the dropper, so it doesn't drip down onto/into the seal. I do run short fenders front and back, but mostly to keep mud away from the forks / shocks. I know I'm going to get covered whatever fender is on the bike. PS Maxxis Forekasters - best winter XC tyre IMHO.
I'd have cut a diagonal from the bottom of the post at the back to safely save more weight. I'm 225 pounds so, bench press would be mo betta than drill press! My 400mm seatpost on a larger size bike for me lost 4 inches from the bottom. 1/2 inch longer than it had to be considering the original markings. Now the weight savings probably save 2 or 3 ounces worth water in the bottle.
Not much mud when it gets below -20 C. (-4 F) Big part of Sweden is actually a bit further up in the northern hemisphere and mud isn't the issue in the winter, the ice is. And the grass packing of the tyre is out of the question since snow covers the grass. Anyone tried the hack but packing with spruce? ;) Nevertheless, a good episode as usual. :D
I couldn’t care less about how my bike looks with mud guards, I’d rather be warm and dry than be soaked through, with a bike caked in mud, than be pleased my bike doesn’t look unsightly?
Rich wasn't a fan of my rear mudhugger I run at winter on the last embn show ha , does keep my ass and back clean and dry mind even if it does look choice
I really like Owen!!! He gives clear instructions and makes good sense to me! Great addition!
💯% love Owen already, come across knowledgeable and informative and seem to have the humour required to bring a smile or laugh to an episode 🤟🏻
Mud = autumn. Ice & snow = winter❤ !
Owen, loved this, the vibe was SO good. Great work sir 🔥👏
Muddier? Wetter? Try snowier and icier, haha! Winter in the UK is like autumn here in Canada.

Away from topic. You sound like a younger Richard Hammond. 🤙
Totally with you. 👍🏻 I even have a small *rear* mudguard that keeps mud off my drivetrain. We have mud due to snowmelt all the way till May.
Been riding with studded tires for years found them indispensable!
I should hope for a wet and very cold winter in Texas after the scorching summer we had.

Winter for me is driving south 40 mins to Sedona. Sucks to be you guys.
Spikes, snow and ice is what winter's all about. Not everybody gets to enjoy all that, tuff luck 😊

Already swapped my summer to winter tyres, I think that part of video is a bit late for the UK!
What is this thing "winter"? Here in Brazil we don´t have this going on anytime of year! 🤣
Yeah you’re spoiled with temperature, but you do get a fair bit of rain, and muddy conditions, don’t you?🤷♂️
Good for you
Resurgence in single speed?
Pov, its heading into summer
Next point ….pack the luggage and go to somewhere warm 😂
Is it ok to make custome linkage parts for my full sus bike in order to make it more sutable for me ( minimal changes to simple parts)

Any special greases to stop grit getting in the linkage bearings?
You definitely need bike specific super high quality bike waterproof grit removing grease at 50€ per 10ml
Are There Any Greases That Shut Dirt Out 100%?
fingers all over the rotors, Doddy would never let that happen 😂
Bike people are so funny. You know you can clean rotors, right. 😅

bikini plastic flaps are pointless for actually protecting anything from mud.
Definatly Stops shit flicking in your face on front
